LGBTQIA+ Daily Vibe II

England's still in... just not in the way they would have liked. And man. They SHOULD have gone to the gold medal game. That was heartbreaking to watch.

I'm selfishly excited, though, because I get to watch them play twice in a row, in person. And my father-in-law, who's from London is coming to watch the bronze medal game on Saturday, too. Both games should be amazing, but with these four, any combination would have led to some intense games.
I'm not a big footie fan myself but I'm so pissed off with the poor coverage here, that I have been waving my feminist flag. I have a trans friend here who plays and had to fight for the FA to allow her to play in a women's team... finally they fell in line with international guidelines  so that was a great result :)

Progress is good! And the sad thing is, coverage here has been bad, too. And we're the host country. :p The games are broadcast, sure, but trying to find any other details during the week? Pitiful.

And even during the games, they'll tease us with replays, and do the little "swoosh" intro... then show us one of the players bending over instead.

One of the former men's players here suggested that to make women's soccer more popular, the women should wear shorter shorts. So... progress is good, but there's still a long way to go.

That f*cker Sebb Blatter said it all - suggesting women players should wear skimpier shorts and lower cut tops... so yea, the shit goes all the way to the top

Figures. We keep joking that FIFA was very careful to say no to racism, but they've mentioned nothing about ending bribery, sexism, and corruption.

Well. Not "joking". Just sad commentary.

Okay! Chapter two has been submitted. Now to get on with the day.

There is no amount of caffeine that makes hospital hours more tolerable. Soooooo sleepy. It doesn't help that we only get about two hours of actual darkness each night. Yay, summer.

Not LGBT as such but great ammunition for transphobic bull-shitters

Check this gorgeous girl :)

UPDATE: Harnaam’s story inspired British photographer Louisa Coulthurst, who asked her to do a bridal photo shoot. Now she’s being featured as a beautiful bearded bride on Louisa’s website, UrbanBridesmaid.com, and on other bridal sites like rocknrollbride.com.

Women are diverse

Thanks

Celebrities do it in front of a camera :D

Totally the right place - thanks for posting. I hadn't seen that x

Things have come a long ways since Ellen was essentially canceled over a kiss (sort of)

On "Senses 8" there were a few interesting couples. Strapon are becoming common for Netflix productions. The first episode flashed on a very wet just used one

thoughts?

Are things changing for the better for trans community?? (Is that offensive? Sorry!)

Caitlyn Jenner...

At least two characters on Netflix shows I can think of as transexual on "Orange is the new Black" and "Sense8" (complete change right?)

Then there's this guy...

I need to make sure I NEVER give him any money by seeing his films. Not sure I paid to see Battleship... but regretted the loss in time.

Are things getting better? I dunno - it feels like two steps forward one jump back right now. Yes, OITNB and Yes, Caitlyn Jenner then No, that Hillary Clinton erases Trans by mentioning the sexual orientation of LGBTQ people and No, that the Bathroom Bill still looks set to become law in California.

Then there are posters here on Lit - the ones who fantasise about sucking cock and getting pegged by trannies with huge cocks; who don't give a shit for gay rights because "if they made a decision to be gay, they should live with it". They're the ones who are the real shockers: their duplicity is breath taking.

I got called a victim for acknowledging the struggle that gay people have for equal rights?! wtf? I could sink into the background and go stealth right now: I've had my surgery, I am a not unattractive young woman, so why don't I quietly disappear into the cis-gender, hetero world? Because then I'd be just as bad as the me-no-homo brigade that get off on gay and trans porn, conveniently accessible to all, but don't give a shit how that happened.
*end rant*

I'm glad there's a conversation going on about it. The presence of the conversation was a big part in me coming out about it. Like any group of people, there's gonna be poor representatives and like any major collective movement, there's going to be some pushback and in-fighting. But progress is progress, and it's happening.
Gay and trans porn… I dunno, pornography's a dark place, but I feel like it's necessary for someone who's still figuring out where they are. Gotta see the options (and jerk off to them). Most people's insecurities keep them from going out and applying them to the real world, and those insecurities are pretty well justified given the social resistance to non-hetero non-cis concepts. Porn's about the only outlet for a lot of people at that point; the problem is that people spend too much time watching it and not enough time thinking about how they identify. Then they join the phobia band wagon because the truth is too scary and too hard. Disappointing, maybe, but that's people for you.

That's why I got into reading and writing erotica. It was a safe space to explore myself and ideas I didn't fully understand yet.

Yes. It's too easy for people to jerk off and then conveniently forget about it until the next time they get horny, especially if they're ashamed about what turns them on because it goes against their cis/het/toxic masculine education. The conversations don't come about from watching porn - they come about from listening and then deciding to actively educate oneself. Possibly even coming to a place of "Hey, I think this is me and maybe I shouldn't be acting like such a fuckwad to other people who are like this."

Nearly everything I know about anything Transgender, I learned from this thread. Which is an amazing thing, I think. I've even been able to help real life friends of mine who think they might be trans, just because of the amazing people I've met here over the years. Community for the win.

Just checking in. Are any of you lovely people still kicking around Lit?
