Loa Blood

Ghost

As he slept he dreamed about the woman he met with in the desert and for some odd reason desire burned in his mind, he wanted so much to meet with her again. The way she spoke to him was a way he has not seen in any woman before. She was a woman that knew how to take charge and that impressed him. He than had a image of her in his mind and he than realized something, she had silver hair and he than realized that she was Aralian and he knew now what he was going to do. He had to find her and if he had to go straight into there hideout he would. He than started to think of how he would find their place of hangout and he would go into the small neighborhoods and ask questions. He now knew what he had to do.

Later that morning

He awoke early in the morning and loaded his bags up and was soon walking off out of the hotel, the guns he had in the bag and the new rifle strapped to his back, his Katana to his side and his sunglasses on, he was on his way to the neighborhood to ask how to get to the Arialian area. He walked into a ghetto looking part of the city and he looked around and started to whistle a tune as he just stood there, than he yelled out.

“If there is anyone in these houses that can tell me how to get to the Arialian underground, let me know now, or I will reign destruction on this part of the ghetto. I am a maniac and I will start knocking heads around till I find out. This is your only warning.”

He dropped the bag and patted his sides feeling the outline of his two handguns and he had the shotgun in his left hand and he was ready for action. He could hear the voices in his head telling him to just go ahead and burn the houses down, but Ghost silenced them.

"Quiet or I will shoot myself in the head."

The voices than shut up and he was left waiting for someone to respond to him.

IC: Otto became quiet as another performance was about to begin. The lights dimmed and out came a girl wearing a jacket. I began to wonder what she was going to do but then the jacket fell to the floor and music started. She was a belly dancer.

Otto became entranced by her performance. I looked at her one more time and decided I wasn't going to support such a sexiest act. I am going to walk out right now. I continued to look at her with an unblinking stare. Wait a second, why do I care? Dani is a real striper after all, she wheres a lot less when she dances and I can't imagine her dances are much different from this.

My eyes slowly and completely fallowed her. The girl came down into the audience and danced a short ways in front of us and I was afraid she was going to dance in front of Otto. What a dishonorable tramp. Wait am I jealous? I should go outside to think about this. Still I couldn't just leave him to watch her, I mean I can't just stop watching her it'd be rude.

The lights clicked on and the dancing stopped some time later. I stared on expecting her to dance a bit more and even a bit upset she stopped, then again I felt relieved it was over.

'Another magnificent performance, was it not?' "Yes I suppose so."

'I must confess, I had noticed you at the concert not only for your comely features, but for your grace of bearing. You are Valin, are you not?' Well at least he isn't after me just because of my cup size. 'Trained in the martial arts of your people. Your training shows in your movements, as surely as the training of others in this room must show itself to you.'

I had been able to pick out some people and there knowledge at fighting when I walked in. Some of them where good others weren't so good. It was truly a mixed crowd in here. I'm impressed he noticed my grace of motion, perhaps it was the way my hands where held ready to move into defense rather then the way I walked.

'Of course, for now your training must be on hiatus. But if you wish, after your child is born, I would be honored to invite you to one of our Dojos in the city.'

"I would love to go to a Dojo with you." Perhaps I can undo the dishonor of my training being unfinished. I may not reach the highest level of training but I could certainly reach one high enough for my families name. yes Otto is most certainly a good man, I wonder what my family would think.

'I am sure our young students would have much to learn from you.'

"Oh, I take it you noticed. I was hoping no one would." I turned my back toward him to better hide my crime against my family. I simply hoped the child would be worth this dishonor.

Elsewhere

Dan Williams passes an eternity drifting in light. Then it is over, and he slowly becomes aware of time passing, of darkness tinged with green, of choking pressure in his lungs. Dan is deep underwater, and he is drowning.

