Marvel Universe based RPG starting

Characters.......

Maybe have them all start out with one and bring in the other one as time goes on. In the beginning it will be WAY too much info for all of us to digest. I want to bring in the two I have because they complete two circles. I am considering dropping out because I won't be able to keep up...nor will anyone else. Just a suggestion on your first thread. Really really feel strongly bout this...I want this thread to last.

I will find better pics and post later. {Long post}

http://a840.g.akamai.net/7/840/1163/fde4937b5b219d/www.marvel.com/comics/characters/xtras/wolverine.jpg
Wolverine
Little is known of his past -- save that it was fraught with pain and loss. Long ago, he was trained as a samurai in Japan; later, he became Weapon-X -- a covert operative for the Canadian government. Today, the man also known as Logan is an X-Man, using his animal-keen senses, healing factor, and razor sharp claws to help protect a world that fears and hates mutants.

Real name: Logan (last name unrevealed)
Occupation: Adventurer, member of the X-Men
Identity: Secret
Legal Status: Canadian citizen
Place of birth: Unknown, presumably in Canada
Group affiliation: (current) X-Men, (former) Clan Yashida, the Weapon X Program, and Alpha Flight
Base of operations: (current) Xavier Institute for Higher Learning
First appearance: THE INCREDIBLE HULK #181

Height: 5'3"
Weight: 195 lbs.
Eyes: Black
Hair: Black

Known superhuman powers: Wolverine possesses heightened senses, making him capable of seeing things at a maximum distance greater than that of a normal human. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, and he is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if that person or object is hidden. Logan can use these enhanced senses to track anyone, with an impressive degree of success. He possesses retractable claws that are housed in his forearms. At will, Wolverine can release these claws through his skin between the knuckles on each hand. Lastly, Wolverine possesses an accelerated healing factor based on his physiology. While most normal humans heal injuries over a long period of time, Wolverine's healing factor speeds up that natural process.

History: A star member of the X-Men, whose long, checkered, and mostly forgotten past remains a mystery to him. Wolverine's confusion is compounded by his recent discovery that many of his memories were artificially implanted. It is believed that Logan served as an agent of the Canadian government, when his mutant abilities were discovered - he was put though a series of procedures that bonded the unbreakable metal Adamantium to his skeleton. Perhaps his most remarkable feature, and certainly his trademark, are the retractable Adamantium claws! As Weapon X, he worked for the Canadian government, but eventually joined the X-Men.

Thing
Ben Grimm was bathed in cosmic radiation that transformed him into a hideous creature of craggy, orange stone with superhuman strength.

Real name: Benjamin Jacob Grimm
Occupation: Professional adventurer; former test pilot, adventurer and wrestler
Identity: Publicly known
Legal status: Citizen of the United States with no criminal record
Place of birth: New York City
Group affiliation: Fantastic Four, formerly Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation
Base of operations: Pier Four, New York City
First appearance: FANTASTIC FOUR #1

Height: 6'
Weight: 500 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: (in human form) Brown, (as the Thing) none

Known superhuman powers: The Thing possesses superhuman strength, endurance and durability.

History: Benjamin J. Grimm was born on Yancy Street on Manhattan's Lower East Side, where he grew up in poverty. His father, an alcoholic, was unable to hold a job. Much of the family's income came from Grimm's older brother, Daniel, who obtained funds illegally as leader of the Yancy Street Gang. Grimm, who idolized his brother, became embittered against the world when Daniel was killed in a battle between rival gangs. Grimm was only 8 years old at the time; within 10 years, he had succeeded his brother as leader of the Yancy Street Gang. After his parents died, Grimm was taken in by his Uncle Jake, who had risen from poverty to become a successful physician. At first, Grimm resisted his new guardians' kindness toward him. But eventually, he came to return their love. He entered high school and received a football scholarship to Empire State University. There, Grimm roomed with young Reed Richards, and the two eventually became best friends.

