Loa Blood

Loki

Loki stared up at the man for another few moments, speechless.
"um..ah..um."he stammered."i'm looking for someone named Mary Monroe. She did some paintings?I r-really dont know why im here exactly, though i'd like to speak with her.I found out that this was her last knows a-adress"He stammered a bit, still sprawled out in a sitting position

OOC:1001 posts whoo-hoo!)

Rufus stood as tiny trails of blood trickled down his body from the couple bullet wounds he sustained from the spiders Finally his home was free but was still being transfigured by the dancing woman. He now had two optioins: either persue the Crusher or help the woman. Helping the woman seemed near impossible. She seemed in no way able to vgo anywhere but where she was and it seemed impossible for him to get anywhere near her. He finally decided to go find the Crusher and deal with her later. He picked up his things and began to waalk. He was sore but he was in no way crippled. The Loa, although it was in small amounts in the vials was enough to sustain him in any situation for weeks. He treavelled down the obvious path of the crusher. The beast's massive footprints showing up extremely well in his vision. The strange mutated forrest grew around like ivy everywhere. It shouldn't take that long to find his friend and shouldn't take long, with his help, to find out what to do next.

IC: "So why exactly are you here again?" I asked th party megicain. I wonder if thats what he does for a liveing. Poor guy looks like he's had a bunch of bad luck too.

Elsewhere

Dan Williams, fully human and naked, emerges from the wall of water and lands on the white tiled floor of a cluttered laboratory. The walls are draped with pipes and wires, and huge obscure machines. The corners of the room are filled with dust and empty beer cans, and every counter surface is littered with tools, old pizza boxes, and more beer cans.

An operating table occupies the center of the large room, the unconscious form of Dan Williamsconnected to it by wires and tubes. A vat beside the table holds enough molten metal to cover the body of the Crusher.

The doctor, beer in hand, turns from the Dan Williams on his opperating table to the Dan Williams who just stepped through the Drowned Woman's watery portal. His wild hair is greying, his labcoat badly stained.

"Well, not quite the result I was expecting. But it worked. You're human again. Want some pants? Or a beer?"

Symphony

Symphony stepped up to Miss Roza's door, simulating a knock that she could surely hear no matter where she was,at the same volume."Miss Roza?"his voice spreadout like almost a living thing, sneaking around adn around the rooms to find her, slipping softly itno her ear, barely more then a whisper but immediatly blockign out almost any other sounds."if you would be so kind as to open your door and invite me in,.id like to speak to you about our contracts to Madam"he said softly, the flow continuoes to her ears.

It was early early morning.Mist clung occasionally to buildings as rustling could be heard echoing strangely down the immigrant slums, wher emost of Bay city's minorities banded togehtor against predjudice...and to beat the crap of each other with roaming gangs. This was the very early morning, where No one is awake, because its to early for erly risers and too late for late nighters.A polioce car drifted down on the outermost street, bravely facing the slums at 3 in the morning. The ground around it suddnely shifted and a moment alter only settling gravel and lines along the road remained.Underneath the road the car was driven by a worker, wher eit was ripped apart ofr its enging and widened so that a soldier could sit in it comfortably. So far they had four or so,mostly from the night before. The trap ahd been an ingenous idea, and had taken the guarding of the whole street at great risk for a few hours, but luckily the soldiers had captured anyone too close to the street.the new transports werent very great, and so far there was only one and the one being built. It was a low-bedded open-roofed truck, welded primitivly togethor.

Roza

Roza woke up to the whispering in her ear.. it was telling her to open the door. the thing you could get her to do in her sleep was amazing. .. still in a semi sleep state she got up from her bed didnt bother to pull anything over her gown. She slipped off the gargantuin bed and walked to the door. She pulled the chair out from under it and unlocked the door. She turned the knob just as she fully realised exactly what she was doing, she opened the door to let symphony in.

