Yes, there are predatory pretenders using the community to find victims. I'd caution any woman or man who is submissive they need to negotiate limits and be sure the dom will respect theirs. This reads as though you’re using the term ‘empowerment’ to mean ‘superpowered.’ I’ve written a lot of stories centered on powerful and/or empowered women (and men) but none had superpowers. Most of my fiction revolves around women who have learned to take the lead, ask for or say (or demand) what they want. They are empowered in that sense, but they generally don’t need to punch, kick, or fly to be so.
To me, fictional empowerment is about character, communication, relationship and growth rather than being born with magical ability or being bit by a radioactive tick.
Can a woman with superpowers benefit from relationship/personal growth empowerment? Sure. There are some very fucked up superheroes. But as much as I enjoy Harry Potter and MCU etc, I find normal humans who are empowered much more interesting to read and write about.
Good luck finding what your looking for. There is a lot of ‘femmdom’ here, even if it isn’t the majority of the stories. As others have suggested, Ogg has concentrated on this area for years.

I’ve just seen this thread. I’m a fan of femdom stories, but making them convincing is tricky. On other sites, there are tales of a total collapse in society, etc., and let’s be honest, if that happened, ladies would be sensible and keep a low profile. It wouldn’t be fun times.

This is a bit of a plug for my stories (Slavery 2050) and a request for scenarios as I need to widen my ideas beyond these slavery conscription settings. I’ve tried to create a dystopian future which I personally wouldn’t wish on anyone, but the males get a raw deal to say the least.

Well, back to the OP, sexually-speaking, virtually any woman can be too much for virtually any man, can wear him out, leave him unable to ‘perform’, so to speak, while she still remains capable of more. That’s simple physiology. I doubt that’s what you’re seeking. There are certainly enough female doms and male subs in Lit, so I doubt that’s it, either.

If it’s strong, confident, assertive women, I can kindasorta see your point. There are however some very solid female characters out there. (I’ve written a couple of them myself, tough, street-smart private eyes to super-smart businesswomen. One of my favourite creations is a series written around a fairly innocent young woman who starts out in a happy but completely power-imbalanced relationship, then steadily grows, gains confidence and influence.)

I agree wholeheartedly with Simon’s point that same of the best characters are flawed to some degree or another. That makes them more interesting, especially their struggles to overcome those flaws. It’s like the supposed habit of Japanese women putting endless effort into the perfect robe, makeup and hairstyle, then deliberately pulling a carefully-selected wisp of hair out of place.

I too would be interested in a clearer definition of what you’re looking for.

"Lysistrata" is probably the best female empowerment story I've read. It's certainly the oldest. Not too heavy on the sex, though.

A modern female empowerment story worth reading is Kurt Vonnegut's "Bluebeard", a brilliant critique of male domination in the art world.

The "women empowerment" stories I read here (and also my own writing) is basically male-submissive fantasy.
