That is wonderful, (((((au_man))))). You are doing such a fantastic job.

Yes, i need to be held more accountable. :) i haven't been porking out but i definitely been eating more than i should. Time to get serious again.

What about exercise? Now that you have that new puppy you should keep a log about you activity too.

i've decided to start a food diary again, i haven't lost anymore weight. This will make me more accountable.

I haven't lost any more weight, I must give up the wine. The problem is that Aussie wines are very good....LOL

Dear Pink
I saw your thread, and have spent the past half hour reading all the wonderful posts here. I really applaud your efforts. I too, have been trying to lose, and finally am having a very slow, steady success. I'd love to come back here and check on you, and all your friends that fight the good fight. I have one big reason to stay on track, and that's being burdened with a disease caused by being overweight. I hope to eventually overcome that with slightly better eating, and lots of getting outside for a stroll every day.
I raise a glass (of water) to you for the recent 3 pound loss. To some, that may not sound like much, but try carrying around 3 pounds of flour for an hour or two, without setting it down for a break...you'll see how significant that amount is...so, bravo girl!!!

It does help to spot eating trends too.

After my results my eating changed too. I had been below my allowed calories all month but my hunger increased so I have been eating larger portions, not to excess but till full.

Sometimes the body requires more, sometimes less... ;)

I think your goal is very do-able, so, you've got all my encouragement.
I'm on the path to shedding a total of about 100 lbs. I really am afraid of the scales, and don't know where I am weight wise, but I know I've lost because over the past two years I've dropped 4-6 sizes. I do measure my waist, and have lost 3 inches since January. My goal would be to lose 7 more inches. I have no timeline on this. I'm finding that this slow, steady pace is keeping me sane. I don't feel deprived in any way. Mostly I'm choosing better foods (most of the time) and trying to get in long walks every day. Though I admit, where I am right now is so hot that I can't get outside like I want to. I may have to go find a mall and soak up some of their AC.
Anyhoo, all the best on your goal and I'll pop in now and then to see how you're doing.

I would love to join in your group

if that's alright with you. I Started in February weighing 277 pounds. Now it's May 10th and I have lost 12 pounds.

I started working out 4-5 days a week, riding a fixed speed bicycle, using an infrared sauna daily sweating my ass off and I've only lost 12 pounds. I was actually expecting closer to 20.

My problem is that I eat too much. I am constantly hungry, that I will nibble on everything. That's were I need the help.

Do you have any access to a dietician? If not, ask your Dr if he could find one for you.

Welcome to the thread. :)

Tell me what a 'fat goal' is...I'm curious.
Take it from me, don't beat yourself up for not meeting every goal, that you tried at all is a success in my opinion.
Just a suggestion for a healthy snack...a handful of raw nuts, like almonds, or pecans, or walnuts can take the edge off hunger, and there's some very good things in them for you, a bit of fiber to help you feel fuller, and I think some of the Omega's. I read that in Dr Oz's book and find it does help, and they taste wonderful!
I almost met my goal today of 10,000 steps, I think I logged 9,330ish...but who's counting....ME! I love my new pedometer, it does so much for a little tiny box around my waist.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow, and grab some nuts when you feel noshy....take that as you will ;)

My ExSO bought me a pedometer so i could make sure i was doing the 10,000 steps recomened. Wore it to work and got 12,000 first day, rising to 20,000 on a busy saturday night in the kitchen. Didn't bother after that...

my goal is 41 fat grams a day, my calories are 1600 a day.

i started walking today, pretty good for my first day. i've taken the next step in this battle. :)

Thought I would post a lil update about me. I've lost about 55 lbs since Nov. 2006. I've slowed down quite a bit but it is still coming off.

It isn't an easy thing...but it sure makes all the difference in the world. I feel so much better about myself and I have tons more energy...

Good luck to everyone! :rose: :rose: :rose:

Good for you! It's my favorite form of exercise. I think I read you have a puppy...a built in walking machine! My sweet old dog still gets excited when I get my walking shoes out, even at 16 years of age.
You might try a pedometer, I never used one til recently, and now I love watching the steps add up. The little thing tells me the time, the distance, number of steps, minutes walked (it even stops when you stop walking, the picks up when you're on the go again) and estimated calories burnt. All that for $20...I think that's money well spent. It has helped me go farther, to try to get those 10,000+ steps recommended.

Me too baby! I get my walking in, but it's the food choices each day that are soooo tricky. I've done better over the past few years, but know I still need to tweak my eating plan....any advice is welcome.

Does anyone have any lowfat recipes that are their favorites?

One extremely easy one that I like is to take one banana, break it into big chunks, microwave it for 10 seconds and then mash it up with a fork. I makes a wonderful spread over a piece of toast or a waffle or pancake. As far as I know there's zero fat in a banana.

i took a walk tonight with my dog. By the time we got back home, i had worked up a bit of a sweat. :)
