Am I not allowed to give mine? I just happen to disagree. We do not all have to agree with each other all the time.

Ebonyfire said:My relationship before this one was three (long) years. You cannot go by other people's experiences. Relationships can go badly even if you live next door.
It all depends on the two people involved. Do your own thing. Life is too short to worry about what others will think.
Love is like most things: sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
Nothing ventured and nothing gained. I speak from a lot of experience. I will be 52 years old next month!

Hope you enjoy yourself in the LDR thread!

Goldchainedrose said:I am not sure who all knows this but here it goes. I have been and am still in a long distance relationship. My bf is overseas in the military and we have been in this relationship for six years. It has been incredibly hard at times and other times incredibly easy. I am writing this more to give some people who are just starting in an ldr or who are about to get involved (or thinking about it) in an ldr. If your in that situation keep in mind that its going to be hard on both of you. That even if one of you doesn't always say "I miss you" and "I love you" it doesn't mean that they don't. Keep in as much communication as possible as often as possible. Use the net, free long distance, anything and everything you can.
I often and so has my bf, said that we talked more and got to know each other more in our first six months than most people do in a lifetime.
LDR's can be great things. I honestly thank God daily for the internet...without it I would never have met my bf.So internet relationships ands LDR's....they require more conversatoin...but the emotion is worth it all.

Goldchainedrose said:Yes, six years. He is still overseas and we are hoping for the military to send him back stateside within the next year or so. It's been hard, especially this last year, but the connection is so deep. I don't think a lot of people realize that. But I'll take that to another thread
Thanks and if anyone every wants to chat about what is going on with you and your ldr please message me at AOL instant messenger (goldchainedrose) or mail me at castlependragon@yahoo.com
Thanks