Dan broke into grim laughter. "I think both would be nice. And apprecated." He quickly put on the pants and took a long draught of the beer. "You have no idea how good that tastes", he commented, even as he put the can to his lips again. "Thanks. But I do have some questions. Who are you, where am I, what happened to me?" he asked quickly.

Half of the laboratory space is still occupied by the Drowned Woman's wall of water. She floats within it, wreathed in flowers, staring impassively at Dan as he dresses himself.

"I'd ask if you want a beer, but you'd just give me that same shit about being beyond desire again, right?" the doctor asks her. If she replies, Dan can't hear it.

"Beatrice," the doctor continues, addressing no-one, "I want all sensors on full sweep, give me as much quantum data as you can on the tesseract, and warn me before she disappears this time."

To Dan he says, "Sorry about that, business first. I'm Bobby Dugan. I work with GAIA. You're at our base in Reva. You surrendered yourself to us after the Dracon Island force field came down. You saved a lot of lives by containing the other escaping monsters, fighting alongside Strength and the Surrealist. After the battle was all over, we brought you here, where we've spent the last 8 years working on your cure."

Dugan points to the unconscious body of Dan Williams still laying on the opperating table, liquid metal still draining from his body.
"Or, I guess, he surrendered to us. You, on the other hand, are a representation of Dan Williams' psyche from about 10 years ago, shortly after I sealed your alter ego away on Dracon. The Crusher . . . died, and our lady friend over there took you on a magical tour of the future. He told me all this, so I knew we were going to have this meeting eventually.

"Makes sense? Then maybe you can explain it to me. Dealing with that watery tart always does my head in. Another beer?"

"I see. Sort of. Another beer? Definitely. So, this is... possible?" he asked himself, taking a sip. "Wow. When I was in that body, anything like this... seemed impossible. The other Dan", he said with a shudder, "pounded me like I wasn't even there. I've gotta do this. I can't let that monster kill us all. I can't let any of those... others... have their way. I must take control. I must." He flashed a smile to Dugan after he finished the beer. "Thanks for the beer. I've gotta go, but hopefully, I'll see you in ten years."

A computerized voice calls from somewhere in Dugan's laboratory. "Quantum spike detected. Tesseractivty in T-10, 9, 8 . . ."

The wall of water surges forward, engulfing Dan in cold and tangling him in dead flowers. As he is pulled under, his vision fades to blue, then to black.

The Crusher wakes at the foot of the crystal tower. The creature's scale and metal body is half-buried by orange puffball fungus, rooting it to the ground of Dracon Island.

IC: I kept searching threw my clothes in vain, I simply couldn't find the right outfit, and I hadn't only looked at my clothes but Dani's also. What about this blue dress, no it doesn't go with my eye color!

"Dani what outfit should I wear?" Dani quirked an eye brow. 'I am guessing your seeing Otto. Try the blue one.' I gazed back at her anoyed that she suggested a dress I ruled out already myself.

This was my first time seeing Otto since the dance and for what everr reason I decided to look good. Not the eassiest thing to do since my normally slim frame has swolen up even more in the last few days, I swear this child beter get out of me soon. I may be eating for two, but with how swolen I am It looks like I've been eating for three.

I grabed a red dress and held it up over me. "Dani does this make me look fat?" Dani looked over to me once more. "This is ratehr annoying, Dani what should I wear."

"Nia, you've already tried on everything in the house, except for the plants. You either need to go with something loose and flowing, which I've got lots of, or something tight and slinky, which I've got lots of. Just pick something, already. Let me do your hair, though. This Otto guy is rich, right? That's what you need, girl. A rich sugar daddy."

Otto sent a car around that evening to take Nia to a classy restaurant on the water. He is waiting at a table for two, with a bottle of Sejealan wine.

Nia

IC: I look at Dani. "Perhaps something more casual then. After all I don't need a sugar daddy, let alone a Rich one." It is Val custom to work your way up the social ladder slowly and not to seek out a huge increase in class. After all if I were to marry a truly high class member of the world I would only bring his class down.

