Legends Begin

Hrothgar grins widely. "Well met Hert of Magic, and welcome to Bloodpool! People call me Hrothgar the swift. I would be delighted to be your guide here Hearty! Uh, do you mind me calling you Hearty? Well, either way, I would love to guide you around, but I'm about to prepare for a journed to the Iron Mountain."

Reacting to my threat, the creature slid the blade into a defensive position. 'A better question is, are you friend or foe?' How the hell do I know today has been pure chaos, as is I am friends with a drunk and some one who adds the swift to his name.

'Hey, easy, easy! We're friends. Well, not your personal friends just yet as we don't really know each other, but we're not foes.' I heard Hrothgar answer the question, and then with a simple motion he landed on the other side of the creature. I loosened my grip on the dagger no longer the sole person at risk. 'well, sir, would you grace us with a name now that you know we're not a threat?'

'I am from the Windsong Clan, my name translates as the Heart of Magic.' Heart of magic, does it want to be called that.

'Well met Heart of Magic, and welcome to Bloodpool! People call me Hrothgar the swift....' I was distracted from Hrothgar's ranting by the sudden straighting of Heart's wings. That was the same thing that happened to the elf. 'Well, either way, I would love to guide you around, but I'm about to prepare for a journey to the Iron Mountain.'

'I'm assuming we are all heading towards the Mountain?' I looked behind swift and saw someone new, a man in armor like I had never seen before. The suite was all encasing and completely hugged his body as if he was a marble statue that had come to life.

There is safety in numbers so a large party should do just fine, now that we know the goblins are hostile. "I think we should gather our supplies and leave soon if we are going."

'I'm ready when you are lad!' I looked to the side and saw yet another traveler or I suppose combatant this one had fought along side of the well armored man.

I looked at them "mountain? iron?" my eyes widened a bit but wen t back to their normal size, I had barely managed to control the flattening of my feathers, just barely. I glared at the man for calling me heart I said "don't . . . call me Hearty, just call me . . . Sul." I had noticed the other one leaning against the wall, his metal frame bothered me. Thinking about the amount of heat and flame needed to cast that made my feathers rustle. I flattened my wings and then looked back at the woman, my stare more intense "what do you mean mountain?"

Slsun

IC: 'Mountain? iron?' The green cloaked figure rose, now in much better condition. It seemed to be taking in its surrounding even as we spoke. I tightened my grip a bit more around the dagger aware that if it was a threat it'd be a stronger one now. Its gaze stopped at Hrothgar. 'Don't . . . call me Hearty, just call me . . . Sul.' Then the gaze moved on to the man in odd armor. That meant its gaze would come to me soon.

Its wings slowly vanished into its cloak, and its head began to turn inside its hood. I was afraid to see its face and looked down at the ground. I stared at its leg. The leg surprised me, completely normal and yet entirely alien all at once. The leg was that of a plain human, the same as mine or any other fit humans, but it was encased in an odd armored shell perhaps only second to the steel man behind him, the armor was both visible and yet completely clear at the same time.

'What do you mean mountain?' I was suddenly brought back to the moment. My head snapped up and I gazed directly into his green eyes for the first time. He seemed human enough, perhaps his cheekbones were more pronounced and his nose a bit steeper then most, but he seemed kind. I returned my dagger to it's concealed location.

"Well Sul, the city was attacked by pirates late last night. When they were fended off there was a voice that told of a puzzle on the iron mountain that holds some power." I leaned back against the wall taking some weight off my sore legs. "We are going to try and solve this puzzle and hope it helps our town." I looked away and bit down on my lip, then I let it go and turned back to him. "My name is Slsun."

I pulled off my hood, revealing my hair and the feathers in it, my large eyes taking a far off look, I was still looking at the woman, but the way I had my focus probably made it look like I was looking through her. She was very odd . . . I had never heard of any being like her, with glowing eyes. I breathed deeply, taking in the scents but kept my gaze somewhat focused on the woman, part of my gaze focused on the armored person.

IC: Sul pulled off his hood revealing a head full of both hair and feathers. I turned to my side and adjusted the dagger and seeth hiding it better. I didn't expect him to like that but that is alright. I looked up at him once more to find him stareing at me, no staring into me. I turned around completely to avoid his gaze. I looked off into the distance and could see the sun rising behind our goal iron mountin. It was an impresive sight but showed that we had some distance to travel. Perhaps this is what he was staring at then. I felt a bit more relaxed.

"So I vote we break up and grab our stuff and meet back here."

Rudy shook his head, then stepped away from the wall. He picked up the cloak that had fallen off of him before, and slowly put it back around his shoulders. He covered his head partially with it. He looked at them, wondering if he could really trust them. He looked normal, until someone looked into his eyes. Still, those who had magical ability could see that his entire body seemed to glow with magic, even though he had no magic of his own.

