Psylocke AGAIN!

My pic didn't show. Ratz, ratz, ratz..k. I'll post a bio then. ;)

Real name: Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock
Other aliases: (former) Captain Britain II, Lady Mandarin
Identity: Secret
Occupation: (current) Adventurer, (former) Fashion model, operative for S.T.R.I.K.E. Psi Division, (as Lady Mandarin) Assassin
Legal status: Subject of the United Kingdom with no criminal record
Place of birth: Braddock Manor, England
Marital status: Single
Known relatives: James Braddock, Sr. (father, deceased), Elizabeth Braddock (mother, deceased), Brian Braddock (Captain Britain, brother), James "Jamie" Braddock, Jr. (brother)
Base of operations: The Xavier Institute, Salem Center, Westchester County, New York State, (former) Braddock Manor, England; X-Men headquarters, Australian outback
Group affiliation: X-Men, (former) S.T.R.I.K.E. Psi Division (British division of S.H.I.E.L.D.)

History: Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock is the daughter of Dr. James Braddock, who was once a denizen of Otherworld, an other-dimensional realm. A being who called himself Merlin (but who may not actually be the wizard of Arthurian legend) sent Braddock to Earth to father the champion who would be known as Captain Britain.
Living in England, Dr. Braddock became one of the United Kingdom's leading research scientists. He married a woman named Elizabeth and they bought the mansion they renamed Braddock Manor. There Dr. Braddock created a highly advanced computer complex called Mastermind (which is not to be confused with the two mutants of the same name).
Dr. and Mrs. Braddock's three children, the eldest, Jamie, and the twins, Brian and Elizabeth (nicknamed "Betsy"), inherited genes from their father that endowed them with superhuman powers. The children's powers, however, remained latent for many years.
Dr. and Mrs. Braddock were killed in an explosion in Dr. Braddock's laboratory at Braddock Manor that was caused by the malfunctioning computer Mastermind.
Brian Braddock eventually became the costumed champion known as Captain Britain. Betsy developed the psychic ability which she used in the service of S.T.R.I.K.E., a British division of the international law enforcement agency S.H.I.E.L.D. Betsy also developed a highly successful career as a fashion model. She knew of Brian's double identity, and the two siblings took up residence in Braddock Manor.
Members of a British government agency called R.C.X., knowing that Brian Braddock was Captain Britain, attempted to recruit him to work with them. Refusing to be exploited by the government, Brian Braddock gave up the role of Captain Britain. The R.C.X. agents then persuaded Betsy to become the new Captain Britain, working with them. Betsy used a costume taken from an otherdimensional counterpart of Brian, which magnified her strength to superhuman levels when she wore it and enabled her to fly. Another other-dimensional hero, Captain UK, trained Betsy to become a crimefighter, and the two acted as partners on missions together for many weeks.
Finally, Betsy launched her solo career as the new Captain Britain, which came to a quick end when she went into battle against two of the original Captain Britain's arch foes, the Vixen and Slaymaster. Wearing a battle suit that amplified his own strength, Slaymaster savagely beat Betsy nearly to death and blinded her. Sensing her telepathic cries of agony, Brian Braddock rushed to his sister's rescue and fought and killed Slaymaster. Realizing he could not forsake his responsibilities, Brian resumed his role as Captain Britain.

Betsy went to Switzerland to recuperate. While there she was taken prisoner by the other-dimensional creature known as Mojo (see Mojo). Mojo took control of Betsy and gave her new, artificial eyes, thereby restoring her sight. Betsy was rescued through the intervention of the New Mutants, a team of adolescent mutants (see New Mutants). Having regained her free will, Betsy chose to remain at the New Mutants' home, Professor Charles Xavier's mansion in Westchester County, New York, which also served as the secret headquarters of the mutant adventurers called the X-Men (see Professor X, X-Men).
Betsy proved her courage to the X-Men by resisting the attack of their enemy Sabretooth when he broke into the mansion (see Sabretooth). As a result she was accepted into the ranks of the X-Men, becoming a costumed adventurer once more under the code name Psylocke.
Later, Psylocke was captured by the crimelord Matsu'o Tsurayaba. Seeking to save the life of his lover, the female assassin Kwannon, Tsurayaba oversaw a process through which the minds of Kwannon and the X-Man Psylocke switched bodies. In the process Kwannon's mind melded with that of Psylocke, endowing each of them with the same memories and telepathic abilities. Tsurayaba brainwashed Psylocke and turned her over to one of Earth's most dangerous men, the Mandarin. Under the name of Lady Mandarin, Psylocke briefly served the Mandarin, but ultimately Psylocke regained her free will and returned to the X-Men.
Later Kwannon, in Psylocke's body, became an ally of the X-Men, calling herself Revanche. For a time there was confusion among the X-Men as to who was the "real" Betsy Braddock. Finally, Revanche learned that she was dying from the Legacy Virus and had Tsurayaba kill her. Thus Betsy's original body died, but she lived on as Psylocke in Kwannon's original body.
Recently, Psylocke and her fellow X-Man, Angel, have fallen in love with each other (see Angel). Psylocke was nearly killed by Sabretooth, but was healed by magical forces from a mystical dimension called the Crimson Dawn. However, Kuragari, a sinister being who had conquered the Crimson Dawn, attempted to corrupt Psylocke's personality through a mystical ring. Kuragari planned to make Psylocke his queen and through her father a genetically powerful bloodline. However, together Angel and Psylocke thwarted Kuragari, and Psylocke's mind is now free of Kuragari's influence.

