Lost city.( vampire, lycan etc roleplay,Open to all)

"Very well, I will pay your price, if you agree to teach me what my Master has not."

I nod.

"Of course. The price I demand is simple. While I will never hold you in Thralldom as a true Maker would, I ask from you what you master should have. Obedience. Loyalty. Honesty. Rewards flow from these. Punishments from the opposite. I do not teach those I do not control.
"This then is your first lesson. Power flows from all that a Vampire is, and Power alone is what we aspire to. We no longer have human souls, or human desires. All are seared from us when we are drained down to that last drop of blood, and of soul, and our Makers give back to us from their own bodies.
"When you feed, you must never fear killing. Nor, must you fear not killing. Kindness is a virtue to the extent it gives you power over another. Such as it gives me power over you, now.
"I cannot compel you. You are free now, and only now, to leave with no fear of reprisal. Once we begin, you are Mine until I release you."

I await her reply. If she says no, then I release her to the streets, with no reprisals. And, no aid if tomorrow night she should return begging it. I do not have time to play about with youngsters who are fickle.

Oh, but she was good this one. She knew I needed her, and she needed me, and would not let me escape when I wanted to. Would there be another to take me in, that did not want to use me for her own purposes? I knew not.

I would stay with this one, this Talia. Let her teach me, let her use me until she was ready to throw me out. But somehow, in some way, I would conquer this "new vampire" nonsense. I had to be powerful in my own right, otherwise what good was being a vampire. If I was just as vulnerable now as I had been as a human, then what was the point? I had to beleive in myself and perhaps others of my kind would come to see me.

"Alright," I replied. "I am yours. Do with me what you will."

"Good. Then I will also pledge to you to teach you well that you yourself will become powerful one day. That I will not hurt or harm you unless it is Needful. That I will share with you my Kills. I aspire to total power, as should you as well, but however ancient I become I cannot do it alone. And for your help, I repay you with knowledge and power, that in your turn you will be able to repay me yet again with alliance. This is the True code of the Vampire, not the nonsense the current Established Ones cant about remaining hidden from the eyes of men. Remember though, I repay evil for evil, just as I repay good for good.

"I have my eye on a human. She is powerful, and if We find her, she will make a useful Thrall. To be ready to help me Find and Make her, I must know what you can do, and cannot do. Do you know how to leap? Do you know how to cloud men's minds? Can you just with a thought, or just a word, Captivate a mortal?"

Leaping. I thought I could do this. There had been several times when I had wished to be on top of a building, instead of the street below, and before I knew it I was there. And I knew my voice was charming to mortals. Clouding men's minds, did my voice count?

"I can leap, perhaps I need some practice. My voice, especially when I sing, mortals seem to be drawn to it. As for clouding men's minds, I don't think I can. But I have never tried," I informed her. "I am sure I am capable of much, yet have no knowledge of what I could be capable of."

"This human," I continued. "I felt a strong prescense earlier, that was niether vampire nor lycan. What is she?"

"What is she? That is a qood question. She bragged about her magics. She wore an amulet that glowed as I approached, and knew, apparently through it, of my nature.
"I believe that her magics are no match for my powers, yet she is fearless. She would fight, and I am loath to damage her, or myself at that. Together, we would be able to place her at a disadvantage.
"But, I am ahead of myself. She will make a sweet prize, but we must first find her.
"As to clouding the minds of humans. It is only a small step removed from controlling them. Your voice has a quality. I can't place it, as I am too far removed from my humanity. It is a gift, and one you should practice and nourish.
"When we go out at dusk to hunt, I want you to focus on the mind of your prey. Feel its mind, feel its contours, its strengths and weaknesses. See your own mind as a limb. A hand. It can open and pry and throttle. It can seep into the cracks of defenses, shatter them, and leave the mind below open to manipulation. This is an analogy, but one that may help you control a human mind.
"Now, it is easier to cloud a mind. The visual part of a human brain is large, and easy to access. Replace your self with, say, fog. The origin of the myth that we can become fog, or at that bats, or wolves."