Years later, Richards designed a starship capable of interstellar travel. When the government threatened to cut off its partial funding of the project, he decided to make an immediate test flight; his fiancée, Susan Storm, and her younger brother, Johnny, insisted on accompanying Richards and Grimm, now a pilot. In space, the starship unexpectedly encountered intense radiation, which caused the crew to abort the flight and the craft to crash to Earth. Following the freak accident, the foursome discovered they'd been mutagenically altered by the cosmic rays. Grimm was transformed into an orange-colored, thick-skinned, heavily muscled, superhumanly strong "thing." Newly elasticized, Richards convinced his fellow crewmembers they should use their newfound powers for the good of humanity. Thanks in part to the Thing's rock-hard muscle and heart of gold, the Fantastic Four has become Earth's most honored team of superhuman adventurers, having saved the world from destruction and conquest countless times.

Spider-Man
At a demonstration on radiation, high school student Peter
Parker was bitten by an irradiated spider from which he
gained the arachnid's incredible abilities. When a burglar
killed his beloved Uncle Ben, a grief-stricken Peter vowed to
use his great powers in the service of his fellow man,
because he learned an invaluable lesson: with great power
must also come great responsibility.

Real name: Peter Parker
Occupation: Freelance photographer,adventurer
Identity: Secret
Legal status: Citizen of the United States with no criminal
record
Place of Birth: New York City
Group affiliation: None
Base of operations: New York City
First appearance: AMAZING FANTASY # 15

Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 165 lbs.
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: Brown

Known Powers: Spider-Man possesses superhuman
strength enabling him to lift (press) 10 tons. In addition to
strength, Spider-Man possesses superhuman reflexes and
equilibrium, the ability to stick to most surfaces, and a
subconscious danger sense. He also employs twin
web-shooters that fire thin strands of web fluid.

History: As a high school student Peter Parker was bitten
by a radioactive spider while attending a public exhibition
on safe nuclear power. The result: Peter gained the
proportionate strength and agility of an arachnid! A few
days later, Peter went home to discover that his uncle Ben
had been killed by a burglar in their Queens home.
Distraught, Peter vowed to capture the criminal. He easily
apprehended the killer -- but to his great distress, Peter
recognized the lowlife criminal as a suspicious character he
had spotted, but ignored, just days before the crime.
Taking to heart that with great power comes great
responsibility, Peter vowed to go forth with this hard
learned lesson. Armed with his wondrous web-shooters, the
reluctant super hero struggles with sinister super-villains,
making ends meet, and maintaining some semblance of a
normal life!

Whoops, forgot that I was Kingpin as well.

Kingpin
After years as Kingpin of organized crime on the East
Coast, Wilson Fisk finally was dethroned from his seat of
power. However, Fisk has vowed to regain control of the
criminal empire that was once his, a threat not to be taken
lightly.

Real name: Wilson Fisk
Occupation: Criminal organizer and mastermind, president
and owner of legitimate businesses
Identity: Publicly known, but never proven
Legal status: Citizen of the United States with no criminal
record
Place of birth: Unknown, probably the New York City area
Group affiliation: Leader of a coalition of East Coast,
non-Maggia criminal organizations
Base of operations: New York City
First appearance: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Vol. 1, #50

Height: 6'7"
Weight: 450 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Bald

Abilities: Thanks to years of training and discipline, the
Kingpin is an extraordinary hand-to-hand combatant. These
fighting skills, coupled with his unusual agility for a man his
size, compensate for his lack of superhuman strength when
engaged in unarmed combat with heroes like Spider-Man
and Daredevil.

History: Impoverished as a child, Wilson Fisk committed his
first murder when he was 12 years old. From the start, Fisk
was determined to be the best at whatever he did.
Because he believed physical strength would help him
amass power in the underworld, he fanatically studied
various forms of bodybuilding and personal combat -- finally
concentrating on the Japanese art of sumo. Fisk educated
himself by stealing books from stores and libraries, taking a
particular interested in political science. He decided another
key to success would be the use of political techniques to
organize and direct groups of criminals.

The Kingpin takes pleasure in physical combat with his
enemies, but knows he can never allow himself to be
connected to his crimes. Consequently, Fisk has never been
convicted of any wrongdoing. Even when jailed for
personally stealing an ancient tablet from Empire State
University, charges were dropped due to lack of evidence.

After years waging a private war, Daredevil managed to
topple the Kingpin from the summit of the East Coast
organized-crime scene with the aid of S.H.I.E.L.D. But Fisk
vowed to climb back up the mountain, and has since
returned to New York after resuming his criminal activities in
Japan -- the first step toward regaining the empire he once
controlled.