Dan's wings beat at the dark water, as he instinctively swims for a surface he cannot see. He becomes tangled in algae, trailing vines, and dead flowers, but ahead of him the water is clearer, bluer, flashing hints of gold sunlight. Dan creeps ahead, tangled in plants, his body screaming for air and the darkness closing around him once more.

Then he feels a small, cool hand on his. The vines and flowers fall away and he is lead toward the surface, and light, and air. Beside him, the Drowned Woman glides through the water, her wake a cloud of white linen, black hair, and flowers.

Dan Williams emerges from a vertical wall of water, and falls coughing and sputtering onto jagged rock, rusted metal and scorched bones. The air is thick with ash and ozone, but Dan breathes deeply, slowly regaining his feet.

A city in ruins stretches out before him. Not Bay City or Dracon Island, there is no ocean visible. Argopolis perhaps, or somewere in Phrygia? The sky is blocked out by menacing clouds of smoke, ash and indigo energy fields. What he had taken to be the sun is countless fires raging to the horizon, some as wide and as tall as cities themselves.

Somewhere in that wasteland something terribly huge roared at the darkened sky. Far away, three heads flail on the ends of impossibly long, serpentine necks, and beams of stark white light slice lines of flame along the ground.

The wall of water still stands behind Dan. The Drowned Woman floats within, perfect, pale and dead.

Hass nods to Roza to collect her things, and points out Symphony in the crowd. Then she is gone again among her guests, her deep laugh rising and falling like gentle waves. Roza finds an envelope in her jacket filled with cash. It's double what she normally makes.
______________

Otto takes Nia's hand again. "Fear not, my lady. Yes, your unborn child shows. But it is nothing to be ashamed of. I regret that I know little of the Valin people and your complex codes of honour. But I do know of the sanctity of life, and natural process, and both of these truths welcome your child to the world. We live at the dawn of a glorious age, and you are right to bring new life into it."

Otto introduces Nia to a few of the young guards. The Sejealan men and women are athletic, friendly, their eyes clear of the opium smoke that clouds the atrium. Nia notices several of them wear Loa cell vials at their throats.

Soon, the party winds down. It is early morning, and many of Hass' guests stumble out to their chauffered cars.

Roza sighes in relief. Figuring that she should probably meet the man .. it would do no harm, besides if she did at least she would be on the hostess's good side. She looks to where madame Hass pointed and sees the fellow. She puts her jacket on and feels the pocket there is an envelope there and her tape player.. she sighes again in relief. She then makes her way through the croud towards Symphony, the man madame Hass pointed out. Feeling a bit more secure now that she had her things , she starts towards him.

Bay City

Ghost walks through the abandoned streets of a ruined, lawless city. Far away, tall cranes are rebuilding the downtown core, but here in the slums the buildings are mostly rubble and the streets are broken and buckled. Frightened eyes peer at him from broken, boarded windows.

An old Argon woman with a bandaged hand steps out into the street, arms raised above her head. "Don't shoot! Please don't shot. I'll tell you what you need to know. The Little Aralia, the Aralian neighborhood, it used to be down this street," she points down a side street, "but you see what it's like now. Everything is ruined. Those bikers still come around sometimes. They sell batteries, chocolate, cigarettes, alcohol, things the GAIA rations don't give us. And they sell Loa vials. The police don't stop them any more. The bikers kill whoever gets in their way."

Ghost ses the few blocks that used to be Little Aralia, building walls sagging and windows boarded up. He notices a bar halfway down the street, that seems still in decent condition. There's something else, too, some strange scent on the air. Not coming from the Aralian neighborhood, but from another sidestreet nearby. The smell of ants.

Symphony
He gave a warm grin to the dark-haired woman from before and murmered an assent, and without looking his voice also started talking into Madam's right ear, even while he chatted with Dani.

