Gentlemen! I'm doing some research for a scene in a story. I'd like any answers I can get from those of you who shave down there.

1) what kind of razor do you use? Especially on your testicles. Is the ball sack hard to shave and how to you assure you don't cut yourself?

2) Have you ever BEEN shaved rather than doing it yourself? If yes: was the experience erotic? Did you get and maintain an erection and, if you did, how did the person shaving you work around it?

I use a mach 3, the same thing I use on my face. But, I'll only use it twice down there. I kind of stretch my sac to shave, haven't had any problems. My taint (give me a better word and I'll use it) is different. I cut myself there about every 4th shave, but never that bad.

Nope. Sorry, too much of a control freak. However, I find an erection makes it easier to nic myself around the base, so I try to avoid getting aroused while shaving.

I decided to surprise my SO and shave down there one day. First let me say that all razors are not created equal. I attempted to use my mach 3 and that did not go well at all (cuts...pain). So I decided to shower and forget the idea, when I saw my SO's intuition razor hanging in the shower. I thought, what the hell and I gave it a try. In combination with the hot shower it worked great (even on the sack) and was super smooth. It made sex very interesting. After about 3 days the hair started to grow back and about drove me crazy. For those not in the know, Intuition Razors are women's razors (triple safety razor) with a band of soap around them. You use them in the shower, which wets the soap so that it lathers you skin as the razor glides down. Hence you lather and shave almost simultaniously. I was shaved by a nurse, in the hospital, while being prepared for abdominal surgery. After she had shaved off my pubic hair, which I had been told would be done, I remember feeling relieved because I was thinking we were done, and I had only started to become aroused. The ever so popular Mach 3, when I actually use a razor. I know a lot of people have trouble with it, but Veet works just fine for me as long as I don't leave it on too long. So I use that most of the time. I can get spots I can't see, razor burn and cuts aren't an issue, and I get less skin reaction after.

When shaving, the sack can be a bit tricky, but as long as you keep the skin tight, it isn't as big a deal as you might imagine before taking a razor to it the first time. Where I have more trouble is the areas I can't see. Having a razor at my sphincter when I can't tell what I'm doing is very unnerving!

Yes, my wife has shaved me. We both admitted after the first time that it was the most erotic experience we'd shared together! Haven't tried a hot towel, but now I'm gonna have to. I respond better to cool things as far as my erection is concerned, so my guess is a hot towel isn't going to do much for that - but I think it could be good for the skin and preventing razor bumps and ingrown hairs.

Tips and tricks?

I use Clearasil facial wash on the skin after shaving or Veeting (is that a word?) and kind of scratch lightly as I'm lathering it in. It sounds kind of silly, but the wash is very mild and is designed not to irritate the skin - and it, along with the light scratching action, exfoliates the skin and reduces itch, razor burn, ingrown hairs, and breakouts (rash or pimples). Afterwards, a bikini cream works pretty well at keeping the itch down... plus of course, the more you do it, the less itch you'll have anyhow.

If you use a razor, make sure it is sharp!!! And don't go over an area repeatedly. Once or twice, that's it. If there are stubborn hairs that avoid the razor, get them tomorrow. Going at it too much shaves all the skin away and leaves only hair! Owwwch!

If you use Veet or something similar, don't use that fake plastic bladeless razor thing - use a wet washcloth. Far less harsh on the skin and much more effective. Apply the stuff to your sack absolutely last - a minute or less before you're ready to start removing - and remove there first. My skin can handle the Veet perfectly well everywhere except on the sack. Don't leave that stuff on the scrotum for long. And you don't feel it until after you're done. Then your sack burns like hell!

I have been shaving for a couple of years now. I have found it easiest in the shower. The Mach 3 works for me, with a good soaping of all of the equipment. I do the shaft, sack and taint area, rarely nicking them. I also trim the area above my dick, just to keep the hairs under control. I just take my time and ensure there is plenty of soap on the area to be shaved. I stretch the unit and my sack, much like you would do with your facial area.

The feeling of being smooth is awesome and I think my wife is used to it. At least she isn't spitting out hairs any more.

Have never had her shave me, though it would be awesome. Am trying to line it up to happen in bed, so that we can both be relaxed for the shave.

I looked up on the internet how to shave, and I took some info from whay I read and what I tried. I kinda do give myself a barber shave using a large facerag and just a normal razor. Never really had a problem with cut or anything I basically shave every other day or somtimes I go as much as 4 to 5 days when the hair is just starting to become noticeable. I would go in that direction if this was regarding a real situation...however, speaking as a writer of erotic tales, shaving is FAR more erotic to write about than waxing. First, because it involves so many elements. The wetting of the skin, the cream, the razor, the pampering of the shaven skin afterwards. Second, because it can be done slowly--a quick rip just doesn't have the same teasing nature. Third, because it does involve some thrill of danger, the razor in another's hands, delving into vulnerable and intimate parts.

For an erotic story, a razor is very much the way to go. For real life, however, waxing might be far faster, easier, and more effective.
