NaNoWriMo 2005 - Join, write, be a novelist!

Thanks to Colly, I have a title for mine. :nana:

Massau'u's Promise

I was going to title mine Diary of a Call Girl, but I'm wondering if Confessions of a Call Girl might not be a better fit.

Mine's called 'Young Love' and starts off with possibly the most depressing scene imaginable.

I had an epiphany of how to end it the other day. I now have hte plot pretty much worked out in my head.

Crim: No offense, but 'Confessions of a Call Girl' sounds a litttle bit Red Shoe Diaries cliche.

Mine is called, "Dreaming Water." I think.

Plot synopsis:

When DNA collapses in those of European descent, their only hope lies within the reservation lands held by the Native Americans. Daya Two Eagles, and her fellow tribal delegates, face the choice between helping their fellow humans, or letting them die. Their battles will be fought on two fronts: the age-old physical struggle between Indians and Whites, and the stuggle within themselves to do the right thing, and see the prophecy fulfilled.

Yeesh, that sounds very in-depth and political. Suppose I should've expected very little else.

Mine is the story of three people and their loves. Faith is lost, tumbled upside down by her love that is no longer returned. Alone, depressed and hurt, she struggles to survive the aftermath of her love. Daniel is in love for the very first time. He's learning how to cope with the dangerous world of an adult relationship and actually look to the future for the first time. Michelle really, really wants to be in love. He's sweet and he loves her so much. Maybe she should just pretend for the moment; after all, doesn't it take time to fall in love?

Either aliens are taking over the world (again) or gunfighters in the Old West (or something like it) are trying to save it or well... everyone's dieing.

*shrug*

I really need better focus.

No offense taken. It is going to be pretty much totally smut, so it sounding like Red Shoe Diaries isn't all that bad, lol.

Smut is good, but IMHO I think you can do better for a title.

The omens are good.

I have written nearly 17,000 words for the Halloween contest.

If I can keep that rate up I could manage NaNoWriMo.

Og the prolific.

Og, oh wise and venerable one, if you'd like to bottle and sell some of whatever it is that keeps you going...

;)

p.s. Let's face it, I'm just lazy...

No title for mine as yet, but i got my title late on in the proceedings last year too.

Mines erotica, a woman sets out to seduce a famous hunky male star via her knowledge of all things computers. But once the chase is over, she comes to realise he ain't all that after all.....

and thats where the real story will begin.

Really it's romance with lots of sex thrown in. the inspiration came in a flash of light and I will be leaning on my hubby heavily for all his pooter knowledge. It's going to be fun i know, and I need to work on more details at some point, it's a bit bitty in my mind right now.

I don't think it's so much a political story, as it is a human one.

Which sounds less corny?

Dragon Race
The Game of the Dragon

How about "The Race of the Dragons"?

Not that I should be making suggestions without knowing the ideas behind it...

It's a fantasy story. In this world I made up, people tame and train dragons and race them once a year in a royal dragon race. Taming and training dragons require strong magic, and only the richest families can afford to hire proffessional dragon trainers.
The main characters of the story are two underdogs, two young, unskilled magicians, who have no money and have to do things the hard way - by catching a wild dragon and taming it.

Sounds interesting. Is it more... I dunno, comedy related, or more drama? Or some other category?