"Madam,i would be honored to stay and preform a bit more.Actually,i had hoped to catch you after the party to talk to you about that very thing.Oh and Madam,if you wish to talk to me at anytime merely talk udner your breath, ill be able to hear."a chuckle sounded as he stopped and turned his full attention back to Dani as they headed towards a refreshment table and got a drink.
Loki
Loki sat down and stared at the door,to dumbfounded to try and force the door.He just...sat there.his thoughts jumbled, and he blinked, unable ot comprehend that no one answered...
AntMen
They had grown. The colony now measure around 40 or 50 members.Unluckily,She was too young yet to produce offspring,so the new members under Her had been converted by him.The problem wiht this was they looked ragtag. They had not been converted or created by Queen, and they Looked and were weaker. They on the whole stayed on two-legs,and gained very little in teh way of strength or speed.
It would have to do.
He turned and his head tilted, communicating Queen's Will silently. They answered and scurried away, each on its own mission.
The deserted Warehouse would be the start of the new Hive.It was now covered in warmth, the heating piped running throuhg the city siphoned to increase the temperature in the new Hive.
Queen looked approximatly like a pre-teen bordering on teenager now,and Her hair had grown longer to the ground. Her eyes were still abnormally large and She had become more and more, active.
Queen now walked around the room, moving from the Tv and Chair to the feeding area, which ahd grown rapidly, now in a partitioned off corner of the warehouse, where multiple fridges kept perishable foods. The new knowledge gained from the new workers had been most...useful.Of course, soon tehy would not be needed, and Queen would use them to double their number of those like himself.

After the Casino

"Hey now." Aijyn tried to reason with the bouncer of the Casino, "Come on now, at least let me walk out of here with dignity." Struggling to get free of the bouncers arms, Aijyn starts to head off to outside the Casino, brushing himself off first then as he heads out he greets anyone who looks at him with a smile.

After exiting the Casino, Aijyn places his hands into his pockets and sighs, "Well hat, we've lost all we had." He then pulls his hands out of his pockets and spreads them out in front of him in defeat and looks up. "What did I do to deserve this?" He asks aloud, "Why me?"

A gust picks up and his hat flutters and almost flies off of Aijyn's head, but he catches the hat just in time. "Hey fellah, don't feel sorry just because we lost it all, it is not so bad."

Instantly, haunting music fills Aijyn's ears and is compelled to go towards it. "Facinating music, and hey, it seems to be coming from a building. Hopefully the owner won't mind me catching some shuteye there, ya." He keeps heading towards the area the music is coming from, not caring if any danger lurks. To Aijyn, what can seriously make his night any worse?

IC: Otto's words of kindness seemed to be just that. "Well I'm afraid your missing the issue. Lets not discuss it." A quick look around and I noticed the belly dancer was gone. Good reddens.

Otto began to introduce me to various guards. I was surprised he would do this but it might be custom here to draw attention to ones security. Still this isn't his party why does he know them all?

When we came to one guard I noticed a clear vial around his neck. "May I ask whats in the vial?" 'It's Loa cells. That way I know the gods are protecting me.' Does he really believe that those cells which dis honored me will keep him safe from harm? No he thinks they'll reward him in the next life. I hope so, because they aren't helping me much. "Interesting. So what type of training have you done?" The man mentioned a couple styles of training some I knew a few I was less familiar with, honestly I was sorry I asked. He is friendly at least, if not the best conversationalist. His training kept him in shape too, my shape was obviously changing, I wanted this in my life, just not at this time.

I smiled at myself a little. Well Jei looks like I Finally outlasted your dishonor. Mom and Dad would much prefer me being dead I'm sure of that now.

"Well Otto it's getting kinda early perhaps I should find my Room Mate and be going." I wonder if I can get his number? What am I thinking thats no way to regain my honor. Oh forget it lets just embrace him, I mean my dishonor.