I wasn't sure if she understood. It was easier to feel than to explain in words.

"The night is not over," I said humbly to my new Mistress. "Perhaps we could hunt and I can try these things of which you speak. I have always been a fast learner."

I hoped that she would allow this, for I didn't like being cramped up before dawn. Alone, I had to for my own survival, but now with this one at my side I felt a measure of confidence.

"Perhaps we can even find the one you search for," I said again, trying to convince her.

I smile widely.

"Very well, then. Let's be off. But mind as dawn approaches. I know I can survive the daylight. I have done before. Have you been outside in the sunlight?"

I pull the curtains back, and open the porch door.

"We use the rooftops. Safer that way. We will be out of reach of many of the humans and Lycans. You go first. I want to see how you leap."

I looked across the way to the rooftop nearest her porch. Doing it on my own was so much easier than it would be now, mainly because I was scared to fail in her prescence.

Taking a deep breath, I let go of my fear and leaped across the gap that separated the two buildings. Of course I had put extra energy into the leap and landed messily, not at all like I knew she would. And sure enough, she leaped after me, landing as if she had not moved at all. I felt sure that I just needed more practice.

After leaping several more buildings, I was getting better at it, the fourth or fifth time landing nearly as perfect as she. It was then that I spotted the woman, leaving either her apartment or her lovers. I sensed it was her lovers by the way she was still touching herself, the way I would have touched myself if I had just made love and was still feeling it.

Frozen on the top of the building I watched her my eyes green and glowing with a newfound hunger. I silently waited for Talia to notice the woman, if she hadn't already, and her permission to hunt her.

So foolish this woman, as were all human women who went walking alone on the streets at night. After so many dead in this town and the others I had been in, you would have thought they'd learn. Foolish as I had been, walking along the street to my apartment, with nary a care in the world. My Maker hadn't even taken me in the street, he had slipped into my apartment with me as fog. How was I to know that vampires were real when I had been told all my life they were a myth. That night that he had Made me, I hadn't even felt sad to leave my prior life behind. I was becoming bored of the endless parties, smiling and gladhanding, and for what purpose. Talia had told me that I should aspire to power in this new life. Well perhaps now, but in my human life, it had tired me. I would be content to be a lone vampire, and travel the world, but first I needed to learn. And so for the moment I was here.

I looked back at Talia, she was also staring at the woman, but had not yet given me any sign that we would hunt her. The bloodlust rose in me, and I wished that she would make up her mind soon.

Aurelia rapidly learned how to leap. For a vampire it was as natural as running for a human. I was little surprised at her first stumble, less surprised as it almost immediately became second nature.

The woman caught my eye as quickly as it had hers. Beautiful, glowing with sexual energy, unusually full of life. She would make a superb target.

I had decided immediately, but I waited. I could feel Aurelia's blood-lust and impatience. I grinned softly as I felt the moment come when she would lose patience and give in to her instincts, would begin the Hunt without my say-so.

"Yes dear. Yes Aurelia, we shall hunt her. Take the lead. Remember, feel her mind so much as you can. Make her lead us to her doom. Make her go somewhere she does not know well, away from sight. An alleyway perhaps? Somewhere she would not normally go. I will give you the choice of either the first bite, or the kill."

Garnet slipped through the streets like an expert. Tonight had been lucrative for her, selling three potions and receiving orders for more.

Her grandmother had been right. Cater to those in power and yourself would rise with them. With the practice she was receiving she felt herself grow stronger each day.

Her encounter from earlier still puzzle her. She knew many of the vamps and the lycans. But not that one. She vowed to doulbe her protection.

At a distance, I could sense her. Powerfully. This one we stalked now was nothing, not compared to her. She would have to wait for now. Once a Hunt started, it had to be continued to its proper conclusion. Besides, the night was waning quickly, and the Powerful Woman would require ... time. Likely it would take all night to stalk, battle, and subdue her. It would be a difficult fight, but nothing so sweet, or so poweful, would be taken easily. She would be that much less sweet if too easily beaten.

