I don't know if the audience has gotten larger over time, or how long you have been here when you post the story matters, but if I look at the numbers of my older taboo stories, their numbers are nowhere near the ones I've put out the last four or five years.

Or maybe those stories were awful and I've gotten better...there's always that.

The series overall - 5 stories - is at 6800 votes from a smidge under 500k views.

I wrote the first story specifically to tap into the I/T readership, but even so, I'm still astonished by the numbers.

Being the woman is older, I wonder if you would have had bigger response in mature?

Probably, but it was important to me that it go in FT, and if you read it, you'll understand why.
It's a very personal story and I was never looking for ratings with this one. I just wanted to tell it. Needed to. I came very close to not turning on the rating function.

That's a very different story and in that sense, you're right because you're not going for numbers or viewers. Hope writing it made you feel better.

I was just checking on an old story because a character from it appears in a new story that just went up this morning. The story has the same number of Faves as Comments, which seems... unusual. Anybody else think so, or am I just smoking dope?

I made a special effort with the language in the non-erotic parts of that story, for character reasons. It definitely struck a chord.

My first story, published in 2022, in Essays, has suddenly been found again. The LW trolls found it early and 1 bombed it. So as of right now, it is at 3.22 with 244 votes. the score has been very incrementally rising over this time, but in the last two weeks, I have had five more save it as a favorite (my favorite metric).

However, even if I assume that those who saved it as a favorite also gave it a 5, with that number of prior votes, it did not move the needle much, and how much is not figurable.