AntMen

The Queen had developed rapidly.
Queen now resembled a woman around the age of 18 or 19.
She commanded, and the workers stepped forward but for him.
Queen stepped up to the first one and stepperd up closer to it,Her will magnified this close ot the worker.IT gave a small noise,as if in pain,as Queen sunk the small fangs that would create more soldiers into the worker.
the worker collapsed silently, body shivering and quaking as it writhed ont eh ground,a sick crunching and twisting noise as its insides were changed.
The workers body had become an embryo for the next stage of the development the Queen wished.
Queen moved down the line, giving each worker a small bite, and each one dropped to the ground and convulsed as She moved on.

Queen finished and wiped Her mouth gently, and sent him out to get more workers for Her.he gave a small bow and silently left, slipping out of the new sewer exit, which allowed him to get all over the city easily.

The crusher was no where to be seen. However, a trail seemed to be leading from where he had stood into the mutant forrest.

Rufus panted and stood in the midst of the dead AntMen. black and red falling down his bare chest from his shoulder. He stood, being fuelled purely by adrenaline and the Loa. He met eyes with the dancing woman, as she called to him. He lept out of the bodies. The remaining Antmen retreating. He looked on in puzzlement at the six armed woman. 'Help her? Was it not she that had just plowed through what had stood in her path?'
"Help you?..." He called out to her. "You need no help from me. Why do you call to me woman?" Rufus' eyes where red with rage He could easily kill the woman, rather than assist her in any way. The whole situation puzzled him. His instincts now came into play. He kept on his quard as she spoke to him, dansing in the midst of the transfigured insect bodies. "Why do you come here?"

Dracon Island

The dancer reaches out to Rufus with all six arms, her eyes wild and desperate. Her voice rasps, exhausted and dehydrated.

"Please . . . water . . . help me . . ."

As she reaches forward, the corpses directly in front of her writhe and bubble and change. Stone becomes plastic, flesh becomes glass, then wood, then mercury. The effect seems to end about six feet from the dancer. Rufus is safe where he stands, but if he approaches her he risks being transformed.

Otto gives Nia his card, and leaves her to thank Madame Hass for the evening.

Nia finds Dani still chatting with Symphony, the Gifted artist from the earlier concert.

"So," Dani is saying, her hand on Symphony's arm, "where to now?"
________________

Outside, Aijen finds the glass greenhouse building steaming lightly, and warm to the touch. Through steamy glass, he can barely make out many colourful flowers. The music has stopped, and richly dressed people are leaving by the front doors into waiting limousines.

Aijen finds a warm doorway around the side of the building, which seems a good place to spend the night.

Rozes

Roza walks over to symphony.. he's talking with a beautiful dark haired woman ... she taps him on the shoulder and says... "excuse me, Madame Hass told me that I should speak to you..."

Nia

IC: He carefully hands me a card out of his pocket. I run a hand threw my hair. I guess he wants me to call him. I blush ever so slightly and start to abck away as he heads off to madam Hass.

I spend a little while going trhew the party most of the people are leaveing or have left. I find dani with the amn from the concert. He still looks familar to me, I wonder who he is. Well I'm not going to waste time while she flirts. I walk over to her and tap her on the shoulder. "Do you know what time it is?"

I look over at the man and almost imdeatly recanise him. I shiver a bit with dislike for that day. A day I hope to forget. "You were in the trusk weren't you?" What a coward leting me fight for him. Oh wait the entire reason was I could heal from any wounds, thats what the doc said. Yeah and I supose this wasn't a wound. Doctor not all scares are physical.

"So um, good concert Mr...?"

Symphony turned first to Nia."Symphony is what i prefer to be called Ms...,Nia?i remember you from the night the Crusher attacked Bay City, right?"He then turned to Roza."hello, yes Madam has already told me that i should speak wiht you.Perhaps in a little bit when i am not so tied up?"he said softly, looking between all three ladies(Dani,Nia,and Roza)

Nia

IC: The night the crusher attacked. I still have night mares of that feeling. That feeling of total and complete helplessness. All of that training, years of training wasted. I couldn't defend msyelf from one monster.