Garnet stopped for a moment at her favorite spot....a tiny little park in the center of the city. It was still yet dark, but in the air hung the promise of a new day. She breathed in deeply of the night fragrances of the gardens.

Unlike most of her clients, she welcomed the coming daylight. Se chose an old stone bench to stop a bit for a rest.

"I will gladly leave the kill to you," I told Talia, laughing at the little game I had just thought of. I dropped down off the rooftop, landing neatly and silently a good distance back from the woman. As I followed her I tried to read her thoughts for a name, which was not difficult because that's all she was thinking about. "Adrian,"she was thinking. She all but strutted down the street, my nostrils flared as I caught the strong scent of sex flowing from her.

Time to try out the confusing her mind thing which Talia was expecting me to do. I closed my eyes and concentrated on her thoughts, which I could hear clearly, and projected my own into her head. "My, what a delightful alleyway," I thought at her and I could see her turn her head to look. "You'd better have a look down that alleyway, perhaps you'll find some money."I projected again, and ridicoulously I saw her leave the lighted street and enter the alleyway, her eyes glued to the ground in search of some money left laying around. I looked up at Talia and noted that she looked pleased, so I hastily followed my prey into the alley, sensing that Talia followed close behind.

"He's a great lover, isn't he?" I said to the woman, who spun around dazedly.

"Excuse me?" she snapped at me venomously, obviously wondering what right I had to talk about her man.

"Adrian," I watched as her eyes flashed suspiciously. "He's so strong, and such a huge piece of equipment if you know what I mean." I let my hands show his length.

"What are you insinuating," she asked me, hugging herself tightly against the near frigid air.

I hesitated a moment, searching for her name. Oh, how cute, he had moaned it as she was sucking on his cock.

"You're Jessica. right?" I aksed her as if I didn't already know. She nodded her head slightly. "Yeah, he's told me all about you. He said you were the worst cock-sucker he's ever met," I spat, being crude. "He told me he wished you would die, so that he would never have to fuck you again."

I could see tears welling up in her eyes and she stammered, "That's..he didn't say that..."

Her memories were flooding my mind now as I pushed back inside her mind, and I found one that I could use.

"You remember your birthday right?" She nodded tearfully. "He was late to your dinner because he was fucking me. He even told me he didn't want to go."

Did I sense disapproval from Talia, or was it coming from somewhere else? IT mattered not however, because I had this woman exactly where I wanted her. I had known she would be easy to break, from almost the moment I had layed eyes on her. And sure enough, her chin started to quiver and she started to cry in earnest, her tears coursing down her cheeks like two little rivers.

"Why...why are you tell..telling me this," she nearly choked on her own sobs.

I did my best pity face and stepped closer to her. "Isn't it better to feel the pain now, instead of six months down the road when it will be worse? By then he'll have four or five other women and not just one."

She nodded weakly and I held out my arms to her. She eyed me for a second and then tumbled into my arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

"There, there," I cooed in her ear. "It will all be over soon. Let me just tell you one last thing," I whispered. She stopped crying enough to hear me. "I lied to you, he does love you," I chuckled, pulling her closer to me. "But you do not love him."

"Why do you say that," she questioned me, resisting my arms around her now.

"Because in a couple moments, you will be dead, and you cannot love when you are dead," I said, letting her see my fangs, my green eyes burning with bloodlust. She opened her mouth to scream, but I put my hand over it, sinking my teeth into the lily white skin of her neck. It was hard to let go, but I felt Talia approaching to take the kill.

I let her body slump to the ground, she was still conscious and she looked at me with hate in her eyes.

"Don't worry, Jessica," I softly caressed her face, and then firmly cupped her chin in my hand. "I'll take care of Adrian, and perhaps he can even join you in the afterlife, but not until I've had my way with him." I smiled cruelly and backed away, allowing Talia to finish the job.

I felt pleased with myself, but I did not know if Talia would be pleased with me. How easily this woman had fallen for my lies, and I laughed just at the memory of it.

Garnet jerked suddenly, as if she'd fallen asleep. The crystal around her neck glowed brightly only for a moment before dulling once more. She clasped her hand around it, knowing that it meant another innocent had fallen.