"Well, we'd better hurry. There's a lot of work to do, right?"

I looked at the other man in amazement, the amount of magic that he had about him surprised me and then I realized that Slsun had said something about packing up. I looked away and said to her "everything I own, is on me." I then pushed my right wing out from under the cloak and starting grooming it, all the while keeping the others within my vision as I tended to my wing. After about 30 minutes or so, I shifted to my other wing and did the same. Taking my time going through every feather and grooming it, the feathers that fell off, I took and stuck in my hair.

IC: "Don't go any where with out me." I moved to my home, happy to see it was intact. I then opened the door and went inside. The place had a few key things missing my parents must of fled the attacks. "Well at least I know they weren't killed in their sleep."

I went upstairs, I was used to traveling and kept must of my belongings in a simple pack. I grabbed my water skin and a few important artifacts I had brought with me. I placed the few pieces of clothing I had unpacked back into my bag. "I wonder if this is why I came home, just to go on this quest." I went back down the stairs to the water barrel. I filled my water skin.

I returned the group to find they hadn't left yet. Sul was still grooming his wings. I suppose that is a common past time for his people. "Well I am ready."

Rudy nodded, then started for the gates to the village. Considering what he had learned from his maps, they had a long ways to go. He wondered briefly which of them would survive this trip. He knew he would, since he wasn't able to be killed easily. Still, it was always a possibility.

Hrothgar grinned. "I'm as ready as I'm gonna get! A good theif always keeps all he need with him! Oops! Did I say theif? I meant bard! Oh how easy it is for professions to get muddled up, especially when they have some degree of releving the wealthy of their great burden"

He chuckled to himself. Bard he was, and the part he would play for now, was that of the honest theif

I blinked, my eyes refocusing to focus on the one who called himself "swift" and wondered what I was doing in the presence of a thief. I noticed the young lady return and nodded to her as I finished up with my wing, and let it go. I opened my wings, stretching them to their full thirteen feet. I jumped up and started flapping my wings to see if I could fly, and flew up a bit and dove back down, landing where I had taken off. I brushed off my wings and put them close against my body "I'm ready."

Slsun

IC: I walked up to the bird man. "Why the short display of flight?"

Selufae Sulina

I blinked and looked at her, those eyes were very interesting. Then said "I needed to make sure I did a proper job preening." I then looked up at the sky, and tucked my hair under the pointy ears. "Aerdrie has given us good winds today."

Slsun

IC: "Who? Think we will get going shortly, I get tired of waiting to move."

"Agreed! And I hope everyone has enough provisions with them for the journey"

Slsun

IC: Beer and whiskey? Well that is blunt, and that isn't even the town drunk, who could at least say he takes his job seriously. "Well sounds to me like we are prepared. Should we get walking." I take my first steps to the town gate.

Selufae Sulina

I said "Aerdrie Faenya, Mistress and Godess of the Winds." I looked up, then looked down and said softly "uma, amin naa diallinin." I then looked off in the distance and followed the young lady, I walked up to her my eyes focused in the distance, "so where exactly are we going?"

Rudy stood silently, waiting at the gate for the others. He had a rag out and was cleaning his sword with it.

Hrothgar grinned to himself as the others moved off. Aah this was going to be fun for sure! Excitement, adventure, gold, and a big fat prize at the end! Magnificent! He quickly helfted his pack onto his back and followed the others to the gate

Cormach

Cormach blinked to the gate ahead of the others "So what are we looking for Rudy Roughknight me lad?" he asked "I'm quite prepared for an adventure."

OOC:
Abradix
Age: Well over 200
Race: Undead
Class: Cleric
Description: An abomination of life he hasn't yet found his place in the world. He was raised from the dead over 100 years ago by a crazed necromancer, having a strong will in life he was able to find enough of his old self to break away from his master. He can't remember a thing about his past life, his name, his family, even his race; though he suspects he was a human. He wears a heavy cloak over his entire body and a large satchel over his shoulder. His walking stick is actually a rod of immense power which he managed to steal from his former master. He is currently looking to line his pockets with some gold which he plans to use to find his former family.

IC:
Abradix sat by the side of the road and scampered into some foliage when he heard footsteps coming... Although he was rotting he still retained most of his senses. Magic is an amazing thing. He watched the adventurers for a bit and heard mention of an adventure. Perhaps I should join them; he thought to himself... His breath rattled through his lipless hole of a mouth and he crept through the brush near the side of the path. Keeping an eye on them and waiting for the right time to intorduce himself. He knew from experience that jumping out on unsuspecting people can be a bad thing; he once tried to introduce himself to a lowly looking mage and soon found himself knocked on his back and on fire before he knew what had happened. Best play it safe for now since he was outnumbered.
