Maryland is for lovers?

Hello! Who else is looking forward to another round of MD weather roulette? Lol Next week should be fun...

:cathappy:

Local First Dates

Hey Marylanders (and friends), let's play a game. Plan the perfect first date in your part of the state and tell us all about it. It doesn't have to be a date you've actually been on, but it does have to be unique to your local area - let's say within a half-hour or so of home. Spare no expense, and plan a date to dazzle us.

I'll go first.

###

We're going to the MGM Casino for dinner - Voltagio Bros. Steakhouse. It sounds like an odd combination, but I promise you the cheddar biscuits with fresh apple butter are amazing. And the steaks ain't bad either.

After dinner, we can walk through the foyer and admire the extravagant seasonal floral displays. They're always amazing. If you have a sweet tooth, we can get some dessert from the patisserie.

Then it's into the casino. What's your game? If you're not a gambler, I'll teach you Roulette and we'll split a stack of chips. We can take a break in one of the lounges and either drown our sorrows or celebrate our victory. What are you drinking? I'm simple. Usually a local beer or a gin & tonic. Sometimes a cocktail on the menu will catch my eye though.

After drinks we can stroll out on the terrace. Do you dance? Hm, maybe if they're playing the right music. Otherwise we can watch the Capitol Wheel light show, or look at the lights of DC. The wind off the Potomac can be brisk, but I'll hold you close and keep you warm.

We can see the Wilson Bridge all lit up from up here too. The view of DC is even better from the observation platform halfway across the bridge, but it's a long walk and neither of us is wearing the right kind of shoes. Maybe next time? It's a date.

Who's next? Make us want to come visit you.

Clear skies and upper 30’s today is going to feel like spring!

I’m a winter guy, but enough is enough...

The sun today is just teasing us. Get you spirits up and then the rain or snow will come back just in time for the weekend.

Echo the sentiment StarGazer. I’ve been saying Happy Valentines Day to all my geriatric patients today. Seemed innocuous to me, but may have led to some confusion in retrospect :D

Maybe it brought back some past erotic Valentines day memories for them. :)

I think it's a kind gesture, thank you. I hope you and all the lovers of Maryland had a lovely Valentine's day too! I hope everyone got to feel special.

Good to see a post on the thread from you RK. :)

How was your Valentines day? Chocolates, roses, special dinner?

My understanding is that in some Asian countries the woman gives the man chocolates or other small gifts on Valentine's Day Feb 14 and that on March 14 the man is suppose to return the favor with gifts to his lady.

Hmmm, I seemed to have missed out on the chocolates and other gifts yesterday.

I've heard of that tradition too, I think it's sweet (pun intended;)!). I understand that although store bought isn't taboo, hand made chocolates are favorites.

I'm afraid my Valentine's Day was spent too busy with classes. My Dom was busy too, so I understood. And then they called off the whole relationship this morning. :( I don't like talking about people behind their back or name dropping so I dont want to say anymore.

(Sorry if that's depressing. I'm okay! The year is young!)

Not sure if I am reading this right since the "they" throws me but the Dom relationship got called off? If so, sorry to hear that.

I am sure the year will bring us all opportunities for some passion. Just a matter of taking advantage of the opportunities when they present themselves. Hoping for more passion in my life this year.