I use my training on the island. I used to escape capture be it by the ant men or by any of the many other beasts. I thought I had it fine tuned. While I was there I told msyelf I cound handle nearly anything one on one, but I was wrong. The crusher defeated me, he beat the stone man, and then was jsut barely capable of being locked away. I couldn't stop him even with all that help. Now my family will be disgraced even more. I doubt they'd understand my desicion to to keep this child either.

I looked back at symphony unsure as to how much time had passed. "Well atleast I know why you looked firmilar even if it doesn't stir happy thoughts. Even if it doesn't." I can't blame him any more. I can't blame the stone man any more. I can't even blame the doctor any more.

Roza

Roza didnt realize that there were the others there in front around him... she smiled "Im so sorry to have bothered you .. I will come back when you have time... " She turned and walked away, not really knowing where to go...

SHe supposed she could stay and wait in the room that she had been given to get ready.. .. then maybe she would leave.. Well she figured she should at least stay until he talked to her... then she would skip out she aimlessly walked around until she could find the way to the room.

She stopped by the table and poured herself a glass of punch.. and interesting flavor she thought.. and continued to wander...

Symphony glanced over at Roza as his voice appeared in her ear."If you wish,Madam has told em your rooms are situated across the hallf rom my own,the key is in the small folder-box next to the door."He smilled genially at Nia and Dani, then blinked as he noticed a slight fronw pass over Nia's face.
"Is something the matter?

Roza

Rosa almost choked on her drink when she heard a voice in her ear.. she looked around and saw nobody around her.. that just creeped her out even more... she figured she would just retire in her room.. and since whomever wanted her to would obviously have been around her to hear her say.. "I think I will retire for the night.."

She walked to her rooms and told the guy that was there that she changed her mind and would stay the evening..

she got into her room then locked it and hten put a chair under the doorknob.. she smiled.. yeah that will be safe... she took her jacket and opened the back lining.. she grabbed her pack out of it then took out a satin red gown to sleep in and sliped it on after taking her costume off.. she then tossed the envelope in her lining then stitched back up ..then threw the jacket on the chair adn sliped into the bed.. that punch was making her head hurt..
or maybe it was the voice... or maybe she was just imagining the whole thing..

she figured that whomever wanted to talk to her would knock on her door...

IC: 'Is something the matter.' "I supose you have a keen eye. It's just that the day I met you isn't one of my foundest days to think back on. I can't even remember a good portain of it and I'd probably be beter if I don't." I tapped my fingers on the chair a couple times. "I'll be around when your done Dani." I turned around and began to walk off.

Symphony
Symphony nodded a bit and turned back to Dani after watching her go."ahh so you know Nia?i myself have only met her once"He smiles a bit, though udner it he thinks and works thigns ove rin his head,as they both meander through the party.

Warmth!

"Oh, Oh!, Yes, this is good hat." Aijen smiled to himself while thinking that. Keeping himself close to the wall, moving about as quick as he could before anyone entering the fancy limousines could spot him. Feeling the warmth radiating from the door, he slowly walks in, looking about carefully as to make sure no one is about in the room. Seeing that there isn't, he makes due in a corner and closes his eyes, tilting the hat on his head slightly, he drifts off into a deep sleep, dreaming of the times of his past of his career of a talented magician.

Dani looks after Nia as she departs.

"Yes, she's my roommate, and my friend." she replies to Symphony. "We haven't known each other long. Listen, she's upset, I should go with her. Call me?" she slips a piece of paper with her number into Symphony's hand.

Dani takes her leave of the musician, and finds Nia in the emptying atrium. One by one, the lights are being dimmed, and the last remaining guests are being escorted to their rooms. Hass has already retired for the evening. Outside, the sky is lightening.

"Come on Nia, let's go home." The two women take a back exit out of the huge atrium, turning down a few dark hallways before finding a man in a plastic top hat sleeping against the outside door.
