Medical Question

A complete, massive sinus infection. I've been put on $150 worth of antibiotics for the next three weeks. They think it's been developing for months, due to the completeness of the infection.

My antibiotics are guaranteed to make me horribly sick, but, they'll cure what ails me, we hope.

Thank you all, for all of your thoughts and prayers.
I've been watching this thread, and am glad it's not more serious! :rose: I had the same result in May. It coincided with the pain shortly after a car accident and a migraine, so of course they went straight to the CT in the ER. With the injury and extra stress, that stupid infection took multiple long courses of major antibiotics to kick.

Take care of yourself, L, and as icky as it is, irrigating with warm (cooled down after boiling) salt water (2 teaspoons per quart/liter) WILL help you feel better and kick it...I wish I'd learned that earlier in that infection. :)

Very pleased to hear it is only a serious sinus infection, and not something you need to really worry about.

Try magnesium oxide pills

As long as your migraine is not due to something else, try small doses of magnesium oxide. I read somewhere that most people with migraines are defiecient in magnesium. Magnesium is needed for strong bones and is necessary for life. Start with small doses, like half of one pill, because it is also a mild laxative, but you will adapt quickly. The article suggested a dose of 400 mg a day, which is quite reasonable, but work up to that amount. Good luck.