She tried to put it out of her mind. Lately her crystal had sparked like that many times. She knew, even without the crystals help, the local vampire populaton had grown.

Garnet stood and took a good look around herself. Nothing. She was alone in the park, with nothing but the shrubs and pond around her. She sighed.

She reached into her velvet bag and produced a small vile of some sort of earthy material. Opening it, she poured the contents into her hand. Garnet closed her eyes and whispering an incantation, blew the dust into the air. It shimmered....and then formed a misty shaped dragon, no bigger than a crow, that cooed softly and spun around her before shooting off infront of her. It was an alarm of sorts. It would keep an eye out for her, informing her if she was followed or if anybody came close.

Garnet smiled to herself. It was a cheap trick. But one that worked well for its purpose.

I shivered suddenly as I felt a surge of power being released in some part of the city. That was the first time I had sensed an individual of power who was alone, usually I sensed them in groups. That must be the powerful one of which Talia spoke.

And Talia was right, that one would take work. She seemed much more powerful than I was, even though I was still exploring my powers. The fact that I could feel her magic from so far away only testified to her strength, and in that moment I vowed to myself that I would become powerful and help Talia overcome her. Not for Talia, but for myself. She was the perfect challenge for a fledging vampire wanting to prove herself, if i did not get myself killed in the process.

I positively beamed at Aurelia.

"That was perfection. Sheer poetry in action."

I laughed as I knelt beside the poor girl, and lifted her up so I could have my turn at her blood.

"You destroyed this one before you ever touched her. I am highly impressed."

I hungrily sunk my fangs into her, draining her down to the last drop of blood, then pulled back.

"It is now, that I could make her. I am sure you remember this moment yourself. But it does take something from you. You must never even consider making another vampire until you have gained in strength. It might even destroy you, at this point."

I returned to her neck, draining the last of her life. As she died, I felt a surge of power. I let her body drop, and glanced up at Aurelia. Her reaction told me she had felt it too.

"Yes, you see what I mean? She is too strong to simply let die, however. When we defeat her, we will both drink from her. It will be many centuries before you are powerful enough to take one as powerful as she. Her blood will be sweet, and I will not deny you that priveledge. However, the honor of the last drink is mine. And I will make her. She will be our thrall. Yes, ours, because while I alone will have power over her, you will be the elder vampire. I will enforce that right of yours.
"Of course, I place the proverbial cart before the horse. Daylight approaches, and she will soon be invulnerable. Even tomorrow night, I fear she may proove too much for us. It will take a long pursuit, and a long battle, before we win against her. As you have thought, it will be a worthy test for your mettle. Yes, I have read your thoughts. You are right. Conquering her will be something you can boast about. And it will bring you closer to the day you can be free of me. Don't think me so naive as to doubt your motives. Just be certain to remain my ally once you no longer need me. I would make an ... unfortunate enemy."

I glanced up at the lightening sky.

"We have tarried too long. Come, we must hurry home."

Garnet walked with confidence as the misty dragon bounded ahead of her and then doubled back. She enjoyed it's antics, and wished for a way to make it permanent.

It was moments like this that Garnet hated. Too early yet to head home, for she always made sure it was light before she went home to insure that nothing followed her. Not that it would make a difference. Hundereds of charms surrounded her home for protection. But yet her night was basically over. Her clients had come early in the night.

So much to think about in one evening. And I thought as Talia and I leaped rooftop to rooftop making our way back home. I was happy that she was pleased with me, and felt that I was learning quickly. It had been rather easy to cloud that woman's mind and read her thoughts. I attempted to read Talia's but her mind was an impenetrable fortress.

"Why can't I read your thoughts?" I asked her. "Is it because you are older than I?

Almost as soon as those words had escaped my lips. I had made a promise to the woman in the alleyway, and I wondered if Talia would let me keep it.

