Let’s have dinner!

Can you share more about what that looks like to you?
I know people who have given up nightshades for that reason..
Lots of turmeric?
Right now it is giving up soda, carbs and sugar. I am also incorporating more vegetables, especially raw ones into my diet. Over the next few weeks it will change more. I have a health coach who is getting me all set up with recipes and what to eat when. I am very hopeful about this.

OK I'm continuing to try to gain traction because I'm a masochist at heart...

Mid-week time. Do you partake in "little treat culture"? An example is finishing a work project and going to your favorite spot for their pistachio croissant and a cortado. Not that I'd do that. What is your little treat? Food, not people.
I get myself a little treat when I have to go into the office... usually a danish & cappuccino. But I also tend to treat myself too much regularly. I need to reign it in a little.

100% for the "I had to go to the office" treat. There's an amazing coffee shop near my office but I try to go a different way so I don't spend $7 on a pistachio latte!

I made soup the other day out of leftovers. Chicken, half a leftover pork chop, and two uncooked chicken sausage.

Added a boatload of veggies and some frozen potato stock I had for making mashed potatoes at Christmas time.

Did need a few billion cubes for more flavor, but damn, it was good!

My dad has requested a slow cooker meal he likes. It’s super easy! You just need 3-4 chicken breasts, two cans of beans (I like black beans and pinto beans), a can of corn, and a can of peas. Wash all the ingredients and then put everything in the slow cooker for 4 hours on high or 6 hours on low.

Meat soup!

Sounds like an easy way to make a family mean. I like the slow cooker a lot but most vegetarian stuff just turns into mush. When I ate chicken, I used it all the time.

My favorite thing to have on hand for those nights is boxed mac and cheese (I mix the cheese powder with some milk and cottage cheese in a blender and it’s so rich and creamy). It’s cheap and full protein and everyone loves it. It feels like a little treat because it’s boxed mac and cheese. Which is legitimately the best kind.

I gave up soda...and added a smoothie made with a mushroom blend of reishi, cordyceps, lions mane and turkey tail. Lost 20 pounds and gained so much energy it is scary.

That sounds good.... But I'm thinking ... Soup? Maybe some albóndigas? Hmm...
I love soup. When I have time, I do broccoli cheddar. Or Matzo ball. I like minestrone but I tend to leave the pasta out because the leftovers are better that way (or make a small batch of pasta for that night).
There's also pastina. So good.