Lava, Angelius, can we three get together through ims or something? Your two characters are my best shot for slipping into the thread...

Concerned, too, but confident!

To make everyone's lives a bit easier, I've included links to bios of everyone's characters in the list I've posted on the first page of this thread. I hope that we can settle in a strong storyline once the initial flurry dies down, in which everyone's characters will play an important (or, at least, interesting!) role. Trying to mix this number and variety of characters will be a challenge, but I'm only new to this format, not gaming. Compared to some of the cockeyed campaigns I've run with pen&paper&dice rpgs, this is a piece of cake. The major difference is in the quality of participants. Amongst the people who have consented to give their time to this thread are most of the people with whom I am most impressed. We've got a terrific group of players here, and I am so glad to see it! With all of your help and advice, this thread will shine.

I would ask anyone not playing a member of the Fantastic Four, the XMen, or the Avengers to take a look at those characters on the Marvel site. If a member of one of those groups appeals to you as much as your currently chosen character, please consider switching. Please don't construe this as a complaint about anyone's choice. It might make things a bit easier for all of us (especially yours truly) if all the characters came from the same area and background. Except for Spiderman, who fits in fine anywhere, the three groups consist of the major heroes of the universe, and all live and work in or near NYC.

I, myself, am not playing a regular character in this thread. I'll take care of the various NPCs needed. Please bear in mind that I only post in the morning and the late night, EST, so don't feel forced to wait for me. If you can keep the thread moving logically by writing for an NPC, go for it. This is teamwork at its best. [Besides, there isn't anything you can write that I can't work around ;)]

Height: 5'6"
Weight: 110 lbs.
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: Brown
Strength level: Shadowcat possesses the normal human strength of a girl of her age, height, and build who engages in moderate regular exercise.

Known superhuman powers: Shadowcat possesses the ability to pass through solid matter by passing her atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she is moving. In this way she and the object through which she is passing can temporarily merge without interacting, and each is unharmed when Shadowcat has finished passing through the object. This process is called "phasing." When Shadowcat is phasing, she is, for all intents ad purposes, intangible. Hence, when attacked, she can shift into a "phasing" state (even if she is not at the time passing through an object) so as to allow oncoming projectiles or energy blasts to pass through her harmlessly. While phasing Shadowcat is still vulnerable to psionic or mystical attack, however.
Shadowcat passes through objects at the same rate of speed at which she is moving before she "enters" it. Since she is unable to breathe while "inside" an object, she can only continuously phase through solid objects (as when she travels underground) as long as she can hold her breath.
Shadowcat can phase through any material object, even living people. When she phases through an object with an electrical system, the process disrupts the system's workings. She has trained herself to go automatically, by reflex, into a phasing state at any indication of danger, such as a loud noise like a gunshot, in order to protect herself.
Using her phasing ability, Shadowcat can walk on air. In fact, she can use her ability to walk on the air from the ground to the upper stories of a building as if she were climbing a staircase.
From the first use of her phasing power, Shadowcat has been able to phase her clothing along with herself. Through practice she has learned to phase other objects along with herself without harm to them, and can now phase a living person as big as her teammate Colossus along with herself. She can also enable someone as big as Colossus to "walk on air" along with her. However, she must maintain physical contact with the person or object she phases along herself for the effect to work with this other person or object.

Special skills: Shadowcat possesses moderate expertise of the martial arts of the Japanese ninja and samurai. Shadowcat is a genius in computer science. She has continued to take dance training under the tutelage of Stevie Hunter, and is highly agile. Shadowcat demonstrated great knowledge of ninja methods of combat when she was mentally possessed by the Ronon Ogun. With the possession over, Shadowcat has forgotten the knowledge of ninja techniques he gave her, but she has retained the knowledge of Oriental methods of combat taught her by Wolverine.

I'm sorry to do this as I know I just joined but I might have to leave the thread as I am going on holiday on the 1st of March and won't be back until the 12th.

I'm so sorry people but if I stay and go on holiday then this thread will possibly die and I don't want to see that happen.

That's okay, Angelius. We have enough people to keep things going, and you can jump in when you return. Thank you for your considerate warning. I'll hold your characters until your return. Have fun!

So what you are saying is I can't be Professor X
As far as Magneto what i know of him is mixed from the Cartoon and the comic
But really would rather be Xavier
But that is your choice if i can't

Sorry, Jerahmeel. I respect your enthusiasm for the character, but having a character that can basically read every thought of most villains, and take over their minds at will, just isn't conducive to good storylines.

