I too thought I was being helpful by advising him to go to The Personals....was I trolling by my "choke the chicken" remark?

Good Morning Thandi. Seems I missed the train wreck last night. I haven't seen the thread in question, but I heard I was trolling this thread....so what do I know....*shrugs*

Good morning Lovely Eden!

Who said you were trolling this thread? Would that make us all trolling it? I'm so confused as to the whole trolling issue.

Good morning Thandi & Eden lovelies!

Eden - there is no way that I would ever consider your participation in this thread as trolling. Point me in the direction of that comment maker and I'll set them straight. Nobody talks to an igloo buddy of mine like that ;)

A final thought in last night's conversation, as was pointed out to me, when ThatGuy said he wanted to make money all bets are off. Had he been a guy that truly gets off on jerking off on cam, then I think he would have been guided elsewhere and not have gotten hammered on.

Good morning Litiquette-ville!

I suspect many if you are sleeping in after a late night ;). But for those awake and those who will wander in soon:

Grammar Nazis - I have to say, this is the group I'm least happy with. We all want good grammar, life is so much better with appropriately placed commas. But I use a smart phone and my thumbs aren't always nimble enough and then there's autocorrect. When I make a grammar error I don't need it pointed out. If my post is 99% good on grammar let's just say the slip up is just that, a slip up.

But if you see a consistent grammar mistake, where it's clear that I don't know something, send a PM. Help me, teach me ;)

Then again, this could just be a me problem ;)

A final thought to make your final thought less final..

When a woman posted a similar request on the How-To thread, several sincere replies were intermingled with the others.
I think part of it was that it happened on the playground..
so we played

Nothing is never really ever final, is it ;)
I agree had he posted in the How-to thread, he wouldn't have gotten nearly as pile drived ;)

Innuendo - I believe too much can get tiring but that there needs to be some, who doesn't love a good play on words. My rule is typically one per thread post, and never more than 2 in a PM. Thoughts?

But as an outsider looking in and one who is not part of the cool crowd.. Ive read a lot of people from the playground bitching about how the General board is, and why they don't like the GB. Partially cause of how rude and mean they supposedly are. ( I wouldn't know, I saw enough to stay away) Yet, that was what ended up happening here?

I saw talk earlier in this thread about how some threads get cliquish. Yet many that I have seen post in here, I would consider part of those cliques. Some like to say "oh, I'm not part of that crowd" Yet you see the reactions of their postings from others and how popular they are, and either laugh at that comment, or roll your eyes.

And since I am in the mood to just spew freely. What is up with the women who have 100's of 1000s of pages of pics, where the guy is falling at their feet drooling, talking about their beauty, wanting more, needing more, what he wants to do etc.. and she says "Ugh, I'm so ugly" (I see this more with the women then the men) Why????

Sorry. Bad morning. Had to rant.

hiya everyone:) I've read this thread with interest and have no doubt broken some rules of litiquette, never with a malicious intent though!

A timid step into this thread. My question is...when does just a group of friendly people who post in particular thread or threads become a clique?

In my opinion <for what it's worth>, that it is natural to become more friendly and chatty to people who post in the same threads as you - hence it can seem to be cliquey <sp>. That isn't to say that being mean or excluding others is right . That is what seems to me be a clique.

Hope you are all having fun :)

Cliques on the Internet are perceived not actual

I haven't spoken to everyone on this thread, but I'm pretty sure that's not because they're some kind of clique - but just because we haven't bumped thought-lines yet.

From a lurker looking into a thread, the established group of first responders who continue to post might seem to be a cliche without actually being one. Sometimes the theme or the conversation is what they want to come back to. After a few years of posting with and around someone, with the occasional PM, it becomes more of a friendship. I think the cliches start when a group of posters only respond and converse with each other, excluding, and or, being actually rude and snarky towards anyone new. Lit’s a revolving door with a very low percentage of longtime residents. It just seems like they dominate because they’re willing to post more often than the new or the lurkers.

And my opinion on ForeverDreaming’s why: Attention, attention, attention. Fishing for compliments isn’t a new thing, but the internet does seem to magnify its annoying tendencies.

And since the OP is being all vacant and remiss in his duties. Welcome to the thread to the new posters. :rose: I’m sure it’ll go back to his personal love-fest shortly.

Get it out Forever, that's exactly why I started this thread, we all have things about Lit that bug us, and this is the place to let it out. Honest comments like yours, often spark conversation and debate. While you might not find an answer, hearing other view points is of value. The clique thing is a common topic, and like was said, people with common interests tend to hang out together. Last night was interesting, but I contend that when the guy asked for a way to make money he lost the protection of good Litiquette.

With regards to your comment on pics, the nice thing about Lit, there's people and places to accomidate whatever your interests are.

Throws the flag, unnecessary snarkiness. I was going to let this slide but since you decided to launch a grenade, it's clique, not cliche". Now off to the penalty box with you.

I so don't get the 'cleaning up' vibe when you snap on tight gloves.

And those aren't the glitter gloves, are they?:eek:
