More recently, she was a research assistant to the late (and great) Christopher Reeves in the tv series Smallville, both of whom were Krypton specialists.

We don't all know each other.

And As original as anyone normally rememberes. I liked George reeves too, but Christopher, in color did the first SUPERMAN MOVIE, as far as I'm concerened.

There's a curse surrounding the Suerpman Live action tv and movies. Check it out, all the main actors have had some odd misfortune.

I went to see that in the theater by myself because none of my friends were interested. Silly friends.
I saw a preview for it this morning so I had Superfreak stuck in my head all day at work.

Funniest thing EVER. Olive is my hero!

Maybe everyone is all nerded out? :p

I've been drunk or tipsy half the day and drinking the rest. It's the end of exams and I have a bunch of people wanting to come hang out or drink. No time for anything else, and real ability to do much else.

Sorry people.

You naughty drinking man!

Just out of curiosity, does Vessira mean something because I keep looking at it and thinking Vicera..taking into account I am pronouncing it that way in my head.

Always an interesting thing to see what inspired peoples handles here.

Vess - eera is how I say it. Doesn't mean a thing. I made it up and use it for one of my game characters.

That is a much prettier way to pronounce it. And a cool character name too.

I think others should chime in about their names and why they chose them.

Ummm.

Ok chronicle has a number of words. But it's effective meaning is master of nothing. It sort of means jack of all trades or skilled in many things.

As well as the normal meaning of taking record.

tenko has a lot of meanings but it's half mystical and very immature geekish. A tenko is a nine tailed kitsune. A fox spirit, which among a number of other things I feel akin to in a number of ways. I took Tenko because of arrogance and have kept the name for years and years and years. Chronicle being the name and Tenko being a title.

Not really that special save that it's my name. I picked it and have not changed it since. And Immature in meaning or no, I like it.

Actually that's pretty thoughtful planing on your part. Cool!

Well, my name, TexGuy84, is... welll... I'd love to give you some deep meaningful answer, but it's just not coming :D

So, have been doing some research on digital cameras, and I think that instead of getting the Canon EOS 20D, which i have some lenses that it will work with, I am going to instead go for the Pentax K10D. My 75-300 USM zoom lens won't work with it, but I can get a Pentax or Tamron 75-300 zoom lens for about $130-150, which will still make the total package cost less than the 20D body alone. The Pentax camera also has some neat features that the 20D lacks, like a self-cleaning digital sensor and anti-shake image stabilization built into the camera body instead of the lens. :nana:

I have locked them up in order to drain thier powers.

When the process is complete I will infuse myself with concentrated nerd to become EVIL SPINS!

*Bursts into the room*

FREEDOM!

Evil Spins captured me some days ago, but now I have escaped!
With zany antics! And wookies!

Of course, I got out after draining all the other nerd's powers.
Seemed like a good plan he had running.
Anyway, I'll catch you all later.

I'm off to FLA for the holiday, to visit my family.
For me, chewing glass would be more fun.

Anyway, see you all on the ground!

Ahahahah. Evil Spins? What will he do, scold us when we forget to wear our pocket protecters?

There will be lots of wrath involved, but beyond that I can't tell ya

You were never captured. What do I need with a cleric's powers? Useless they are!

Don't get too burned down there in all that Flordia sun. Have a safe trip and see if you can't enjoy yourself :)

Lil: to answer your question about names will show my complete and utter lack of imagination. Microbiology is the shorthand version of my major (molecular and cellular biology)... 311 was my dorm room number my freshman year of college.

I used to have a yahoo id of Coyoteugly311 but that got stolen so I started using this one and just kept it for everything.

*hangs head in shame.. i'm so boring*

What size is the sensor on that one?

The main thing I like about the Canon digital SLRs is that they have a full frame sensor. Does the Pentax as well?

Well, amongst the Canon DSLRs, only the 1D and 5D series have full-frame sensors. The 20D and 30D and the Rebels, closer to my budget (though, at present, still horrifically over it) have smaller sensors, with a 1.6x multiplier, IIRC.

The K10D is a 10MP camera, with built-in anti-shake and a self-cleaning sensor, and a weather-sealed body. And it's $200 cheaper than the EOS 20D, which means I can afford to pick up a descent 75-300 lens to make up for the fact that the one I have for my rebel won't work with the K10D.