Even in the comics, Xavier spends a lot of time incapacitated, or alone in the mansion, while the team goes out. The short period he spent going out with them on battles was a crashing failure. He can dish it out, but has no defense whatsoever, physically. A stray rock could nearly kill him.

Might I suggest you go to the marvel.com website, and check out the other XMen? Having a character who can take part in a more physical fashion should be a lot more fun, anyway.

Here comes Shulkie :D This isn't the stock Marvel bio. (Thank you Neale for the beautiful links to the bios ;))

http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/2855/shehulk2.jpg

Real name: Jennifer Walters.
Occupation in the real world: Attorney.
Nicknames: Savage She-Hulk, Sensational She-Hulk, Shulkie.
First appearance: Savage She-Hulk # 1.
Favorite quote: "Oh suck it in, Jarvis. I go where I please!" (Avengers 227)
Team affiliation: Various Avengers stints, a lengthy Fantastic Four stay as the Thing's substitute, and a brief membership in the mercifully short-lived Fantastic Force.
Powers: A gamma-irradiated blood transfusion from cousin Bruce "The Incredible Hulk" Banner gave Jen Hulkish powers: like Bruce, she turned mean, green and super-strong when she got excited. He was a bit stronger and she was a lot smarter. Jen kept her intellect as the She-Hulk, though she was much more impulsive and uninhibited in Hulk mode. In fact, Jen was happy when exposure to further radiation trapped her permanently in She-Hulk form. In the John Byrne issues of her second series, She-Hulk somehow realized she was in a comic book and gained the power to talk to readers, interact with the creative team, violate panel borders, tear through pages and so on. These reality-warping talents never applied outside her solo book.
Favorite Comic: I don’t remember the exact book, but it was from one of her solo series. She got caught topless on the top of her apartment building by a rabid reporter/photographer.

I was woundering if I could play Cable or X-man, which ever you prefer.
I will post a bio on for one here in a few

thanks
democable

Hey Neale :)

Thank you for inviting me to play! I'm really really bad with pre-conceived characters though. *cries* I'd love to have the chance to write with you sometime though...

*hint hint* ;)

Democable: Cable is fine. If you know his current status, please include that in your bio, cause I can't remember exactly what the big guy is up to these days. Welcome!

Celestiale:You've got email! Welcome! Short version of your email: [You've found my Achilles heel: Can't bear for a lovely lady to cry.] Sure, just run the bio by me via email first, please. My request for pre-existing characters was just a request, not written in stone. Characters I already know are just easier to plan for, but I'll manage. ;)

Jerahmeel:Check the first post in this thread, friend. I listed you as Magneto. Welcome!

Final pre-start post to this thread

Okay, true believers! The story is about to begin on the SRP board, titled Marvel Superheroes.

Thus far, we have strong representation from the XMen, and half of the Fantastic Four, as well as couple of other New York City based heroes.

The initial storyline focuses on those characters, with Magneto and his allies as the primary antagonists.

Ghostlyapparition, Ravenloft, your two characters are going to be... difficult... to bring in, as is Lava's Elektra. These are truly great characters, and very interesting, but out of place in this instance. To that end, I am going to ask that you find different characters, more suited to work with the others. The characters I would recommend, ones close to the ones you have chosen in spirit, are as follows:
Ravenloft: Bishop or Iron Man
http://www.marvel.com/comics/xmenfiles/bishop.html
http://www.marvel.com/comics/characters/iron_man.html

Lava: Madelyne Pryor
http://www.marvel.com/comics/characters/pryor_madelyne.html
[Basically an evil clone of Jean Grey, with greater telekinetic powers, and little telepathy.]

Ghostlyapparation: Revised Black Cat
Black Cat can work, but she needs her bad-luck powers restored to be effective. Essentially, she inflicts Murphy's Law on her opponents. Anything that can go wrong for them, will. This is a pretty strong power, so please use it with discretion. It isn't actually under her conscious control, and other people aren't usually even aware that she is doing it.

If someone wants to start yet another thread that could make better use of these lower-powered characters, please do go for it! I'd love to play in such a thread, perhaps as Daredevil. No time to run it myself, though.