Height: (both bodies) 5'11"
Weight: (both bodies) 155 lbs.
Eyes: (original body) Violet, (current body) Blue

Other distinguishing features: Red tattoo over her left eye
Strength level: Psylocke possesses the normal human strength of a woman of her age, height, and build who engages in intensive regular exercise.
Known superhuman powers: Psylocke possesses many telepathic abilities, enabling her to read minds, communicate mentally with others over long distances, stun the minds of others with "mental bolts," control the minds of others, and create illusions in the minds of others. Psylocke can intensely focus her psionic powers into her "psychic knife," with which she can stun or kill an adversary.
Other abilities: Psylocke is highly skilled in Far Eastern martial arts.

*grins* Thanks Neale. You will really like this lady she is a gem.

Sorry to do this to you people but I decided to change character to one that is more me.

Gambit

Always an outsider, Remy LeBeau was shunned as a youth
because of his strange burning-red eyes. Eventually, he
realized he was a mutant -- gifted with the ability to
charge inanimate objects into explosive projectiles.

Real name: Remy
LeBeau
Occupation: Thief
Identity: Secret
Legal status: Citizen
of the United States
with no criminal
record
Place of birth: New
Orleans, Louisiana
Group affiliation:
X-Men, Thieves Guild
of New Orleans
Base of operations:
New Orleans and the
Xavier Institute,
Salem Center,
Westchester County,
New York
First appearance:
UNCANNY X-MEN
#266

Height: 6'1"
Weight: 175 lbs.
Eyes: Red
Hair: Brown

Known powers: Remy LeBeau possesses the mutant ability
to transform an object's potential energy into kinetic
energy through physical contact. He can then use the
kinetically charged object as an exploding projectile.

History: Orphaned at birth, Remy LeBeau was adopted by
the legendary Thieves Guild of New Orleans. To seal a
peace pact between the Thieves Guild and the rival
Assassins Guild, Gambit married the granddaughter of the
head of the Assassins Guild. But Bella Donna Boudreaux's
brother objected to the arranged marriage and challenged
Gambit to a duel. Severely wounding his opponent, Gambit
was forced to flee New Orleans to prevent war between
the guilds.

Wandering the world, Gambit plied his skills as a master
thief. During this time, he was employed by the genetic
engineer called Mr. Sinister. Unable to control his
burgeoning mutant abilities, Gambit submitted to an
operation whereby Sinister reduced his power to a more
controllable level. In return, Gambit helped Sinister
assemble a team of assassins. He did not realize Sinister
would employ the Marauders to annihilate the underground
community of mutant outcasts known as the Morlocks.

Later, Gambit partnered with the X-Man Storm, who turned
to theft after having been transformed into an amnesiac
child. When Storm regained her memory and true age, she
sponsored Gambit's admission into the X-Men. As an X-Man,
he became enamored of his teammate Rogue. However,
Gambit could not escape the specter of his past. When the
full extent of role in the so-called "Mutant Massacre" was
revealed, Rogue and the X-Men left him to fend for himself
in the frozen wasteland of Antarctica. Eventually, he
rejoined the team.

Trapped in the past during a solo adventure, Gambit turned
to the era's Sinister to reactivate his full potential power in
a successful bid to get back to the future. But to defeat
the New Son -- a doppelganger of Remy LeBeau from an
alternate reality who feared his counterpart would become
so powerful as to inadvertently destroy the planet as he
had his own -- Gambit pushed himself to the limit and
"burnt out," returning his power to its normal level.

Following the disappearance of his adopted father, Jean Luc
LeBeau, Gambit assumed leadership of the nearly decimated
Thieves Guild.

Thread character update

So far, so good! The only characters we seem to be lacking are Mr. Fantastic and the Human Torch, of the Fantastic Four. I encourage anyone reading this, who is thinking about joining our thread, to please consider either of these characters. May I point out that Mr. Fantastic is married to the Invisible Woman (aka Featherlight)? The Human Torch is reknowned for his prowess with half the female superheroes in the country?

Other villains would be good, too. Villains don't have to be pre-existing ones, either. If you have a good villain idea, please let me know, and I'll work you in.

Excelsior!
Neale

Mister Fantastic
Celebrated around the world as much for his keen intellect as his superhuman abilities, Reed Richards commands not only the respect of his peers, but the love of his devoted wife, Susan, and their son, Franklin. But the Fantastic Four's leader bears a tremendous burden of guilt over the fate that befell his best friend, Ben Grimm, as a result of his own misguided -- if well-intentioned -- actions.

Real name: Reed Richards
Occupation: Scientist, adventurer
Identity: Publicly known
Legal status: Citizen of the United States with no criminal record
Place of birth: Central City, California
Group affiliation: Fantastic Four
Base of operations: New York City
First appearance: FANTASTIC FOUR, Vol. 1 #1

Height: 6' 1''
Weight: 180 lbs.
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown

Known superhuman powers: Mr. Fantastic is capable of converting his body into a highly malleable state at will. As such, he can stretch, deform, expand or compress himself into any contiguous shape he can imagine.

History: Reed Richards -- the only son of wealthy physicist Nathaniel Richards and his wife, Evelyn -- was a child prodigy with special aptitude in the areas of mathematics, physics and mechanics. Nathaniel encouraged and guided the youngster in his scientific studies, and Reed was taking college-level courses by the time he was 14. At State University, Reed Richards met two individuals who would come to play an important role later in his life. Initially, he was assigned to room with foreign genius Victor Von Doom, who took an immediate dislike to Richards and sought other quarters. Richards instead bunked with Benjamin Grimm, who became the budding scientist's closest friend.

Years later, Richards designed a starship capable of interstellar travel. When the government threatened to cut off its partial funding of the project, he decided to make an immediate test flight; his fiancée, Susan Storm, and her younger brother, Johnny, insisted on accompanying Richards and pilot Grimm. In space, the starship unexpectedly encountered intense radiation, which caused the crew to abort the flight and the craft to crash to Earth. Following the freak accident, the foursome discovered they'd been mutagenically altered by the cosmic rays. Newly elasticized, Richards convinced his fellow crewmembers they should use their newfound powers for the good of humanity. Under his leadership, the Fantastic Four has become Earth's most honored team of superhuman adventurers, and has saved the world from destruction and conquest countless times. Richards eventually married Susan Storm; they now have a son, Franklin.

Human Torch
Mutagenically transformed by the cosmic rays into the hot-headed hero Human Torch, Johnny Storm helped found Earth's most honored team of superhuman adventurers: the Fantastic Four.

Real name: Jonathan "Johnny" Storm
Occupation: Adventurer
Identity: Publicly known
Legal status: Citizen of the United States with no criminal record
Place of birth: Glenville, Long Island, New York
Group affiliation: Fantastic Four Base of operations: Pier Four, New York City
First appearance: FANTASTIC FOUR #1

Known superhuman powers: The Human Torch, who possesses the mental ability to control ambient heat energy, can transform his body into living flame upon command. In this state, Storm can fly and expel bolts of fire in varying degrees of intensity, up to a super-charged nova-blast. His uniforms and clothing are made of unstable molecules, which enable him to "flame on" without damaging them in any way.

History: Jonathan Storm, the second of two children born to a physician and his wife, grew up comfortably on Long Island. But a trip to California to visit his sister, Susan, forever altered Johnny's life. Sue's fiancé, aeronautical engineer Reed Richards, was building a starship capable of interstellar travel. When the government threatened to cut off its partial funding of the project, Richards decided to make an immediate test flight; Sue and Johnny insisted on accompanying Richards and his friend, pilot Benjamin Grimm.

In space, the starship unexpectedly encountered intense radiation, which caused the crew to abort the flight and the craft to crash to Earth. Following the freak accident, Johnny discovered he'd been mutagenically altered by the cosmic rays. Update on Cable Bio

Real Name: Nathan Christopher Charles Summers
Affiliation: None
Previous Affiliations: X-Force, New Mutants, Clan Chosen, Six Pack, Clan Askani.
Status: Widowed (Aliya)
Aliases: Nathan Dayspring Askani'son, Nathan Winters
Relatives: Summers family
Powers: Originally, an impenetrable forcefield, which developed into telepathy, telekinesis and a latent time-travel ability.

History: The son of Cyclops and the Jean Grey clone Madelyne Pryor, (Nathan) Christopher Summers was born while
his father and the X-Men were in France after their return from Asgard. Due to his mother's insistence that Cyclops leave the X-Men, and Scott's subsequent loss of his leadership to Storm in a duel, the entire Summers family moved to Alaska. However, soon after Scott traveled to New York (to find that Jean Grey was still alive), the Summers home was attacked by the Marauders and young Chris was captured and brought to Mr. Sinister, the man who had engineered his existence. He remained in Sinister's lab until just before Inferno, whn his mother, now the super-powered Goblin Queen, came to take him back. Madelyne was going to scarifice Chris in order to permanently establish a portal between Earth and Limbo. The baby's fear was so string that it reached across the ocean to his "sister" Rachel, who came flying to the States from the UK, bringing Excalibur in her wake. In the end, Madelyne was defeated and she died, so Chris went to live with his father and Jean (who had inherited Madelyne's memories and so was pretty much the same as the baby's mother) in X-Factor's Ship. It was soon apparent that Chris was a very powerful mutant, as before he was a year old he was capable of generating an impenetrable forcefield around his body. This ability could at times be a liability, as it tended to repel Jean's TK. Life went on about as smoothly as possible for a super-powered family until the fateful day that Apocalypse, a long-time foe of X-Factor, sent his Dark Riders to attack Ship. During the battle, Ship was infected with a techno-organic virus and blew up, although it managed to lift off and save X-Factor. The mutants arrived atthe Inhuman city of Attilan in the Blue Area of the Moon. They teamed up with the Inhumans to defeat Apocalypse, who had established a base there, but at a terrible price. While his minions fought the heroes, Apocalypse had captured Chris Summers and infected him with a techno-organic virus that was killing him. After Cyclops blsted Apocalypse to bits, a mysterious time-traveler appeared calling herself Askani. She told Scott that she could save Chris, IF she could bring him to the future. Cyclops agreed and gave up his son to save his life, knowing that he would never see him again. Thankfully, this was not the case. Almost as soon as Chris arrived 2000 years in the future, the Clan Askani was attacked by Apocalypse's forces. Apocalypse ruled this era, and only the Mother Askani, who was really Rachel Summers, and her followers opposed him. As the attack began to wipe out the last of the Askani, Rachel put into motion two other plans: the first was to clone Nathan Christopher, who was dying from the T-O infection, and the second was to bring the minds of Cyclops and Phoenix forward to her time into specially prepared bodies, so that they could raise Nathan Christopher and protect him from Apocalypse. Unexpectedly, Nathan survived, but the clone was captured by Ch'vayre and was raised by Apocalypse to become Stryfe, the Chaos-Bringer, Cable's mortal foe. For 12 years, the Dayspring clan (as Slym (Cyclops), Redd (Jean) and Nathan came to be known) moved through Apocalypse's realm, hiding their true natures from the High Lord and just being a family. Redd was constantly teaching Nathan how to use his powers to control and hide his T-O infection. Finally, however, the Prelates caught up with them as Apocalypse was preparing to transfer his essence into the powerful young body of Stryfe. Clan Daysrping and some allies ended up breaking in and fighting Apocalypse. During the battle, Nate was contacted by his "sister" Rachel, who helped him fight off Stryfe before she finally died. The Daysprings were victorious, and Apocalypse died after failing to assimilate Stryfe, but immediately afterwards, Slym and Redd were pulled back to the 20th Century, as the Askani psychic powers holding them there finally wore off. Nate was left alone, but soon became fast friends with Tetherblood, and the two traveled the world together. After Apocalypse's death, the New Canaanites came to power, but were no better to the average citizen that their predecessor. During one Canaanite raid, Nate was injured, and his techno-virus flared up. Then, Nathan was contacted by the mysterious Blaquesmith, who sensed something within Nathan and pulled out a sentient energy field that called itself "Professor" (and which was the remnant of Ship). Nathan and the Professor were linked, and the Professor helped Nathan regain control. Blaquesmith told Nathan that he must go to Ebonshire, where the last of the Askani would train him in his powers so he could fulfill his destiny. Nate remained in Ebonshire only a short time, as the Askani were betrayed by 'Strator Umbridge, and the village was destroyed by the Canaanites. However, Nate met Aliya, the Askani novitiate who would train him and eventually marry him. After the fall of Ebonshire, Nathan, Aliya and Nate's best friend Tetherblood founded the Clan Chosen to pick up where the Askani left off. After fighting both the Canaanites and Stryfe for years, trying to return freedom to the people of Earth, the Clan Chosen had grown to a large size. Unfortunately, during one battle, Styfe set a bomb that killed Aliya, and also captured her son Tyler. Cable led a team into Stryfe's base to rescue his son, but it was too late. Tyler had been brainwashe into serving Stryfe and managed to trap Dawnsilk, one of the Chosen, with a neural tap, which would destroy her mind. Cable was forced to shoot Tyler to save Dawnsilk. Shortly thereafter, Stryfe used his Zero unit to travel back to the 20th Century as a means of escape. Cable followed Stryfe to the past, but was disoriented on arrival. He met Moira MacTaggert and then Professor Xavier, how helped him acclimate to this era. Later on, Cable incorporated the Professor into the space station Graymalkin, and