Thanks, waverlysgirl! I'd picked up a Baltimore Citypaper, but they don't have the DC version around here, and certainly not the Blade--and I did find one room for rent. Looks like it's closer to where I am now, and hopefully fewer pets inside... Not that I mind, but 4 large dogs in one small townhouse is a little much.
My gratitude is inexpressible without possibly offending Waverly himself, so I'll just say thanks ;)

Susano--two things

1. You may also find listings (at least for apartments, if not rooms to share) at http://www.gazette.net -- click on the section for Frederick or whatever is closest to where you're looking.

2. Waverlysgirl is a she.

Good morning all! For being a Monday I agree with Roman it's a glorious day! Hopefully I'll get to ride around with the top off today and bask in all the sunshine.

I trust that everyone had a wonderful weekend? I enjoyed an awesome day at the Salisbury Zoo yesterday with my son. It was so nice that even the crocs made an appearance wwhich thrilled him to no end.

Hugs all around and I'll chat some more after my morning service call!

peace...

Morning, morning!

FallScorpio, I thought A Man Apart was wretched wretched dreck. I loved Pitch Black, and Knockaround Guys was cool... even XXX and Fast & Furious were alright - mmm, Vin Diesel - (sorry, drool ;) ) but this, was Crap.

Now, ya wanna rent a movie - go get yourself Secretary. We picked up that & X-Men, and Secretary kicked sooo much ass he's now kidding me that he's gonna have me in a collar in six months. Not very likely, because I just get the giggles sometimes. I'm really not serious enough about anything to be serious about BDSM, and so many props - sheesh!

LitTogether - The 9th! I can make it on the 9th! Wooooo hooo!

It has been a very very very lovely weekend. I did too go outside, Roman, thank you very much! And there were many indoor activities as well, including him cooking really good stuff (soup, stir fry, tacos, and I mean COOK) and reading and watching movies, and guitar playing.

Hope everyone here is having fun, too - good luck looking for a place, Susano - my advice, don't have sex with the person you rent from - one of my more shining bad judgements last fall. It got UGLY.

Anyway -
later, Marylanders, and happy belated, BethAnne!

I really wanted to see that when it was in theaters, but of course its release was rather limited...James Spader really finds some interesting roles to play, doesn't he? I definitely need to pick up the DVD or video sometime soon...

Well, I've got one ok and one bad review for "A Man Apart". I have to admit that I thought the plot seemed a little thin and worn out. I mean, how many times can you do the "good cop goes bad cause wife gets killed" thing?! I will be renting Secretary this week though. Thanks for the tip BethAnne!

I am hoping that the afternoon goes faster than the morning did though. I want to get out of this office and enjoy the wonderful weather for a few hours at least!

peace...

Oops!! Sorry about the mix-up! That's what I get for not reading thoroughly when I post a reply. Then let me thank Watergirl for the tip and thank BethAnne for keeping me straight.

~need to vent~

Ok need to vent here..has nothing to do with any topics at hand i dont think but I need to get this off my chest so to speak...

Why is one person can make another doubt themselves soo much..make them question the very thought of someone loving them enough to be with them for always and to beleive they will be enough forever??? HUH??? how..and why is it some men (i only use this as a point of reference, am not man bashing by any means i know woman do it to) find it easier to keep their woman weak, scared and make them feel liek the mean nothing....and have them with no self esteem than to have them be who they are..and who they want to be...?? why?? My sister..a very dear woman to me has been through this and now has man in her life who loves her with all his heart and being and every ounce of him is hers...as she loves him the same. She knows how he loves her and they will marry in 2 months. Yet she still feels he will leave her when someone better..prettier and thinner comes along. Says she has faith in him and his love but still.......

good god...i only wish i could take the man who made her feel she shoudl doubt everything..even her own self worth and slowly torture him..make him feel worthless and ashamed...~growls~
am i angry yes.....because no matter how much this man tells her she is it forever she does not want to see it..or beleive it...and it frustrates me to no end.....

I was in an abusive relationship ONCE...got out to..was married to the SOB...and well I had to find a way to regain MYSELF and feel worthy of love and life...which i did ..i only wish i could help my sister get there to....~sighs~ for everyone deserves unconditionally love and honesty and everyone (well there are some exceptions, like those that make another feel this way) deserves to feel worthy...

ok im done..sorry for the outburst...

i hope everyone is having a great monday and well possibly got to enjoy the weather..its gorgeous and whats up with a lit get together for the thread???

~

YOU'RE WELCOME,

Susano-san,

I hope your housing situation gets cleared up, soon. Don't worry about the gender mix-up, it happens a lot in cyberspace.

Hello, y'all! Monday was great! Tuesday should be around 80 degrees! Yippeee!

Watergirl, I hadn't heard about the Secretary. It sounds like fun. I will try to rent it. I bought Miss Congeniality, South Park's First Season and AB Fab's Fourth Season over the weekend. I will be busy for a while. I have too many movies I still need to see in the theaters. I also bought Patton, having never seen it before. What a great movie. GC Scott was incredible. Of course, this is old news to all of you who've seen it. "paper-hanging son-of-a-bitch." LOL.

Regards,

WG, the other

If any of us knew the answers to those questions, we'd be millionaires! I'm sorry your sister feels that way about herself. I've known a few women like that and I couldn't say anything to change their behavior.

WG

Oh my dear!
it happens all the time...i've been living it personally
and found the strength to get free (although the details are proving hard to work out...)
and yes, it takes time to trust that you are actually lovable after such an experience.
with time and prayer your sister will be fine...
but i wouldn't hesitate to suggest some counseling with a good psychologist too...i live near you, don't know where your sister lives though, and i reccomend my psychologist without reservation...he's picked me up and put me back together and is teaching me how to make sure this never happens to me again.
another thing your sister has going for her is YOU!
my own sister as well as my close friends at lit have literally carried me during some of this...
don't give up on her...encourage the counseling...
and i'll keep her in my prayers!
*hugs*
Beth

Hi, all - another gorgeous day! Ahhhhhhhhhh. That's the kind of weather I've been wanting.

Hope everyone has had decent Mondays!

I seriously need to keep up

How long has it been since I've posted? I can't even remember, I doesn't feel like that long but I look today and there is so much stuff I can't even read it all Haha. I actually tried getting onto Lit yesterday but it was taking ages to load which is really weird because I have cable internet so I just gave up on it. Maybe others had a similar experience yesterday afternoon? Anyway, I've been studying because I have a lot of crap going on... I hate mid-terms... Yesterday I played soccer, it was SO sweet I had a blast!

Saw A Man Apart... it was decent but really violent. It actually really suprised me because I'm not one to be against action movies but I notice a lot of intense action in this movie. In a way it was a little disturbing that I'd come to tolorate seeing so much violence as if it were normal. Maybe someone else saw it and didn't notice it that much, I'm not sure why I left the theater feeling like that, certainly I've seen some really violent movies in the past. It was strange. Anyway, its a rental movie, don't spend your 9 bucks on it now.

Well, I've got to go. Just wanted to check in with you all!

Hello to all the people that I've noticed posting here that probably don't recognize me since I haven't posted much recently. Welcome!!!

MoZ