Punisher could, possibly, make sense if he were somehow increased in power, but that would be a drastic change in character conception for him. The same goes for Elektra.

Psylocke

See next post for explanation.

[Edited by Isolde on 02-24-2001 at 10:05 AM]

Neale...a change of plans here if you dont mind. I am bringing a really good friend into Lit who is an excellent RPer. She is an admin at the same site I am and I have role played with her numerous times. She knows Psylocke in and out and I would like to give that char to her and play Rogue instead-as I am more familiar with her. I will still play Mistique as the bad girl as we need bad uns right now. LOL...I do hope this is okay with you.

Rouge

The young woman known only as Rogue joined the X-Men in a last-ditch attempt to learn to control the genetic attributes that are both her blessing and her curse -- namely, the ability to absorb others' memories and talents through the slightest touch. Tragically, she has yet to harness this power, and so is forced to keep those she loves most at arm's length.

Real name: Unrevealed
Occupation: Adventurer
Identity: Secret
Legal status: Citizen of the United States with no known criminal record; sought by S.H.I.E.L.D. on a charge of murder, a crime for which she was framed
Place of birth: Unknown location in Caldecott County, Mississippi
Group affiliation: X-Men, formerly the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants II
Base of operations: Xavier Institute, Salem Center, Westchester County, New York
First appearance: AVENGERS ANNUAL #10

Height: 5'8''
Weight: 120 lbs.
Eyes: Green
Hair: Brown, with a white streak

Known superhuman powers: Rogue is a mutant who can absorb others' memories and physical abilities through physical contact. In a battle with the original Ms. Marvel, Rogue absorbed the heroine's powers permanently -- gaining invulnerability, super strength and the ability to fly.

History: Very little is known of Rogue's life before she discovered her mutation, not even her real name. She grew up in Caldecott County, near the banks of the Mississippi River. One day, she kissed a boy named Cody Robbins, and he lost consciousness. Unable to shut out Robbins' memories in her mind, Rogue fled. The boy's thoughts faded in time, but the incident led Rogue to discover that she had developed the mutant power to absorb another's memories and abilities by touch. Moreover, she learned she could not control her newfound power. Rogue joined the second Brotherhood of Evil Mutants -- whose leader, Mystique, came to regard her as a daughter.

Mystique assigned Rogue to ambush the original Ms. Marvel and steal her powers so she could use them to free the other members of the Brotherhood from prison. But something went horribly wrong, and the transfer became permanent. Hence, Rogue now possesses the superhuman powers of Ms. Marvel. In anguish, she begged Professor Charles Xavier for help and was admitted to the X-Men on a provisional basis. Rogue quickly proved herself to be loyal and brave, and is now a full-fledged member of the team. Although she still has not learned to control her absorption power, the emotional support Rogue has found among the X-Men has greatly improved her state of mind. Later, when the team was living in the Australian outback, Ms. Marvel's memories were somehow removed from Rogue after she entered and re-emerged from the mystical Siege Perilous.

Mistique

Real name: Raven Darkholme
Other aliases: Mallory Brickman
Identity: Secret
Occupation: (current) Special operative for Germany and the United States governments, (former) German Freedom Fighter, special operative in the Weapon X Project Team
Legal status: Citizen of the United States with no criminal record
Place of birth: Unknown
Marital status: Married
Known relatives: Rogue (unoffical foster daughter), Ralph Brickman (husband), Gloria Brickman (daughter), Graydon Creed (son, deceased)
Base of operations: Arlington, Virginia
Group affiliation: (former) Founder and leader of the third Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, now known as Freedom Force; X-Factor
First appearance: (as Raven Darkholme) MS. MARVEL #16, (as Mystique) MS. MARVEL #18