was able to use its technology to teleport through time and space. As a front for his search for Stryfe, Cable organized and led the mercenary group the Six Pack, which was very good at what it did. It was during this time period the Professor found evidence that Sam Guthrie had apparently survived into the 24th Century. This indicated to Cable that Sam was an External. On one mission for the mysterious Mr. Tolliver, however, their fortunes changed when their intended target turned out to be Stryfe's base! Cable was shocked and Stryfe escaped. The Six Pack, having broken their contract, were hunted all over the world. Finally, Cable tracked Stryfe down and tool the Pack with him to the new base to steal Stryfe's command files. They got in and got the disk, but Stryfe had laid a trap. With nowhere to go, Hammer decided to give Stryfe the disk, but Cable freaked and shot his teammate in the back. Stryfe retrieved the disk anyway, and then detonated the base. While Cable got out, his teammate Kane was caught in the blast and lost his limbs, later replaced with bionics by Department K. After the Six Pack disbanded, Cable continued his mission to find Cannonball, and ended up trying to save Rusty and Skids from Freedom. Unfortunately, the M.L.F. had other ideas, and broke the mutants out of Federal custody themselves, getting Cable caught in the process. Cable quickly escaped and soon ran into the New Mutants, who were at the time staying with X-Factor. The kids were under attack by Freedom Force, and Cable's intervention helped them turn the tide and defeat their foes. Cable took over the leadership of the New Mutants, moved them back into the ruins of the X-Mansion, and began molding them into a harder-edged team. However, shortly after the mutants were captured and put on trial in Genosha, the New Mutants roster had dropped to two, so Cable began recruiting new members like Thunderbird II and Domino. Then two more refugees dropped into their laps, and the team reorganized under the name X-Force. In one of X-Force's first battles, Sam was impaled by on of Sauron's talons and was apparently killed. When he awoke (as Cable had gambled he would) Cable explained to him that he was an External. Shortly thereafter, Domino betrayed the team and destroyed their base, but not before the kids escaped. Domino was revealed to be Copycat, and Cable was presumed to have been caught in the explosion. In reality, Cable returned to find the real Domino, who was being held captive by Tolliver. At that time, Cable's old friend Kane (who now bore a BIG grudge against him) was tracking the M.L.F. and found out that Stryfe looked exactly like Cable. Kane hunted Cable down, confronted him with his evidence, and the two of them went after Stryfe. They failed to capture him, and Kane was once again injured, but Cable saved him by bringing him to the future. Months later, X-Force was shocked to see Cable shoot Professor X on television. Cable managed to elude the combined X-Teams long enough to gather some data from Department K, although he was confronted by Wolverine and Bishop, who gave him the benefit of the doubt after he teleported them all to Graymalkin. Cable joined the X-Teams in the final fight against Stryfe on the Moon and seemingly perished when he and his clone we sucked into a temporal vortex. Cable survived, Stryfe did not. However, Stryfe managed to porject his mind into Cable, and was sharing space with him for a while. Finally, Sinister told Cable that HE was the original Summers child, and Stryfe was the clone, and Cable convinced Stryfe to let go and accept death. Cable then returned to X-Force in time to assault Avalon in order to get the Professor out. Cable tried to blow up the station, but was badly wounded by Magneto. The Professor was again integrated into Cable's body for awhile, as he recuperated. Later on, when Legion went back in time to try to kill Magneto in the past, Cable used his latent time-travel ability, with the help of Xavier and Phoenix, to project himself back in time to contact Bishop, causing him to remember the ture timeline and reverse the Age of Apocalypse. Cable's powers had increased by this point to much greater levels, and he was using his telepathy and telekinesis much more easily. He moved X-Force back into the Mansion, but they left him when Bastion began Operation: Zero Tolerance and Cable wanted them to accept new identities. Soon after, Cable saved the life of Irene Merryweather, a reporter who was being hunted by the Hellfire Club. Irene became Cable's chronicler, taking down his story for posterity. By this point, Cable realized that is was HIS destiny to fight Apocalypse and prevent his timeline for coming to pass. His powers were growing to incredible leverls when the Shadow King's telepathic shockwave hit and completely depleted his powers, causing the T-O virus to rampage out of control. Only the Psi-Mitar, brought to this time by Ch'Vayre, allowed Cable to survive. The Psi-Mitar became Cable's chief weapon. He soon fought the Herald of Apocalypse over New York City, and with the help of the Avengers managed to keep the villain from destroying the city. Finally when Apocalypse made his bid for ultimate power, Nathan was revealed as one of The Twelve and was captured. Unfortunately, he could not defeat Apocalypse because the High Lord had Death III threaten to kill Caliban. Cable was forced to surrender, and even worse, to later stand by and watch as his father sacrificed himself to stop Apocalypse. After the final battle, Cable joined the X-Men to honor his father. Six months later, Cable became embroiled in a battle between two spirits of the group called the Undying, as well as between the two timelines spawned from the result of that battle, the Ranshi Empire and Harmony. Each timeline sent forces from 2000 years in the future to the present, where Cable was said to be the nexus that would determine which timeline would survive.

