Apologies if these have been asked a lot already, I tried searching and couldn't find answers!

1. What exactly is the Hot tag? Like, how does it happen?
2. What is the little page icon next to the comment icon? (Screenshot below)
When I tap the comment icon it takes me to comments, but nothing happens when I tap the page icon.

Thank you!

Edit: the story in question :)

Hot tags happen when or if you have at least ten votes with a mean of 4.5 or higher.
The page icon is the number of reading lists your story has been added to. On a regular computer you can hover over them* with mouse, holding down on them might bring up the dialog if you're on a mobile device.

*By which I mean, the hover feature tells you what each icon is, but you can't access a list of all the lists you're on, sadly.

Oh cool! I didn't know about reading lists!

Congratulations on getting your first story published. To get more eyes on it, consider putting a link to it in your forum signature, as well as a link to your public profile with all your stories.

The article provided by @THBGato above should have tips how to obtain the latter (make sure it’s not a link to your control panel, as that’s the common mistake).

I think I did it! Test comment...

Hmm, I edited my signature and show signatures is checked in my preferences, but I don't see mine or anyone else's. Does it take a while for that change to go into effect?

Never apologise for asking something you don't know. After all, how else are you going to find the answer? And how do you suppose everyone else did? None of us were born with a comprehensive set of Literotica instructions imprinted in our brain, just waiting for us to turn 18.

Anyway, welcome to Lit and to the Authors Hangout. Most of us are friendly, and some of us are helpful. All of us think we're funny. Some of us are multiple different people, and sometimes different people are the same. If you think that's confusing, just think of it as good practice for keeping track of your story's characters.

And some of us are archaeopteryxes.

Welcome to Lit and AH, @peregrinecat! Glad you were able to get your questions answered.

Appreciate it! I just know it can be frustrating to have newbies asking questions that have been asked and answered to dozens of other newbies before them ;)
You're just lucky you asked at the time of day when the forum is dominated by the cheerful, friendly, welcoming folks, as opposed to the when it's primarily grumpy, frustrated, burned out people looking for an easy outlet for their aggression*.

Anyway, welcome!

*note, these two groups may, in fact, comprise the same human complement, with the operative difference being the quantity of coffee present.
