New Adventure, New Thread (M)

Interesting and well-meeting art installations often come to where I work. The newest one is a 'ship of tolerance' meant to showcase the artwork of young children from around the world and how as different as we are we all crave the same things and we should all tolerate one another.

I watched as the Carpenters constructed this interesting fact simile of a boat and thought how fantastic it was to see something akin to ship building happening on the waterfront again.

It is a lovely sentiment and a worthwhile ideal. But I've seen the lake when harsh storms have whipped it into a frenzy of relentless waves and damaging winds and I have seen people angry and hungry and vicious for no reason.

I would never set sail in such a vessel
It's interesting how those things are put together!
I had the brakes changed on my bicycle and for 2 months I have been dealing with squeal every time I try to stop. Alsot every stoplight, at every stop sign, every quick stop to avoid collision with a distracted pedestrian or thoughtless motorist it was the squeal of my brakes like a off-tune horn section blaring out. After countless fruitless visits to the local bike shop (a new set of pads to replace the 3 weeks old ones, draining the brake fluid) I took matters into my own hands, bought a new set of brake pads and put them on myself.

Now when I stop all there is a silence.
all is quiet now? :)
This just seems like a decent photo and figured that I would share.

Love the resolution!!

That is quite an exquisite photo and an amazing display of ropework!

Wish that I were fortunate to have such a beautiful palette for my skills. Mostly it gets put to use at work.

I would happily accept volunteers....
😈

I still need to change out the rear pads, the horn section is tuning up again (but when they play at the back of the bus it is easier to take).

Thank you for the compliment; I am learning that editing is just an an important part of a photo as composition.

Penumbra

I had little interest in getting out of bed today, but there were chores and work responsibilities to perform, so despite my fatigue I did what I had to do.

The torrential rains that have loomed in the forecast throughout the week amounted to nearly nothing when they reached the city, no doubt calmed by the lake.

So instead of harsh, fierce storms we have endured wave after wave of cold drizzle, spitting rain that makes people hurry a bit more to their destination and leaves a person more wet than they realized.

I am home once again, glad to lay in bed, close mine eyes, and block out the world, if only for a little while.

Yeah, that’s it...your core... I like your core 😜

I will be sure to pass your regards on to my physical therapist!

First time I went it was for my legs and issues with my back.

Then it was my shoulder injury and rebuilding my upper body strength.

Know I am doing all in my power to focus on the middle.
😉

Honestly I was not paying attention either. 😉

I have a horrible memory, which has deteriorated even more with age. That is why I always write things down.
It was the second thing to go.

I like the notion that I can be a distraction for such a lovely lady

😈

The difference a day makes

Autumn's arrival was warm, bright, and dry.

A beautiful, resplendent way for a new season to start.

Home for a rest

Tonight is one of the last nights that I will spend in a lush, friendly, historic, and evocative land that I thought I might never see again.

In the past few days, I have seen a tropical storm lash the coast, sampled Irish Whiskey made in a barn, listened to the songs of my youth performed by natives of this land, and been brought to tears by the austerity and beauty of life by the sea.

Not to mention tipping back a few pints and sharing some laughs.

I drank with a newlywed and danced to a gig, and swam in the North Atlantic Ocean from the opposite side.

I have been on a wondrous journey that at times I wish could continue until the day that I die.

It is beautiful there! I've been to those cliffs before. It's been years since I was there but I remember it like it was yesterday.

This is truly a beautiful place. I could have knelt there watching the waves roll in, or the fresh water dance in the wind while listening to the soothing, thunderous crash of the surf for hours.

Glad that I could stir some pleasant memories for you!

Great job on that table. You work very well with your hands. Bravo!

A great comedian (and Canadian) once said "If the women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy."

So I so my best to be good with my hands. 😈

I enjoy woodworking, or really any kind of craft with my hands so much.
Thank you!

Next you’re going to be telling us all how you’re a man, but you can change. If you have to. You guess.

What a lovely surprise to see you again and find you in my thread!

I would not go so far as to brag (or reveal the secrets of a particular marsupial based fraternal order) but I would admonish all who read these words to
"Keep your stick on the ice"

Thank you sweet sexy girl!

I ways enjoy putting a smile on your face with my photos.
=)

Home now from a long day of travel.

Tomorrow I need to groom some of my unruly fur, but it can wait until I get some sleep in my own bed.

Just don't take off too much!

That's fine, you didn't take off too much, thank you!

Very glad that you approve!

I do not know if I could handle having a completely bare chest.

It would make drying off quicker, but I would feel like a high schooler again (I certainly do not want that!)