NEW LINKS INFORMATION

Got off my lazy butt and did some more thorough web searching. I have found two EXTREMELY good resource sites. Every character thus far mentioned can be found upon them, as well as pictures, current storylines, etc. I recommend them highly.

http://www.sigma.net/ozbot/marvelhandbook/
http://www.comicbookresources.com/resources/links/Marvel/

The first is a terrific unofficial update to the Handbook of the Marvel Universe, and the second is a links page to all sorts of sites.

Enjoy!

Poohlive: Welcome aboard! Now JJJ has someone to pick on.
Jerahmeel: Juggy is on the first site, I checked
Mackdaddy: Haven't forgotten the search. I suspect that a careful perusal of those two sites may yield positive results. If you find something, let me know. I'll search, myself, as time permits.

Place of birth: Unrevealed
Marital status: Unrevealed
Known relatives: None
Base of operations: The Xavier Institute, Salem Center, Westchester County, New York State
Group affiliation: X-Men
First appearance: X-MEN (first series) #327
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 190 lbs.
Eyes: Blue-grey
Hair: White
Other distinguishing features: Joseph's physical appearance is identical to that of Magneto in his early twenties.
Stength level: Joseph can use his magnetic powers to increase his physical strength up through Class 100 (the ability to lift over 100 tons)
Known superhuman powers: Ability to control magnetism and other related forces
History: The mutant known as Joseph was found, sick with fever, by small children who belonged to the Holy Sepulchre Orphanage in Guatemala. Sister Maria de la Joya of the orphanage nursed him back to health, but he proved to have no memory of his past. One of the orphans who had found him, Migdalia, gave him the name Joseph. Over the following months Joseph displayed the superhuman ability to manipulate magnetic forces. Sister Maria suspected he might be the mutant terrorist Magneto, who had recently vanished, despite the fact that Joseph seemed to be in his twenties, making him younger than Magneto had been (see Magneto). However, she was willing to give him a second chance in life.
At one point criminals captured Sister Maria and the children in order to force Joseph to aid them in fighting law enforcement agencies. In rescuing the hostages Joseph slaughtered their captors. The children, who had grown to love Joseph, were horrified, and he knew he had to leave. Sister Maria told him about the team of mutant adventurers called the X-Men, and Joseph left for the United States to seek help from them (see X-Men).
The X-Men believed Joseph to be an amnesiac Magneto but nonetheless allowed him to join their team. Like Magneto, Joseph has grown quite close to team member Rogue (see Rogue). Joseph's subsequent encounter with Magneto's former minions, the Acolytes, convinced him that he had indeed been Magneto (see Acolytes).
However, recently Magneto has reappeared, and so the question of the true identity and origin of Joseph remains unresolved.

Base of Operations: (current) The Xavier Institute, Salem Center, Westchester County, New York State, (former) Cassidy Keep, County Mayo, Ireland; The Beat Street Club, New York City; Muir Island, Scotland
Height: 5'6”
Weight: 112 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Red

Strength level: Siryn possesses the normal human strength of a woman of her age, height, and build who engages in intensive regular exercise.

Known superhuman powers: Siryn is a mutant who has the ability to create various sonic effects through the combined action of her vocal cords and limited psionic powers which can only be used in conjunction with the sounds she produces. She inherited these powers from her father, who has the same abilities. By focusing her sonic vibrations into an intense beam, Siryn creates what she calls her “sonic lance,” which can shatter any known solid substance except adamantium and vibranium. Siryn can use her “sonic lance” at a lower intensity to stun people into unconsciousness without doing them injury.

Siryn can also use her sonic powers as a form of sonar (SOund Navigation And Ranging). Siryn's vocal cords and the interiors of her throat and mouth are superhumanly tough, so that the intense pressures and constrictions that she produces do not cause her any injury. While using her sonic powers Siryn also automatically and psionically creates a force field which protects her body from the destructive effects of the sound she creates. The force field only protects Siryn against her own sonic vibrations and nothing else, and can only be activated when she is using her sonic powers

Siryn can use the sonic vibrations of her scream to propel herself through the air. Although it might be expected that emitting sound waves from her mouth would propel Siryn backwards, since for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, this is not the case. Siryn's psionic abilities cause the acoustic energy to flow behind her. Siryn's psionic abilities enable her while in mid-flight to temporarily stop screaming to speak or to employ her scream to perform other sonic feats.

History:
Theresa Rourke is the mutant daughter of Sean Cassidy, the mutant now known as the Banshee, and Maeve Rourke. At the time of his marriage, Sean Cassidy worked as an Interpol agent, and not long after was sent on an undercover anti-terrorist mission which kept him out of touch with his family for about a year and a half. Neither Sean nor Maeve knew at the time he left that she was pregnant. Maeve remained at Cassidy Keep, the family castle, during her pregnancy and the time immediately following Theresa's birth and so relatively few people knew of Theresa's existence.

Sometime later Maeve was killed in an IRA (Irish Republican Army) bombing along with a number of other people. Those who knew of Theresa's existence assumed that she too had been killed in the explosion, which had left the corpses of its many victims unrecognizable, and decided not to tell Sean Cassidy that Maeve had had a daughter in order to spare him additional grief. Unknown to Sean, the baby Theresa had been found after the explosion by his cousin Black Tom Cassidy, who, suspecting that she might be a superhumanly powerful mutant as he and her father were, decided to raise her secretly himself. Theresa's sonic powers, inherited from her father, emerged at puberty, and a few years afterwards Black Tom began enlisting her aid in committing crimes. However, Theresa's heart was never in a life of crime, and she pursued it only because the man who raised her, Black Tom, ordered her to do so. (Although Black Tom Cassidy is actually Theresa's cousin once removed, she called him “uncle” as a mark of respect.)

