He is responsible for being in a situation that led to his rape and had a strong probability of doing so. Just as you would be. Is it your fault it happened? Of course not. But blame is assigning fault. Responsibility is for the protection of oneself. Responsibility is asking, "How can I stop this from happening to me?" Because guess what? Some people are fuckwads. And part of life is learning how not to be taken advantage of by fuckwads.
And it's not just rape. If a person emails me claiming to be from Nigeria and needing to hide a large stash of money, he's to blame for being a fuckwad. However, it's my responsibility not to be taken advantage of.