History: Little has been revealed about Mystique's past. Indeed, since she can eliminate the outward signs of aging with her shape-changing power, it is not known exactly how old she is. She apparently learned to use her shape-changing power at a very early age, for there is no evidence known to the public or the United States government that Raven Darkholme ever looked like anything but a normal human being. Years ago Mystique had an affair with the mutant Sabretooth and they had a son, Graydon Creed, the recently assassinated presidential candidate (see Sabretooth). Mystique has also claimed to be the mother of Nightcrawler, a member of the X-Men, as the result of a liaison with another, unnamed man (see Nightcrawler, X-Men). Mystique is known to be a longtime friend of the mutant Destiny who is now deceased (see Destiny). At some point in recent years Mystique became the protectress of the young mutant named Rogue, and looked upon Rogue as a surrogate daughter (see Rogue).
At the same time she maintained another identity, that of Mallory Brickman, the wife of U.S. Senator Ralph Brickman. They even had a daughter, Gloria.
Mystique had concealed her superhuman powers and criminal intentions so well over the years that, as Darkholme, she was able to rise rapidly through the United States Civil Service to the trusted position of Deputy Director of the Defense Advanced Research Planning Agency (DARPA) in the United States Department of Defense. This position gave her access to military secrets and to advanced weaponry, both of which she used for her own criminal and subversive purposes.
To help her in her criminal activities, Mystique organized the third incarnation of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, which originally consisted of herself, Avalanche, the Blob, Destiny, and Pyro (see individual entries). Mystique named her group after the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, a subversive organization founded by Magneto in his criminal days (see Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Magneto).
The third Brotherhood first became notorious when it attempted to intimidate the public by assassinating Senator Robert Kelly, who was investigating what he perceived as the possible menace posed by the existence of superhuman mutants and other superhuman beings. The X-Men thwarted the assassination attempt, and the Brotherhood later clashed with the X-Men on other occasions, as well as with the Avengers and Dazzler (see Dazzler). Rogue was a member of the Brotherhood for a time, but finally left to join the X-Men, in order to find help in learning how to deal with her superhuman powers.

Recently, anti-mutant sentiment among normal human beings has greatly increased, and the federal government has launched its own covert anti-mutant program, Project Wideawake. Believing that the times had thus become too dangerous for the Brotherhood to continue its criminal activities, Mystique went to Dr. Valerie Cooper, special assistant to the head of the National Security Council, and offered the Brotherhood's services to the government. Cooper agreed to convey the offer to the President, on the condition that the Brotherhood pass a test she imposed: the capture of Magneto. The Brotherhood, now renamed Freedom Force, succeeded in bringing Magneto to the authorities (although, in fact, they did so only because he voluntarily surrendered to them), and soon afterwards officially entered the government's employ.
In return for entering the government's employ as Freedom Force's leader, Mystique received a presidential pardon for all criminal charges against her, but the pardon would be revoked if any member of Freedom Force was found committing a crime.
Recently, Mystique fled X-Factor and hid from them by returning to her secret identity as Mallory Brickman, the Senator's wife.

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Eyes: Yellow (no apparent pupils when she is in her true form)
Hair: Red-orange (black in her usual human form as Raven Darkholme
Strength level: Mystique possesses the normal human strength of a woman of her physical age, height, and build who engages in regular exercise
Other distinguishing features: Grey-black skin in her true form
Known superhuman powers: Mystique is a mutant metamorph. She can psionically shift the atoms and molecules of her body and of whatever clothing she is wearing so as to change her and its appearance. As a result she can cause herself to look and sound like an exact duplicate of any human, humanoid, or semi-humanoid being of either sex, wearing virtually any kind of clothing. Her control is so exact that she can precisely duplicate another person's retina pattern in her own eyes, finger, palm and skin-pore patterns on her own hands and skin, and vocal cords to match voices to the point of corresponding voiceprints.
Mystique, however, is limited by her inability to diminish or increase her own mass at will. As a result, while she can make herself look exactly like a person who is physically bigger than herself, she will not weigh as much as the real person does. Although she can maintain the form of a person of her height, weight, and build indefinitely (as with her own appearance as Raven Darkholme), the longer that she maintains the form of a person physically bigger than herself, the greater the strain she feels. If she maintains that bigger form for too long a period, the length of which is directly proportional to the difference in size between that form and her normal one, she will collapse and automatically revert to her normal form.
Mystique cannot duplicate the powers of the person she imitates: for example, when she turned herself into a duplicate of Nightcrawler, she did not gain the ability to teleport.
As yet Mystique has not demonstrated any ability to adopt the form of non-humanoid beings, animals, plants, or non-living objects. It is conjectured that she could not imitate any of these without interfering with the proper functioning of her internal organs and possibly dying, but the truth, like much regarding Mystique, remains shrouded.

*grins* now that is a bio...I put the whole thing up here for me to refer to as much as anything else.
