evening all,
I've tried searching for some info or reviews on male masturbation toys/sleeves, but it's very difficult to come up with a search term that isn't too general, or only about flesh lights...

I had one once and it was mainly a jelly type and was open ended, and very inexpensive. Kinda like you, was just trying something out and didn't want to spend alot. Anyway, the jelly type felt great, and I'm average in size as well, but it was TIGHT. Once I got enough lube used with it though if felt great, and had some small ridges on the inside and I came quicker than normal from masturbation using it, came WAY more from the tightness of it, and overall great toy. I'd say start inexpensive and see, might not be what you want and you can invest more if you find the inexpensive doesn't suit.

I am a little bit more experienced in this topic than I like to admit.

Fleshlights have a very good reputation. Yes, they're expensive, but cheaper than the nonsense that's modeled off of a porn star's rear, and probably more accurate and more pleasurable to boot. (I'm not going to be able to tell you anything about realism, having nothing to compare to, but you've probably found the testimonials already.)

There's some cheaper stuff to be found at blowfish.com if you go here. Blowfish are pretty good about testing products and only stocking the best they can find. I steered my shopping by them for quite a few years and was never disappointed.

As to cleaning, I've found that the object's dimensions matter more than anything else. If the sleeve is made of stretchy-enough material, size and design start having the most pertinent effect on whether you can turn it inside out. A Fleshlight insert is top-heavy and awkward to clean, whereas all the smaller stuff on Blowfish will flop really easily.

I started with a plastic container. I cut the bubble wrap to fit so it was nice and snug. I added a suction cup to the back of the plastic container and enjoyed many long "hot" showers. The suction cup held it to the tile in the shower and the rolled bubble wrap liner (inside of the plastic container which was stuck to the shower wall) provided all the friction needed.
Think of it as a fleshlight, but instead of a "fleshlight liner" It was lined with bubble wrap.

Then to make things more interesting I built a home made F*****g machine out of a windshield wiper motor. A little velcro held the bubble wrap lined container on a shaft protruding from the machine. Well, when it comes to the open ended masturbation sleeves, there are two advantages inherent to the design. First is that you can control the level of suction, use the open end to apply more lube, insert a bullet vibe, or let your partner in on the fun. Second advantage is cleanup.

Fleshlights are harder to turn inside out than other sleeves, but it isn't necessary to turn them inside out to clean them thoroughly. Rinse from both ends and let stand to air dry. Never use soap, as their instructions say.

I'd hate to sound like a shill for FL, but their products really do seem to be the best available. A bit bulky, but you'll never have a size issue with them compared to some of the smaller, close-ended sleeves. Removed from the case, they're similar to jellys. They're not so bulky that they're difficult to cope with when travelling. Had mine for about six months now and no tears or any other damage.

It is an instance of "you get what you pay for." For variety's sake, I'm going to check out some alternative products in the near future, but that's not applicable here yet.

I've tried more of these than I care to admit and really never got into any of them. Sorry that was a poor choice of words. I got into all of them but never liked them that much. I have the doc johnson one. It's a simple thing and it's OK. What I like about it is that I can fold it over about a third of the way down so you get sensations og varying tightness. Clean up is easy too. It's pretty cheap did the job for me. Even if you don't like it, it's not a lot of $$ wasted.
