Good morning to everyone! :)

It's always an excellent morning the day after your Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots beat the snot out of another team. :D

Now if only it weren't 90+ degrees today..

Anyhow, happy Tuesday everybody. Only one more day till it's Prince Spaghetti Day.

Good morning gang!!

Yeah......the Pats beat the crap out of the Steelers!!! Read
all about it in the paper this morning :D

Prince Spaghetti Day is Wednesday.......are you planning
to make spaghetti for tomorrow night at dinner? ;)

one day away

Fellow New Englanders,

One day away until 9/11......one year later.

The world has changed forever because of it.

I know we are a fun-loving thread, but at some point
today and tomorrow please post your thoughts on
9/11 and how it has changed you, etc.

I know for myself, I've become more open, and one
thing that I've done this year was meet new people,
namely from Lit (both CT, MA, & NYC)............I'm not
going to wait around to meet new people.......I got out
there and met them......and those whom I've met have
been really great.........

Funny........this year alone I've been into NYC 5 times!
In the past 4 years, I've been to NYC less than that. Funny
what a year does to you.

Please..........do what you feel tomorrow.....wear red/white/blue,
say a prayer or thought, attend a public memorial if you can,
fly Old Glory from your home or apt, be with family and/or
friends (if you can't, give 'em a call!), whatever you feel right
doing........there will be a lot of people tomorrow who will be
sad.......

United we stand...........together :heart: :rose: :heart:

here is what I posted late last nite on the NY Vincinty Thread

Remembering 9/11........one year later.........

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I remember getting ready to go to the gym when the
first plane crashed into one of the Towers......I remember
at the gym when both Towers collapsed and we were all
watching it on the tv while on the Elliptical trainer, and I
recall letting out this big scream..........I remember racing
home right after and crying......only to have to go to
work for the 3-9pm shift at my job, and to find that CNN
was turned on......
As soon as I got home after the gym I frantically called
some friends who I know that work and/or live in the city
and was unable to get thru on the phones.........but
sent emails .......luckily those friends did not work in
the WTC.....but they were okay.........
Such a beautiful blue sunny day that Tuesday last year
turned into smoky tears.........I remember getting home
from work later that night and I cried.......and called up
friends....and cried some more......
That Friday 9/14 I recall was the "day of rememberance".....
it was a cloudy, rainy day......I remember saying that
"the world was crying".........(fuck, my eyes are welling
up already!) ..........I cried when watching the service
being broadcast from Washington DC........
I remember as a child, whenever me and the family
would drive to JFK to leave for a trip, my mom would
point out the skyline......I will never, ever forget that.
And when walking thru downtown to catch the Staten
Island ferry when I was in college.....passing the area
where the Towers are..........a sight to behold.
I saw Ground Zero for the first time, on my 28th birthday
back in May. I was with a good friend of mine, and one
of the things I wanted to do was to get down to Ground
Zero. It was weird, scary, and very very sad all at the
same time. Seeing the different pictures and memorials
up was real sad and I started crying on the sidewalk. I
could not believe that "there's no more" "I can't believe
they aren't there".......(I'm babbling please forgive me)....
However, I am glad that I got to Ground Zero when I
did......and I know a lot of people, including some good
friends of mine, will not go down there, either too many
memories or too upsetting, and that is understandable.
Last week here in CT, there was a state memorial set
up in honor of CT residents who died in the tragedy,
and the memorial is at Sherwood Island State Park in
Westport........
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On a lighter note, I want to take the time to say thank you
to all of you.........for being good friends........for being
there.........

United we stand.......together.......:heart: :rose: :heart:

Indeed. We could be in the middle of a hurricane, and it would still be a great day because of the fact that we beat Pittsburgh (again).:D

You and me both!! Mondays...blecha. :)

Morning all. Time to ease ourselves into the new work week. And what better way than a visit to Lit. :D Hopefully you all have indoor jobs with AC. It's gonna be a doozy out there.

I've decided I need a friend with benefits in my life at this time. Any suggestions? :kiss:

Define benefits.;)

Do you *really* need that defined? :cool:

And yes, it was a very sweet way to start off the football season. Although to be honest, the best Patriots QB the first quarter was Kordell Stewart. :)

*sigh* Still another while to go before I can leave work. Maybe I can sneak on here the whole time if I'm lucky.

It was a great first half. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the second half because it was so late. That's the one drawback to Monday night football. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it.

By the way, I won't tell your boss you're on lit.;)

Good evening, New Englandddd......

Hi to TigerJen, Sueann, Ridemcowgirl, and Pseudo.

Wow, it was a bit humid today. I am one happy camper that I left my A/C on low today. It is absolutely perfect in the house :D

Congradulations Sueann and Pseudo on the Patriots defeating the Steelers. But Sueann the Patriots are going to feel like they ran head on into a hurricane when the face the Giants ;)

GO GIANTS............:D :D :D

Hey Ridemcowgirl. What type of car did you have at the car show?

Well, gang catcha later....................;)

Say it ain't so!

Jaded, honey, how could you not be a Patriots fan?:(

I don't think I could totally give myself to someone who wasn't. I'll miss the anaconda.

Sueann, Sueann, Sueann..........

Baby, I am an ex N.Y. there are only two teams the Yankees and the Giants. I have been true to my teams ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper.

That BIG BLUE WRECKING MACINE just runs through my blood.............:D :D :D

When my team has a bad year I'm still there year after year!

Jaded1, CT:devil:

I just went to the Patriot's website, and found out that the tickets are sold out.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I was really hoping to see a game this year, even if I had to sit in zero-degree weather with my ass frozen to the seat. Bummer!

So I sit here, watching a repeat of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, waiting for someone to play with...:D

Well, dedication is an admirable quality, so I guess I can't hold it against you. But I'll have fun trying to change your mind!:D

Patriots vs. Giants

I just checked the schedule, and we aren't playing the giants in the regular season. Too bad, we could have had a football party.

I coulda told you that. :) I had 3 browsers and my phone going all at one time when the last tix went on sale and I couldn't find any game with 2 seats together, and I wasn't gonna go alone. But I do have a contact at work who has a son that has season tickets. Sometimes he doesn't want to go and he gives them to her to "get rid of". I got 3 games from her last year at face value. If I get lucky again this year, I'll try to remember ya when I look for someone to go with. :)

And what kinda games did you want to play?? :devil:

I will make you the sole beneficiary in my will. I may not have much to leave behind, but it's the thought that counts!:)
