Masculinity is a dying breed

I know that men these days do get mixed messages. Some of us- myself included, were raised to be kind, strong, and decent, chivalrous and respectful. Then, we see women falling for the crass, crude, macho, beer-guzzling tough guys driving jacked up pickup trucks, while they complain to the decent/chivalrous/respectful types about what a jerk their husband/boyfriend is.

While the decent/chivalrous/etc types wonder, what the heck did we do wrong, where the Saint ShelAnntagonists of the world choose the crass bully redneck ass hat types over us?

It's that mixed message. You think you are doing the right thing but it's really the wrong thing. And you do the wrong thing and everyone thinks your an ass hat (including the woman in your life) but yet... you still get rewarded for your asshattery.

No, Mr. IcanHoratiowhateverthefuck. All I was trying to do was steer this into an actual, meaningful conversation, and failed- in part because 1) Ann Tagonist was simply trolling and had no interest in actually having a meaningful conversation in the first place and 2) you and your sock-puppet army came in and crapped all over this thread.

Except for their cats, some are single into old age and die alone. Some don't want anything to do with men, others simply can't control themselves. They eat too much and get dumpy. When they realize they are no longer desirable to men they get angry and mean and become man-hating Karens.:(
