I finally passed the 30 K mark at 2 am this morning! It was another half hour before I could get to bed due tot he fact that I needed to get the story to a spot where I could pick it up again today.

And guess what? I added a new character set to my book, and killed off one of the old ones. Muahahaha. I'm so bad I'm good.

What's even better, the one piece of elusive storyline I needed to tie it all up into a big present to myself got crystalized into reality last night. Things are looking up in the world from now on! Whee!!

Good on you! (I love saying that).

I had a similar epiphany with my novel. Two characters are being completely redefined from my original plans, which is throwing a major (and hopefully interesting) plot twist into the story.

I still haven't passed 25,000 yet.
I am so far behind. Everytime I think that I might get caught up, something happens and I don't get to write much at all for a couple of days.

I'm sure when Tate is ready to share, we'll all be falling off of chairs, couches, etc.


It's good to take breaks. NaNo is fun and compelling, but breathers are necessary at times.


For people who are interested in sharing post NaNo, there's always the obvious (and clunky) share via email. Another option would be to set up a Yahoo Group for people to upload and download stories, but I would be cautious about that because Yahoo has some strange fine print on copyrights of posted material. Or if someone has extra web space they wouldn't mind sharing for a while, they could host a temporary posting location and provide the links to an approved group of individuals (in the interest of protecting copyrights and such).

I could set up a page where I could put 'em all up for grabs if you email them to me in some readable format. Password protected and invite-only if you are worried about uninvited readers. And it's my server, so copyrights won't be an issue.

You actuallly have a dedicated server? We're going to be getting one after Christmas, at the moment we host our BornCheeky domain with a hosting company, although we do all the design ourselves.

After watching that yucky film the other night, about the space aliens who took over human bodies by sitting on their back and sticking a long slimy antenna up their cerebral, and then sticking out slimy pink tentacles to entwine with other creatures' tentacles for communication... Here's something I thought was funny.

If noone else think it is, I understand. It's kind of dumb.

I wrote a part of my NaNo on Lin's laptop yesterday in bed. I took a look at it now, to insert it into my own text, and the last lines I wrote looked like this:

I guess I fell asleep right at "supposed to save the" and just kept on typing. How's that for dedication, eh? Strangest thing is, I remember that part, and I thought I was fully awake, and wrote something entirely different. At least it made perfect sense for me at the time.

Anyway, Autosave saved that little bit of sillyness for me, so I thought I'd share it. I think I'll leave it out of the draft for the NaNo count though.

I'm not *quite* that bad. Seriously, there is only one scene including mild tentacle porn in my novel. It's a Plot Ninja from the NaNo boards, and it did fit in with the content of my novel, so I went with it!

Tentacle porn can be very erotic, if subtly done. I know, that sounds like an oxymoron, but it can be done.

You are going to love my Alien Incest story, if it gets through, its got tentacles galore.

Wills, that's scary shit! I love it! You could break my 'reading of incest virginity' with that story.

Me I'm a bit stalled by real life work, late finishes and the like disturbing my flow, damn real life at times like this

Just passed 41,000 this evening and winding down toward a finale now, which could come anywhere between 50,000 and 60,000, not sure yet.

Isn't a plot ninja when someone shouts, "Hey, we gotta have ninjas (in Lou's case, tentacle porn) in our stories!" and everyone within hearing range hollers back "Hell yeah, I will!", and then they desperately tries to fit bloody ninjas into any kind of story they are working on at the moment?

That's at least lest the impression I've gotten, that it's the same as the Mandatory Crazy Midget that is seen in role playing (the pen and paper kind) setups now and then.