Eventually, Theresa accompanied Black Tom and his partner, the Juggernaut, to San Francisco to assist him in crimes. Here, employing the name Siryn, she battled the original Spider-Woman and several of the X-Men. This conflict ended in Black Tom's temporary capture. While in custody, Black Tom exonerated Theresa of responsibility for her crimes and wrote a letter to Sean explaining who she was. The X-Men brought Theresa back to their headquarters, where she was joyfully reunited with her father. For a time Siryn joined the Fallen Angels, a band of young superhumans, hoping to keep them out of trouble. Later, she lived for a while at Moira MacTaggert's Mutant Research Centre at Muir Island where she had a brief romance with Jamie Madrox, Multiple Man (It was later revealed that it was in fact one of his duplicates).

She eventually came to join X-Force, the mutant strike team organized by Cable. As a testament to her skills, Theresa was made the deputy leader of X-Force after Cannonball graduated to the X-Men. Later, Theresa began somewhat of a romance with Deadpool but it was quickly put to rest due to his lack of involvement with her during Zero Tolerance. Soon Cannonball returned to his “roots” in X-Force and soon after Theresa was injured by Feral in a fight with the “New” Hellions. She had lost her voice and her powers and was staying with her aunt, expatriot irish author of strange and quirky mystery novels, Victoria Donnely a.k.a. Aunt Tori,in Looking Glass, California. (note: Victoria is actually Maeve's cousin). Recently Theresa's throat was healed with the help of Deadpool and was last seen flying off with him.

EYES: Blue
HAIR: Black

STRENGTH LEVEL: Without his armor Tony Stark possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in moderate regular exercise. His armor magnifies Stark's strength to superhuman levels, enabling him to lift (press) roughly 70 tons.

KNOWN SUPERHUMAN POWERS: None

ABILITIES: Tony Stark is a genius who is responsible for numerous major discoveries, inventions, and other achievements in various areas of technology.

WEAPONS AND PARAPHERNALIA: Iron Man wears a sophisticated suit of body armor containing various specifications of which are described below.

SPECIFICATIONS: Iron Man Armored, Flight Capable, Environment Suit, Mark X

DESIGNER: Anthony Stark

MAJOR CONTRACTOR: Avengers West Coast (disbanded)

ARMOR EXTERIOR DIMENSIONS:
HEIGHT (overall): 78''
WIDTH (overall): 34''
WIDTH (short axis): 21''
WEIGHT: 425 lbs.

ARMOR COMPOSITION:
SURFACE/PRIMARY LAYER: Molecularly aligned crystallized iron over a base of titanium nitride. Metalized paint is of a precise thickness to destructively interfere with RADAR band microwaves.
SECOND LAYER: Comprised of various thermoelectric generators, temperature insulators and regulators
TERTIARY LAYER: Consists of two independent, ''crimped'' armature electric motors that are aligned at right angles to each other which can simulate human musculature movement
SPECIAL FEATURES: Each layer possesses integrated communication, power-handling and control circuitry - with regions which contain certain large area specializations, such as the simulation of a specific muscle.
NOTE: Suit's microscopic chain mail is made rigid by numerous computer-controlled magnetic beam generators. These generators can sense and amplify the suit wearer's motions and strength. Discrete networks of them are arranged, in conjunction with the full-body system of DC motors, to mimic the function of human musculature.

ARMOR ARTICULATION MOTIVATION:
MUSCULATURE ENHANCEMENT: The armor enables its wearer to lift (press) approximately 90 tons under standard operating conditions.
LIMITS: When directly tapping a sufficiently potent power source, the armor can be boosted to Class 100 strength (able to lift in excess of 100 tons) for several seconds at risk of having a total systems seize-up.

POWER SUPPLY:
TYPE: High density storage battery, AC/DC electricity
PRIMARY: Beta particle generator, creating constant current from passing beta particles that continually bombard Earth
SECONDARY: Solar power converters, regrouped in microscopic ridges for improved collection efficiency, arrayed on shoulders and headpiece.
TERTIARY (back-up): Increased efficiency conversion of electric field potentials into usable electricity.

ARMOR SYSTEMS CONTROLS:
TYPE: Automatic, computerized, body motion following
SUB-SYSTEMS: Local networks of muscle groups and high-density computers which control large scale movements such as walking
SPECIAL FEATURES: Armor is composed of finely tessellated mail which can minimize sudden compressions, such as a blow, by radially dissipating the energy throughout the suit
ARTICULATION SEALS/REENFORCMENT: All magnetic. Due to microscopic construction, seal topology allows a 4.5 inch diameter wrist cuff (for example) to have a practical circumference of 12 inches. This allows for a greater area over which a magnetic seal can be effected.

