Literotica Orgy!!! (A chain story.)

Okay, serious question here...

Yes, it's taken me a while to "finish" chapter one of this tale, but that includes quite a build up (I think) that I wrote here... Then again, it's always taken me longer to finish a story than *most* authors at Lit, or so it seems! I am close to done now.

What I am wondering is how long should we give each author between chapters? Like, realistically. In the chain "guidelines" they suggest a week between submissions to hold the interest of readers. Well, I think if you have a good story going (and by "default" a chain story with several different authors should count there!) then your readers will wait patiently for you and read the installments as they come.

All of that said, to be fair to both each author here (so far Vis and I have it a little easier being CH 1 and 2) and the readers, how long should we give each author? Two weeks? Three? Is four weeks (a whole damn month!) too long? lol

Obviously, this will affect almost everyone but myself and Vis, so please offer your opinions!!!! Also, once the chain officially starts in story submissions I'll need to know if the people who have not accepted a chapter number yet are still looking to write one or not!

I plan to have a "starting deadline" no later than the second week of March. (After that, it's up to Laurel on how long it takes to post. lol)

I would saw no more then 2 weeks for each writer to pull they're stroy together and submit it. I think that when they submit it to Lit they should post on here so that we can look for it as well as to know that they hit the deadline. If they can get they're chapter done sooner then all the better. And since it takes a couple of days for submissions to be approved and posted that will also add time for the readers and leave them for wanting more.

So far I was sort of thinking two weeks in my mind, but since this would affect pretty much everyone but me I wanted everyone's opinion here! :)

It's a good idea for us to write a little message here stating when we've submitted our chapter to the site. Also, I'll be running an update of everyone's chapter in my sig line, for a while, until the tale is done. :)

Be sure to keep open communication with each other, especially the author who will need to submit after you, so we can keep the flow of our story going! Perhaps if you have your personal story line mapped out in your mind you may wish to tell the next author how you will end yours so he or she can kind of jot down notes or a rough draft of their chapter!

And don't forget spellchecker!! If ya'll have an editor you trust/use frequently you may wish to bend their ear and get them ready! lol I have a feeling waiting on a random "volunteer editor" here may take too long!

Man, the first few times I needed a volunteer editor, I was able to snag them no problem. Now it seems like nobody in the Volunteer Editor's community actually responds to requests anymore, so I'm forced to have my friends on Lit look the stuff over.

Yeah, I have a dear friend on here who lets me bend his ear quite a bit. :) Being a mod to one board on Lit, I get many E-mails from people asking me why the volunteer editors won't answer their E-mails. I'm like "I don't know!" lol

When I lived back in Texas, amongst my circle of friends, the preferred answer to any question of why something didn't work the way it should was "Because you touch yourself at night!" :D

So, the lack of Lit editors is because you act like a spider monkey?

You're right.... when I got my first story posted here, I had one of the volunteer editors to edit first. It took a long time to come back. I understand that they're really busy and all, but I've learned to do it myself since then. So I'll volunteer as an editor for you guys. I can't write it, but I'll edit it :rose:

Yeah editors. Well I have no problem editing for others as well.

Well...chapter two is underway. As long as everyone involved is listed on post one, I've brought eveyone into the story. The scene is an icebreaker, finger food, drinks, and all of us litsters...

Cheers!

Yes, everyone listed in my first post is up for grabs. :) Just be sure you check it for an update prior to me submitting my chapter to the site. (Changes can be made before that time, but when I submit my chapter I have to offer a timeline of sorts to the site owners in my notes. Currently, one person has been taken off the list. I'm not sure when the last time was that you checked it, so I'm not sure if you added him or not.)

We Need Title Ideas!!

Okay, in my chapter I named the hotel Fantasy Island Hotel and Resort. If that sounds dumb, I'm open to suggestions. That said, would Fantasy Island make one think of the TV show too much, or do ya'll think it would fit this theme as our title? Maybe even Lit's Fantasy Island?

It's time for us to brainstorm titles!! I can't submit it titleless. ;) Also, now is the time for any author out there to "sign up" or even "drop out" if necessary. Please check in and let's get this ball rolling!

We could always call it "The Story With No Name", ala the Clint Eastwood "Man With No Name" trilogy of famous spaghetti westerns (even if they are properly the "Dollars Trilogy", since the guy had no less than three names in the movies, but whatever).

And yeah, "Fantasy Island" would make me think too much of Ricardo Montalban or Malcolm McDowell (what's with that show and getting sci-fi villains to host? Do you think we can get another movie with Ian McDiarmid as the host?)

We could go for an exotic or "cultural" sounding name for the resort, but with some seedy connotations for people who would happen to know that sort of thing. Santa Magdalena Hotel and Resort? Motel Californication? :D

How about...

...the Edgewater Inn?

Frank Zappa and the Mothers fans'll get it, but that may be too arcane.

I was afraid that Fantasy Island would drum up images of the show. Santa Magdalena Hotel and Resort sounds cool for the place. I still like having "Lit" in the story title somewhere without being as obvious to say The Lit Orgy or whatever.

Does Lit's Fantasy Island sound dumb?

By the way, while not in Hawaii I found out "Fantasy Island Hotel and Resort" is a real tropical island getaway when doing a net search! Clicky

I like the name of the Hotel it sounds rather romantic and beknign, when in fact it is Hotel catering to fantasies and fetishes.

As for the title how about something along the lines of Lit Writer Convention? After all in a sense it is a convention of sorts. Only a thought.

Hmmm... Something to think about.