"Tomorrow night can we hunt her lover?" I questioned, my bloodlust rising even as I thought about it. I was eager to get my hands on him, not only to drink him dry, but also to seduce him. It had been a great deal of time since I had last felt any kind of sexual contact, and from the memories I had seen in the woman's mind, her lover was just the package I needed.

And she had spoken about making another vampire too. I would not make one, not now anyhow. But I missed my human men, and thought that someday I would turn a beautiful young human to be my companion.

We arrived at the patio, and before opening the glass door to safety, I stopped and looked at her seriously.

"You truely wish to hunt her lover? I would say, we can do that. You would have the honor of the kill. I would insist, however, that we focus on a way to attack the powerful woman. Not necessarily to take her tomorrow night, but some way to eat away at her. Think on it."

As the sun's rays begain to threaten, as the Daylight started to just peep over the rooftops, I opened the glass door to allow her to escape to safety. I waited a moment, feeling the Burn of the sun's light on my body. It was a strangely welcome feeling after so many centuries, but I did not tarry. It would sap my strength to remain in the sun without damage.

I entered my apartment, closed the door, and sealed out the light.

"I know not your ... preferences. You may have the bed. It will be a welcome change, I expect. I can sleep upon the couch if my presence in the bed is unwelcome to you."

Garnet smiled as she felt the warmth of the rising sun. The dragon circled one last time aroundher as she neared the flower lined path that let to her home. It gave a mild dragon cry before it disapeared completly. She reached out to it in a silent goodbye.

She had much to do. She would rest for a while, before waking and preparing more of the spells that she would sell. Also, she thought to make a more potent spell for protection...her encounter with the unknown vampire had shaken her a bit.

I thanked her for the bed, indeed it had been ages since I had felt even that small comfort.

What was a good way to hunt the powerful woman? Talia was certainly taking her time to do it, which meant that the woman was so powerful that it wouldn't do to just openly attack her.

"Perhaps we could try to break her spirit," I said into the darkness. "Like we did with this woman earlier. Trick her somehow, into trusting us? Maybe she would be more likely to trust a fledging vampire?" My thoughts were spinning and I couldn't come up with any other ideas.

I waited for Talia to break the silence, and could litterally feel my energy being sapped. I fought to stay awake to hear her answer, but with this too she seemed to be taking her time.

"A good idea."

My lips are inches from her ear, in the darkness given by the thick curtains.

"She offers magic. Magic that would be useful for you anyway. Yes, good thinking. Get her to trust you. Find a weakness that we can exploit. At dusk, we will go to feed, then find her. I will remain near you in case she decides she cannot trust you. We may ... have no choice but make a direct attack. Now sleep, until the sun again dies."

I slip into the bed beside her as she drifts into sleep. Facing away from her body, I allow myself to drift into the uneasy, dreamless sleep of the undead.

The sun was begining to set as Garnet locked the door behind her. Tonight She had left her long hair loose tonight. She was wearing the same black leather pants, but this time a striking red corset top. She ahd the same red velvet pouch too, but this time it was a bit fuller.

She softly kissed the amulet around her neck as she walked down the path that led away from her home.

She wondered what tonight would hold.

I awoke with the dusk, changing into a low cut sleeveless dress that reached just above my knees. I slipped 2" heeled pumps on my feet.

Aurelia remained asleep. I grinned, looking down at her. She was quite lovely, and the lingering human smell was near to overpowering. It would take a few more decades for that smell to leave her entirely.

I reached down, touching her forehead, and trailing a finger down her nose.

"It is time," I said as I gave her nose a soft flick with my finger. "Waken, so we can hunt your Man. Then, begin our attack on my Woman."

I moaned as I heard Talia's voice coming from above me. I had always slept in as a human, and as a vampire it was a habit that was dying slowly. "Ow," I said as she flicked my nose. "What did you do that for?" She was being friendly today, and I liked it.

"Let us hunt your Man," she told me and at that I eagerly awoke, clambering out of the bed. I noticed that she had changed and hestitantly looked down at my own attire. When I had escaped my home, I had taken only the clothes on my back. It had not bothered me previously, but now it was embarrassing.

"May I borrow some clothes?" I asked her.