LIFE SUPPORT:
RANGE: High altitude to deep water: 130,000 feet above to 1,800 feet below sea level
AIR SUPPLY DURATION: 1.2 hours
PRESSURE: Normal atmosphere (14.7 pounds per square inch) maintained internally over a wide range of external pressures
TEMPERATURE: 73° Fahrenheit internal, from -185° F to 2,500° F external; 85° to 140° F internal, from 2,500 to 15,000° F external

ENVIRONMENT DESIGN PROGRAM:
TYPE: Full spectrum chemical, biological, nuclear environment
RANGE: Two months on filtered external air
EXPOSURE: Low-level radiation over 2 month period' suit can tolerate short periods of high radiation by stepping up magnetic beam generator's activity

PROPULSION SYSTEMS:
TYPE: Electric powered turbines in boots jet pack
MAXIMUM SPEED: Mach 1.2 (960 mph)
LIFE CAPACITY: Normal flight configuration 3,200 lbs. High thrust: 5,300 lbs.
RANGE: N.F.C.: About 2,000 miles (100% load), 3,900 miles (50% load). H.T.: About 800 miles (100% load), 1,000 miles (50% load), about 7,500 miles (unloaded, ballistic flight)
FUEL: Solar energy converted to electricity to power exceptionally efficient turbines

WEAPON SUB-SYSTEMS:
OFFENSIVE:
MAJOR: Repulsor rays
DESCRIPTION: Particle beam emission units; microscopic matter projected at the speed of light. Speed can be reduced cybernetically by dampers at point of origin to lessen power level and control destructive force.
RANGE: 100 yards
LIMITS: The suit palm blasters are able to fire for very short periods of time. The duty cycle allows for a 25% cooling period.
SECONDARY: Uni-beam
DESCRIPTION: The uni-beam is the blanket form for all of the armor's various light and force beams (visible, infrared, ultraviolet, tractor, laser, image inducer and electromagnetic pulse)
range: 50 yards (approx.)
TERTIARY: Pulse bolts
DESCRIPTION: Plasma discharges that build in intensity as they travel through atmosphere, picking up static charges
RANGE: 200 yards (after traveling maximum range, pulse bolts dissipate, unable to hold cohesiveness due to static overload)

DEFENSIVE:
PRIMARY: Energy shield
DESCRIPTION: Laser-absorption grid generated by armor to convert incoming energy source into stored power or to create power feedback to the offensive source.
SECONDARY: Electromagnetic pulse (E.M.P.)
DESCRIPTION: Energy-dampening field generated by armor. For a six-minute period, the E.M.P. disrupts all energy sources within a 50-yard radius of the armor (a small solar back-up, shielded from the E.M.P., allows armor's life-support to continue during this time at minimal function)
TERTIARY: Stark R.F.S. Mark X Targeting Computer
DESCRIPTION: Although this computerized system is used in offensive tactics (i.e. repulsors, pulse bolts), it also, possesses the defensive capacity to lock-on and track incoming targets (up to 60 at one time). All information is relayed to L.E.D. read-out in helmet visor.

Okay, I surrender. The X-Men threads seem beyond resuscitation, so I will (somehow) make the time to run a thread for the very first time. If anyone wants to play the part of any Marvel-based character in a Marvel-Universe based thread, please send me an email, or post here. The thread will begin Saturday morning, to give people time to contact me. I would ask that people stick to existing Marvel characters, if at all possible. It would make it a LOT easier for me to present appropriate challenges if I know the character well, and I know Marvel characters well enough. ;)

Hello, True Believers!

I realize things have been a little slow to get off the ground, and I am grateful everyone is bearing with me. Very soon now, things are going to definitely pick up! In order to handle it well, I'd like to ask anyone who hasn't posted in the last couple of days to either post something or email me, so I know you're still interested. Thanks!

Hey Neale did you get my letter I am no onger on AOL if you need to write me it Jerahmeel@Yahoo.com I also have ICQ and Yahoo messanger

ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS:

A major twist [or more than one ;) ] is about to occur. I will post it late this evening (around midnight, EST). If at all possible, please make some sort of post prior to then, so I can be sure of who is still with us, and where they are. If you are not able to post prior to my post, don't worry about it. This is only a request, and I can work around anyone who can't get a post in before my twist hits.

Thank you all very much,
Neale

Guys Im really sorry I havent been posting but my computer had died...yes I over used it. It should be back on line in about a week or 2 at the most. I dont know what to do about shadow cat though? Neale any suggestions??

am I missing something? or is this thread on hold?

No, not on hold. It's been going for a bit. The main thread is over on the SRP side.

Hey, Cryo!

Anyone is welcome to join, but I ask that you email me a character description first, so I can make sure you fit in okay with the established characters. Any Marvel Universe character is likely to be just fine, and original characters are cool, too, so long as I get a chance to look at them first.

So, anyhow, here's my contact info, to save you the bother of looking it up:
