Sgt. Peppers....?
that's the one. don't feel bad, I'm not a huge beatles fan either. I like some of their songs, but I'm not of a mind that every time they farted they created a genius piece of music, like some beatle maniacs seem to believe. their main importance to me is that they were (I'm guessing) a big influence on one of my favorite bands, dada..... I usually describe them as the beatles with jimi hendrix on guitar. they have some beautiful ballads but they can rock it, too and just about every song features some great harmonies.

sorry, got sidetracked.... but I think anyone that loves really good power-poppish (but a little heavier IMO) tunes should check out a little band called dada.

here's another one:
MTV refused to play their first single because of the album cover art. The art was changed. MTV played the song once at 2am. 24 hours later, it was their number one requested song. One year later, the band owned the biggest selling debut album ever.

name the band and the album.

I sort of know

Guns & Roses, the album cover was a cross, with faces on the points of the cross ? and I have the answer upstairs in a book (the encyclopeadie of Heavy Metal-a must read for all thrashers) but that would not be playing the
game the right way !
...back at ya
Robert Plant & John Bonham came from what band to New Yardbirds/Led Zeplin
P.S. love the thread, just found it, forgive me if question has been asked before

so we have the artist and a description of the cover.... all we need is the album's title.

welcome to the thread, MB, and thanks for posting a question. as for the answer..... I dunno. it's one of those little bits of info that I'm sure I've read at some point, but I can't seem to retrieve it from my memory banks. :(

eric clapton played lead on "while my guitar..."

slash was lead for g'n'r

for some reason the name steve jones comes to mind for the sex pistols, so I'll guess him....

i thought these were obvious...

i didn't respond because i assumed everyone knew these...

beatles lead guitar.....George Harrison

Guns.....Slash

I thibk it was something political or contraversial, not a cuss word. or he called someone 'stupid' or something, I remember the show and can't remember the word.