"Yes casual will do." I went into the closet and pulled out a set of pants, a set that wasn't full of holes. I then picked a red top and put it on. "Dani does this make me look Big?"

... 30 minutes and 27 outfits later...

I had settled on a back top with long sleeves, it was a very conservative top with only a slight hint at cleavage inherent in any V neck shirt. The pants were tight and form fitting, how ever I hoped it didn't give the wrong impression.

I met Otto at a table and he got the chair for me to sit down. I took a look around to see what kind of restaurant this was. I couldn't tell from the name.

The restaurant's stone patio overlooks a wide, steamy canal, low barges passing in the early dusk. Electric fans silently cool the patio, and well-dressed Argons and Sejealans ate decadent shellfish and admired the dark waters reflecting the city lights. A string quartet played softly from an upper balcony.

Otto rises to greet Nia. "Wonderful to meet you again. You look healthy and well."

Over food and wine, he talks vaguely of his shipping business, of the beauty of Svetlan sunsets, a recent sighting of the great red lion in Reva, the excelence of Bridges cuisine, and the overall weakness and decadence of the Argon nation.

He asks Nia, "What are your plans, if I may be so bold? I hope that you still intend to visit our dojos after your child is born. But what are your plans? For your life and for your child?"

Symphony
Symphony smiles at Roza."why hello again Miss Roza, please excuse me if i interrupted your sleep"looking at ehr slightly tousled hair and sleeping gown.He talked without running out of breath, slyly slinking his form around through teh door, with both of them somehow ending up in the small den of the rooms, sitting down at an armchair as Roza seats herself on teh couch."As i was saying Roza,i wished to speak to you about working for Madam, and hoepfully you and i may perform togethor.I think we would put on a most.....pleasing performance".He smiled happily, having talked almost non-stop for the last few minutes, not needing to draw breath when he didnt use hsi own mouth."as you may already have noticed,i am somewhat...different then most, and i think that you might be the same,if your dance was any indication.then again,it could be just that you are a remarkable dancer(which of course you are)"smiles again, leaning abck a bit in the chair and finally allowing ehr to get room to put in a word.

Rosa fully awake now tries to take in everything that the man is telling her. How he ended up complelety in her room she had no idea. Now that he was here she might as well think over what he was saying to her.

."as you may already have noticed,i am somewhat...different then most, and i think that you might be the same,if your dance was any indication.then again,it could be just that you are a remarkable dancer(which of course you are)"

Blushing with at the comment she speaks her voice sounding soft and shy with a slight accent.

"Well Sir seeing as how I dont usually dance all the time I am unsure of how I would be able to work with you.. however the thought does intrigue me.. you do seem different but I do not know how I can be different in the same way." She stands up to get herself a glass of water and looks over to symphony. "would you like some?" He nods and she walks over to him to hand him the glass.

she walks back to the couch she was sitting on earlier and resumes sitting by bending her legs so they rest onto the seat of the couch then rests her chin on it. She turns her gaze upon him and says, "Any ideas on how we would perform together.. I understand you have great talent in music? I heard your performance was magnificent."

Symphony smiled at Roza and inclined his head thankfully as he took teh proferred glass."thank you,now as i was saying.."he tipped the glass back, taking a healthy drink from it as his voice continued regardless, without even teh hint of being thrown whil drinking."i do not think either you or I are normal, and i also am one to believe that our...particular talents may work suprisingly well togethor".he lowered the glass and grinned at her."Madam has requested that you and I perform togethor, and unluckily i am not ina good enough position to be able to refuse her.hopefully,we will get to play togethor, until i have gained enough trust to let you leave without...complications,as i am sure Madam will have already arranged if you try and leave earlier then she desired."he sighed and nodded to himself,as if he was under the same pressure."Unluckily Madam is most resourceful, and quite intelligent,an unfortunate problem on my behalf."He remarked with a sigh, and lifted his glass to take another drink

