Small world

AB, where were you stationed as a crew chief?

I was a UH-60 pilot (CW2) in the Army ... mostly in Germany but then came back to the 'States before I got out. In Germany I was in Hanau (near Frankfurt) and spent some time in Somalia, Turkey/Iraq, and Macedonia.

Maybe we knew some of the same people.

There is a picture of me on my picture thread, or you can check out my web site (probably the best idea).

tell me.. just what are you doing in that AV?

Isn't it obvious? Or maybe you have to use your imagination?

well.. you are either taking a leak, j/o, or fingering you butt.. its not clear from the photo

AB, I was in Hanau (Fliegerhorst Army Airfield) from May 91 to April 94. But like I said, I was deployed a few times. They always managed to have us leave on the Holidays and come back the day after my birthday. Fucking Army.

"Join the Army. Earn your pay.
ETS and FTA."

I always snicker when I hear that. But I really did enjoy most of my time in. It's like every duty station: The worst place you've ever been while you're there. The best place you ever were after you leave.

Ekserb isn't that the truth.

Jess, you should stop by the China Pearl Inn...OOC sometime.

Well, you'll have to look closer, dear. You won't see my knuckles under there (although I'm sure there is a pic or two like that on my thread) and I'm too close to the wall for a toilet.

What was the third option again?

maybe you are in a position for a spanking.. those are some very cute bunns

I have to say, though, AB, you should take down those jump wings. You were a REMF just like me.:D

Jess, you are being naughty again.;)

Now go to my room and take off all your clothes. I going to give you 50 lashes with a wet tongue:D

A spanking? A spanking! When and where?

Those are my pride and joy Ekserb. I am a second generation paratrooper. The ones I wore on my uniform were my father's and they really are silver wings. I know I'm a REMF, but like a ranger once told me, at least I had a purpose in life.:D

What happened? Where you too smart to be an 11B?

That is what the Army decided after I failed out of Language school for Russian. Everyone else got orders to be 11C's.

AB.. a lot of history there..

Yes there is Jess. I have met men from both of those divisions who jumped on June 6th 1944 into Normandy. Those are the ones who set the example for me. Those are the ones I consider to be heroes.

that was the first action of the 82nd wasnt it?... and didnt a lot of the jumps occur on the 5th, before midnight?.. esp the pathfinders and a lot of the 101, a lot of the 82nd came in in gliders didnt they?

You got lucky.

My brother decided after seeing how I faired in Basic Training that he wanted to one-up me by going all out ... he signed for Airborne Infantry. Ended up stationed in Hawaii (don't roll your eyes, he hated it .. they all do) and injured his knee during RIP. He got to do all the cool Army stuff while his older brother merely got to fly around with artillery slung under the helicopter in heavy fog, pulling so many G's I was in the H's, my co-pilot screaming like a woman (that's ok, she was a woman). Did I mention I was also inverted? <Makes the universally recognized sign for an inverted aircraft>

inverting a helicopter sounds like a physical impossiblity... or at least impossible to walk away from.. but what do I know.. :)

Yes for all of it, except that the first action for the 82nd was during the First World War. A very famous member of the 82nd Division from that war was Sgt. York. During the Second World War I think the 82nd saw action in both North Africa and in Sicily before they jumped in Normandy.
