New Maryland Thread

Yes, Boston drivers are the best in the world. <snicker>

The Snow

I am a long time 4x4'er, Moved here in late 90's. I'm not the kind of person who enjoys slowing down and or having to stop when an accident takes place, matter of fact It makes my day off all day. (people getting hurt or killed on the road pisses me off as a matter of fact)

But I must admit that it is tiring to see all the SUV's and especially the Hummers!!, stuck in the snow, over guard rails etc;.

I always ask myself the retorical question 'Why do these people spend 40,50 60/70 Thousand dollars and care so little about their own safety never mind the other drivers on the road' when all they need to spend is a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars and learn how to drive these bank accounts that gain no interest.

If not for themselves, then for the others who drive along side of them. (Especially the Women and Children)

End of my soap box too

snow!

I LOVE SNOW!!! Being from Ohio we had it ALL the time. I literally rolled in it the other night. People in Maryland do not know how to drive in it. Jeesh people!

I agree with you shyandsecret, I love the snow too. I grew up in New England. I just wish people would learn how to drive in it down here.

We can't even drive in the snow when it's not even sticking to the ground....like today!

Sometimes I think that the snow is a good excuse for bad drivers to drive even worse.

I agree. Damn excuses!! Snow is awesome. Let's go sledding. Ohio had 8 inches the other night....I am ready to go back home

The thing about the DC area is that the federal government brings people in from all over the country. The first snow of the winter, especially after an election year, is the first snow some of these people have seen. Some of them drive 5 mph when there's a light dusting; some of them drive 80 mph when the roads are completely glazed with ice. :)

After a couple snows, the clever ones have figured it out, and the not-so-clever ones have died, I guess ... lol

The DC area is notorious for bad drivers, snow or no snow. I always wonder why people have to slow down to look at a fender bender or why people cannot learn how to accelerate to merge rather than waiting for it to be clear 2 miles in each direction before merging. The driving test needs to be much harder than what it is today. Hopefully the rain today will clear by tomorrow morning or my commute will become a multi-hour event. Ok, I am done bitching. Lets talk about sex instead or at least who is getting any.

It looks like it is going to be nice today and I bet that will cause a few accidents today.

I sure hope that the global warming isn't warming your ass. It sounds painful.
But, hey, to each their own.