Roza's eyes widened. in the same soft voice she said "but you dont understand I was only supposed to do one dance. I never contracted to do anymore.." She put her glass down and hugs her legs as trying to curl up into a tinier ball. "Do you really think that Madames Hass will not let me leave.. I was only to stay the night... she did mention I should talk to you before I leave.. " .. she said biting the full bottom lip of her as a neverous habit ... "I suppose it wouldnt hurt to do one performance together.. "

She looked at symphony .."I dont think the Madame really likes me all that much... I guess we would make her a profit.. its the only reason I see her keeping us around...or me rather... "

"So what kind of a performance are you thinking that we should be doing?"

Symphony nodded slightly."i dont think Madam prefers anyone besides her pet snake, and that because it cna talk. And since both of us Are potential sources of a large income audience,i do think Madam will take precautions to keep you here.If you noticed,at every corridor corner there is a guard and a camera, and we are also on one o the highest levels, with no balconies close enough to climb down tro with improvised rope. No,i think Madam thinks she ahs need of us."he smiled."i feel though, that i cna trust you with something..."
his voice became a whisper ony she could hear.......

Dan as well is thrust into the coldness of the pain. He screams, so much like the others, as a terror and pain greater than he has ever felt engulfs him.

So... this is the trap laid. Anyone who attempts control of the body in the absence of that maniac... will suffer a pain so intense they may well go insane.

Dejectedly, Dan withdrew from control, barely being able to curb his urge to cry out.

Nia:

IC: "My plan for life is as simple as keep liveing it. As for the child I will be happy assumeing it doesn't grow up into a monster." Well that last coment can be taken more then one way. "I tend to live her and now and face challanges as they come. It's an easier way to live then to reflect on the past and come up with a future. After all my past isn't the most honorable one. Forgive me if I have moved to a tangent you don't understand. Very few outside of Val truely understand honor. So I supose it's hard to grasp."

Well I supose I should change the subject before I offend him. "Whats this red lion that you mentioned before? I was probably training at the Temple when it first came about. That or my lack of fallowing the news can be blamed."

Bridges

Otto nods respectfully. "A wise answer. I admire your commitment to your honor. The Sejealan culture is also built on traditions of honour, family, and personal combat, so I believe I do understand what you mean.

"The lion? It's appeared several times in the past few months. Different corners of the world; a hurricane, a space disaster, a pirate attack at sea, a terrorist bombing. The lion appears -huge, as large as an aircraft carrier- and rescues those in trouble. It hasn't spoken, or killed anyone. Not yet. No one knows where it comes from, or why it never appeared in Bay City to fight the Crusher."

As the dinner dishes are taken away, Otto says, "Please know, dear lady, that it would be my pleasure to offer you any assistance possible with the birth of your child. If you would like an Argon citizen ID for it, or a doctor who won't ask questions, anything you might require.

"Should I have the driver take you home now?"

Roza leaned in as if to hear what he had spoken.. only find find that the voice almost sounded as though it were in her head.

Her golden brown eyes became as large as a doe's and looked around.. not exactly hearing what symphony said to her earlier...

"H.. how a..are you doing this.?!" She whispered.. as though he would be able to hear her from across the room.

"The same way you affect people with your dancing, only on a musical scale"his voice whispered in her ear."and i know that somehow you must have come into contact with Loa,and that is why people are so affected by you.I am right, arent I?"

Roza plastered a confused look on her face.. "but I dont remember ever being in contact with that stuff... I just know that its dangerous stuff and the guards Madame Hass has all wear vials of it on their necks.. really I dont even know what that dangerous stuff can do .. the first time I can even remember seeing and hearing about it was here in the party... and you .."

She continued in that soft accented voice.."As for the effect I have with dancing .. well I have always been able to do that.. after I learned this sort of dancing I learned that it had a greater effect than just regular dancing thats why I dance this way.. I always thought I was just wierd thats why people were effected by my dance.. it keeps me off the streets."
