Menstrual Hut

I cramped so bad last night that I cried and actually screamed.
I've never had cramps like that in my life. It went on and on for about 30 minutes.

I actually felt like I was having a fucking baby. My back was splitting and I had to breathe like that crazy breathing shit. I had sweat and tears and all runnning down my cheeks and forehead.

Then I felt an odd rumble in my gut and then I FARTED!

My cramps were bad still, but the trapped fart was making my womb freak out really bad, and making a super sharp stabbing pain.

:D

That brings to mind a question? Has anyone else had a period where all they felt like was that they had a big poop to take, but it is just so swollen in there that everything is all fucked up and pressured?

I get a similar reaction. I think it has to do with the cramping that also seems to accelerate my bowel. Ah well, it is just my body doing its housekeeping. If it is going to empty one portal, it might as well empty the other, too.

"I enjoy being a girl!"

Starfish: I've never had that, but I have friends who get gassy tummies around their periods. Take Phazyme! It breaks down the surface tension in the intestinal bubbles, so they dissolve into smaller and smaller bubbles until the pain is gone. They work fast, and have no bad side effects. They're also great after a carne asada burrito followed by a quesadilla with a side of guac & sour cream. :)

Sounds like me every damn 28 days, for the last three months - I wish that it would ease up completely once I had "released a little wind" as my Dad puts it - but I am normally in screaming mode right thru my period.

I just hope that that OB/GYN appointment isn't too much longer in arriving - I want this sorted out sooner rather than later. I am tired of being in pain whether I am bleeding or not...

<sigh> Rant over...

Thanks for the advice Laurel. I'll look into it, but I wouldn't be suprised if I couldn't take that stuff. It is probably chalked full of added color. If not, I'll test it out. I am however, not farting anymore. :D

Kiss and Viv, I hope that you guys can get some relief too.

Thanks, Starfish. Mine isn't so much gas as just activity. Such a lovely time of month, and since it has been going on for 35 years, I am not anticipating relief.

I get to be quiet today. That is a nice change and now the sun is out. I sat in the hot tub this morning and then took a nap. Husband took child out. What more could a bleeding momma want?

Bringing fresh homemade chocolate truffles

Hello ladies
I am almost finished, and am feeling much better. As I had stolen a whole plate of cookies from tswyk, I am returning with fresh truffles for those of you who feel the chocolate craving. Happy eating, hope everybody feels better soon. :)

I went to the OB/GYN today. Had my annual, and talked to him about the problems I've been having. Turns out, all the horrible things I was thinking, were a little over the top. I have a uterine infection that should clear up with anti-biotics. If not, I have to go back in 14 days.]

Cross your fingers that this is all that's wrong with me, ok?

PCG.. thank god..*hugs* My appointment isn't until next month. I pray mine is okay.

Started my period last night. SO had to tell me it was about time to start. Funny how he knows.. isn't it? I had no headache this time.. and the flow (so far) is real light.. I hope it stays this way.

Welcome Brown Eyes!

Okay, I must say....Thank God Freakygurl is a decent Human Being!

I feel like such a selfish ass. I am sorry I didn't see the good news you shared PCG. It is always so good to have the doctor give you better news than what one fears before going in.

I hope and will pray that nothing more is wrong.
:)

Ergh. :( Fuck, shit, damn. I hate this.

Well, at least my breasts will stop being so painful in a day or two.

*sigh*

I have PMS.

I feel miserable, snappy, pathetic, whiny and completely unloved/unloveable.

As I have been sitting in the corner for the past couple of days, I am feeling much better and able to offer you some sympathy and my corn bag if you need it. You can feel all the miserable things you want and I promise to tell you that you are right except you know that you are always loveable it just those assholes that make you feel that way that are fucked up.

You can dig them, just keep them outside the tent, okay? I do like a tidy little corner and I get a couple of more days.:)

It's ok Fishie. Thanks for the well wishes.

And Freaky *hugs*

I just hope that the infection is all that's wrong, and it's not masking something else. He did say that the infection was bad enough that my uterus was swollen to about 6 times it's normal size, and that's why my pants weren't fitting right. I just thought I was getting fat again!

