Looks like transgenders are going to have to go through everything gays did

When the gay rights movement started, around 1970, it would have been pointless to poll public opinion on legal recognition of same-sex marriage -- the only response from most people would have been bafflement. Now we have a society where a majority support it -- but it took five decades for us to get that far.

Now it looks like transgenders are going to have to go through the same process all over again, to reach the same level of public acceptance and normalization.

Will it take as long?
Is anyone here old enough to remember Renee Richards? Born Richard Raskin in 1934, transitioned to Renee Richards in 1975. A fairly good tennis player, plus a very good Opthomologist. Scandalous in the mid 70's, but she survived. By the way, she's nearing her 91st birthday, retired from tennis and eye surgery.

I don't think anyone cared about transgender until the madness started. Fine, you want to dress like a woman and believe you're one? Who cares? I don't care. Do you thing.

Obviously it must be spelled out for the knee jerk dum dums: Transwomen in women's sports changed that. Specifically, Lia Thomas changed that. Suddenly, we were being asked to accept the trans radical activist chant that "Transwomen ARE women." The sports issue is only emblematic of that.

That's why the trans issue is different from the gay issue. Homosexuality affects no one else. But demanding that the entire world accept that "gender identity" has replaced sex affects everybody, especially women.

Also, it needs to be spell out to the knee jerk dum dums: just because you refuse to sign up for the gender identity religion does not mean you are automatically a right-wing Trumptard. I'm not. JK Rowling is not. NEWFLASH. There are plenty of people who object to the demand that "Transwomen ARE women" IN THE TRANS COMMUNITY. If you're using this single issue to figure out who's left and who's right, you are wrong.

Please explain how Lia Thomas made you change your life.

Can you read?

guess that makes me a 'trans radical activist'... and there was me thinking I'm a 66-year-old grandmother who enjoys gardening, baking, knitting, writing, painting and making things in general.

Transgenders want the law the recognize their psychological gender identity in all matters where gender is legally relevant. Granting that demand does not oblige everyone to agree in an emotional sense -- you remain free to deny Caitlin Jenner is a woman; she wouldn't have grounds to sue you just for that. Did Michelle Obama ever sue any of the millions of stupid assholes who called her a man?

I did read it, which is why I asked what I asked. You worked very hard to avoid answering a very simple question.

How did Lia Thomas change your life? Did you have to share a locker with her? Are you a big NCAA swimming fan? Did she break your favorite swimmer’s record? Did you have to interact with her in any way?

Looking forward to you answering the question I’m asking.

Actually, the argument you're making about transwomen here was also popular among homophobes for a very long time (and probably still is, though many of them have moved on to transphobia because it's more acceptable to be open about that right now). If I had a dollar for every time some jerk whined about how gay marriage was "cheapening" his marriage to his wife or somehow making less of it, I'd be trading in my Nissan for a Ferrari right about now.

First of all, if you read what I wrote, I was merely pointing out that historically, the whole transwomen in sports thing became an issue because of the publicity around Lia Thomas. There were transwomen in women's sports leading up to that, but they were really under the radar. Thomas made it very public news, that's the only reason I brought his name up.

Second of all, it's not about Lia Thomas specifically. He is EMBLEMATIC of the larger issue of transwomen in women sports. As to why that matters, that is also in the paragraph I quoted: Suddenly, we were being asked to accept the trans radical activist chant that "Transwomen ARE women."

So technically, your question should have been how has THAt affected me personally because that is the ISSUE that LIa THomas brought into the spotlight. So again, learn how to read because that's exactly what I said.

Second of all, it hasn't affected me personally at all. I'm not in prison. I'm not in a sorority. I'm not an athlete. I am not personally related to JK Rowling or even a friend, or any of the people I know of who have been fired and/or cancelled. So?

Do we all have to an illegal immigrant as hired help or as a relative to hate Trump's policies regarding illegal immigrants?

I've seen what the transgender madness has done to a lot of people who it has very much impacted directly and
personally.

GEt it? It's an issue I care about. And just because I haven't yet been personally affected, I am empathetic enough to have a care for how it's impacting people who are directly in the line of fire - this isn't even getting into how children are affected.

Furthermore, I am a sane person. Telling me a man is a woman because he believes he is offends my sense of what is sane and true. It's like seeing the sadistic jackass sitting in the Oval Office. It bothers me.

Well that argument is nonsensical and hysterical and based in no facts whatsoever.

But it is not nonsensical and hysterical when it comes to trans. Tossing out sex in favor of "gender identity" does indeed affect EVERYBODY.

The Democrat party disrespected and underrepresented the other 94% of the American people. That's why they lost.
Yes they did indeed disrespect the majority. It is what left/liberal parties and individuals do all over the world. They are never happier than when they can patronise a minority as a means to show how 'caring' and 'progressive' they are.

Something doesn't have to change your life to be worth opposing. Cops shooting innocent black men didn't affect my life one way or another, but I took to the streets because of it. I got pepper sprayed over it. I happen to actually agree with you on this particular issue, but your line of reasoning here that he shouldn't care because trans women in sports didn't directly affect him is horseshit.

Don't confuse the left with the liberals. Leftists are primarily concerned with the working-class majority.

I thought I had blocked you Polly. You sanctimonious californian faggots are too much to deal with. Il; try the blocking again

Did Lia Thomas shoot someone?

I think the issue here is that you’re not reading what you write.

Lia Thomas had made zero impact in your life, according to you. You’re also not able to describe how she has impacted anyone else in the world, also according to you. You also don’t have to accept her as a woman because you keep calling her, “him”.
So you care about thus why? Because after asking you why for the past few posts you’re unable to name anything.

Transgenders want the law the recognize their psychological gender identity in all matters where gender is legally relevant.
I don't have an issue with that. Sports is not one of those matters because sports are segregated on the basis of sex, so not applicable.

Ok, I take it back. I do have an answer for how Lia Thomas specifically has impacted my life.

It was directly because of Lia Thomas that I reached Peak Trans, a joyous occasion. Thank you, Lia!

People don't have to die for there to be an injustice. He or anyone he knows doesn't have to be impacted for him to opposed something he sees as an injustice. The argument you're using to support your point is simply a bad one. But dig in and double down, I guess. I'm just glad most people don't think like you.

Ok, you brought up being shot, I’m still confused as to how that’s in any way analogous to swimming next to someone in a pool.

Who has been served with this injustice? It’s odd I’ve been asking the question and you’re not able to name a single person.
