Muscular Physique?

Like many others have remarked, I'm not a fan of the veins-popping out, bulgy muscles everywhere look, but my husband is VERY muscular and toned, big shoulders, big arms, awesome pecs, muscly back, strong abs... and he is one man I have always been able to look at and say "Damn, he's hot!" I have been with men of all different body types, and while I can be head over heels for a guy's personality and the chemistry between us, I will not be hot for his body if it's not toned and proportioned. That's not to say a guy has to be as big as my husband--I had a bf who was VERY lean and VERY sexy, but there was still some roundness and definition from muscles that he worked on. And of course a guy who is obsessed with diet and lifting and his own appearance, that's a huuuuuge turn-off.

i like somewhere in between. i don't find professional body builders to be attractive or couch potatoes. i like a strong man who takes at least a little bit of pride in his appearance.

sexy is what sexy does

Well it seems that we all agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some like muscles and most like a combination of muscles & mental. But there is nothing sexier than a beautiful woman with confidence and a good head on her shoulders.

P.S. Tomahawk? you know that i am a man of respect. So tell the hubby the soldier said DAMM! youre fine.(WEG)

Women like robust, healthy, strong men. I dropped 60 pounds but am still pretty solid and strong. I could lose a few more pounds and still intimidate, but I find that women generally prefer a man you cant push over. The idea isnt to scare other men, the idea is for them to look at you and think, kicking his ass is too much like work.

Wowser, James. You should of showed that av before. Nice!
PS Not hitting on you. Just sayin you have a nice av.

I think there is a missing undertone in what you've written that holds a universal truth. There will always be cultures of people who are attractive to each other. Women who aroused by martial artists will find them attractive for reasons other than mere physical beauty. There is something in the mindset of a martial artist that is unique to that culture. The same would hold true for the Liberace example. Some people have a music bug.. or a power lust.. or there will always be women who want a man in uniform.

Part of the attraction is not just the look; but what the look allows us to presume about the person. There comes a point in maturity where we learn to be less presumptuous and our worlds are opened to other types of beauty; but I don't think that the ideal image really goes away. We tend to be attracted to the package deal, whether it be the true person or not.

I agree with all you say, but the thread was pretty much just asking about "build"

One of the things my wife finds attractive in me is my level of confidence. I am not arrogant, but admit to having a bit of "swagger" and that comes from the martial arts-as does the not being arrogant as it teaches humility and respect as much as it does physical skill.

Thank you. I oughta smile in my pix. I always look like Buster Keaton.

I do have a preference for larger men, stocky naturally muscular lumberjack type dudes are seriously appealing to me. I won't say no to a bodybuilder but I prefer a man who just has bulk from genetics instead of obsessive weightlifting.

That being said, my husband is a slender model-type guy and is a stone cold fox that looks good in ANYTHING the lucky fucker.

Haha. What about guys who use too much hair product and moisturize too much. :)

I think I'd have to take that on a case-by-case basis... I'm not good with super high-maintenance hair, but my husband has a modern pompadour that looks great but doesn't actually take him a lot of time to do. And moisturization? I think I need to consider that one. :)
