New Adventure, New Thread (M)

The hex was partially broken for the weekend. Such a wonderful change to be outside without extra layers, to feel warm sunlight on my skin.

Good for you, maybe we'll be next for the broken hex! :)

Blue Skies and warm air after another rainy day.

It may seem frivolous to constantly report on the weather, but it plays a major role in whether I work and how I work.

For now, despite a wet forecast, I will savor a clear slice of fluffy cloud strewn firmament.

I saw a similar view today, it was really nice to see, as is this one!

Pansies

Nearly two months ago, I rode over a steel plate in the street in the rain.

Since then there has not been a day without soreness or pain, and I am not sure when I will have one.

The physical therapist said that I could start working out again, and five and eight pound dumbbells are about all my shoulder can handle.

So now as the spring weather is finally bringing green leaves and colorful blooms, I feel like a pansy myself.

I hope your pain ends soon, on the plus side, you're still gorgeous!!

Thank you so much sweet friend!

I seem to be rather lucky that even when I am weak I still look fit.
I am hoping that I can carry a backpack without issues again soon.

Thank you so much for commenting.

Glad to know that you enjoy my rambling thoughts and so-so photography!

Will be trying to share a little more regularly soon

I get the news I need from the weather report

The past few days we have bee blessed with warm soft winds and bright sunshine. So nice to be home before the sunset and feel the warmth of it's Ray's on my face and body.

A chill north wind is coming though. Like all things, it is best to enjoy it while I can.

I am so sorry for the pain you've been experiencing. But you look amazing. 😍 I hope you can find comfort for the pain soon. 💋

These are great and highlight that fur! Thank you!

Adversity through Atrophy

I want to thank all of you very gracious ladies for encouraging me.

I seem to have gotten lucky in the genetic lottery and can look fit even if I really am not.

Today was an excellent example of that when I agreed to help an old boss help get his boat ready for the season.

Holding a sander above my head very quickly reminded me how weak my shoulders are after my injury.

But it felt good to help get a classic yacht back in the water.

Great picture, love your eyes!

Waiting for the sun

Finally had the right conditions to honor a recent request.

I hope that the sun and warm air stick around for a few days.

Follow up

Today was my final orthopedic follow up appointment with a very tall, very WASPish man who looked me over to assess my recovery and then certify his opinion with his boss, a very short but fierce Asian woman.

They agreed that I am weak, but that I can once again become strong.

They said that my injury was severe, but with time it will heal.

(That bump will be there unless I can get big enough muscles to hide it)

Now all I need is time.

Well there's some good news, right? I hope you have a smooth ride in healing!

That is the hope.

Every week at physical therapy, the staff find some new exercise to torment my shoulders and make me feel weak.

But with time, I have regained strength and mobility.

I need to exercise patience and discipline.

Proper tool, proper job

Our first big weekend is coming up.

So is the lake level.
On a daily basis I raise fenders to protect our boats.

Today, I raised our heavy foam fenders with a new employee, and in my haste, grabbed too small a rope and an already damages metal snap. The weight of the fender was too much as the snap broke, whapping me in the forehead and her just above her eye, creating a small bead of blood on her blonde eyebrow I'm lucky she was such a good sport.

Now I keep scratching a spot on my forehead and reminding myself to take me time and use the right tools for the job
