It might be that when he was looking at GLBT boards he was seeing a lot of bisexual women and not many men (at least that would admit it). I know it seems to me when I'm in chat rooms that many of the women identify as being bi. But when a guy says he's bi, he's immediately labeled a fag that occasionally likes a woman.

I actually brought up lesbian vs gay man at work the other day because I work with a lot of close minded people. We have three employees who are lesbians and I've kept the fact that I'm bi secret. One night joking around someone said they were going to fire me for being gay. It was a joke made in good fun but turned serious quick when I said back I could sue the shit out of the company if that actually happened.
