inverting a helicopter sounds like a physical impossiblity... or at least impossible to walk away from.. but what do I know.. :)

No Jess it is not impossible, but the Army doesn't like it when pilots do those kinds of maneuvers. LOL.

Actually, it used to be, but modern helicopters are very agile. They can't maintain inverted flight (especially with a slingload) but loops and rolls are no problem, albeit very unauthorized.

The British have a helicopter called a Lynx that can actually do a backflip in a high hover. The most amazing fucking thing you'll ever see.

Well, it might not be the most amazing thing you'll ever see, but I thought it was pretty cool.

That Lynx still can't outpower a Blackhawk, though. Heheeee!

AB.. oh ok.. i guess they were not an airborne division in wwi hu?

No they weren't, they became an airborne division in WWII. They were the first division to be up of soldiers from all over the country though, hence the AA on the patch stands for All-American.

the most amazing thing i have ever watched was... oh.. no I cant say that here

This won't make sense to many of you, but I think it's cool:

Sikorsky Helicopters has a training video they show to student pilots at Ft Rucker, AL and in it they demostrate the power and agility of a few different types of helicopter.

The compare and dogfight with two different models to show the strengths and weaknesses, and the final show is a Blackhawk versus a militarized version of the S-76. The S-76 could probably win a straight-line race, but when the S-76 tried to get inside the Blackhawk with a climbing turn, the Blackhawk simply came to a stop and followed the smaller helicopter in a climbing hover with his guns always pointing at the target.

Sorry to get so technical in this forum. I love this kind of thing....

yes.. the All-americans... all over america as well as touching on the eliet nature of the unit