The antibiotics suck... grody metallic taste in my mouth, and I can't drink AT ALL while I'm on them or for at least 3 days after I'm done. Something that powerful can't be good for me, can it?

I'm thinking of you PCG. I hope healing blessings find you soon.

Hugs to you too, Fishie.

To the rest of you wonderful women, I hope your pain and discomfort eases. :)

Ugh... I have my period for the first time in nearly 8 months. It's super painful as always but more so than usual. I'm on 20 mg of Toradol every 4 hours for this and tonight it isn't even touching the pain. I know there is something seriously wrong with this picture but until I get insurance I can't afford to find out what it is.

Any suggestions on helping with the pain?

Lots of red raspberry tea... red clover... both with honey and cinnamon.

*hugs* dusty

thanks raindancer, i'm sure i'll be fine, regardless of where this goes.

Thank you PGC... I will try that tomorrow. If the pain doesn't go away within the next few hours I have to go to the ER for an IV *icky* I hate needles. They are quick to medicate but never to find out what is wrong.

I hope that your problems get worked out soon. I really do feel for you. I hope that the infection goes away soon and that, that is all that there is
*hugs*

Oh Dusty you poor thing, I can completely understand your reluctance to go to the hosptial, I am as bad - BasilDD has to pick me up and drag me down there, even when the pain is really bad.

In the UK they are also quick to give pills and potions and can't be bothered to find the cause, I have been waiting 3 months so far for a specialist appointment, and my case is considered fairly urgent... (I would hate to think how long they would keep me waiting if I wasn't classed as "fairly Urgent")

Oh well thats life!

Hope the herbal tea helps a bit, I know it eases it a little for me, as does avoiding dairy produce...

Hope the rest of you are feeling better soon too - I am recovered for a week or so, but here for support if anyone wants a chat or rant...

:D :rose:

pagancowgirl,

That all sounds pretty scary to me. I absolutely hate the wait for the "verdict" on what is wrong. Hopefully it is already getting a little better. A little meditation and lots and lots of water! If the antibiotics are that strong, I hope you are eating yogurt or taking acidophilous pills. All you need is a yeast on top of everything else!

Dustygirl,

Your period length being so unpredictable makes it hard to help much. If you have an idea about when it is going to come, Ibuprofen or Naproxyn taken routinely the week before your period helps. It has to do with the interference with the prostiglandins that cause menstral pain. My cramps aren't bad enough to make me take a pill that routinely, but when I have taken ibuprofen, it definately helps. and drink lots and lots of water.

Again, the answer for every health related ill seems to be water!

I am leaving the hut this morning. My tampon is out and I am ready to face the world with just a little pad to catch the last.

Have my corn bag. Put it in the micro for 3-4 minutes and the warm moist heat helps everything.

Heh... I know I look like shit this morning. Jenj called me and I went to bed, I finally got to sleep but as soon as the Toradol wore off and took the edge away I was up the rest of the night. I guess I really should go in for an IV. But I don't want to since I don't have insurance. ER trips are costly.

They think that my problem is one of two things but wouldn't run to the tests to find out... After worrying me with it. The dr thinks that I have Uterine Cancer (Cancer of the Uterus) or Endometriosis. I think the latter is better to have? Willfulbrat said that she thinks the government will cover medical expenses for serious things like that. I sure hope so. She is going to help me check.

Yes.. I need to find a health food store and see if I can find some good herbal tea like mentioned

Yes.. It is very unpredictable. This is the longest I have gone without one. Good thing I don't have to worry about being pregnant when I am this late lol. And the first thing the doctor does is run a pregnancy test lmao. LIke that will do any good. They just don't get the point that I am a lesbian lol not to mention that I am in a long distance relationship.

I can't take ibuprofen anywhere near my period because of the Toradol, not to mention that ibuprofen makes me bleed profusely. It acts as a blood thinner in me and causes nosebleeds and such. I could try to the Naproxen, it's pretty closely related to the Toradol though which is Ketoprofren.

I drink a good 10-11 glasses of water a day ;)

Yes... Tried a rice bag and it didn't seem to bring much relief. Basically I am just going to tough it out and go shopping for a little gift for my Jenj.
