New Milestones Thread

I just passed 60K words written total. That is spread across 9 stories of which 7 are complete and published or soon to be published. I am pretty happy with that word and story when I have been writing less than a year and after several months hiatus.

I've never thought checking total words written and published. It'd be a choir to figure that out. With individual story here, ranging from 750 words to 30,000 plus. Then there is all the blogs I've written, my own, other peoples, podcast cast scripts, ghost writing for other people, and stories I published on other platforms that don't appear here.

I never tried to do a total, but at one point I counted that I have 5 e-books that break 100k each and lost count of how many that are over 50k each. People can say whatever they want about my writing, but people who buy my books are getting a lot of bang for the buck.

ETA, I remember my Broken series-siblings with benefits here, but there's more content in the for-sale series-is 962k between the 8 books.

I have 208 more books.

A quick count tells me I have 220k words published here on Lit. That's probably half what I have in my Drafts folder. :(

Every time I look at what is named "fragments" which contains scenes I cut out of stories, scenes that are just scenes that maybe I find a home for, snippets of conversations, etc...I think of the character from the Ally McBeal show. The guy they called the "Biscuit" there was a scene where he looks into a toilet, sighs and says "Remnants" and that's what I always think of with those random bits.

My story Late Night on the Loveseat with Mom, published on May 10, 2017, just eclipsed 2 million views today. That puts it at number 151 on the all-time most-viewed Literotica story list. Since December 2016, I've published 62 stories, and that single story accounts for about 17% of all the views all my stories have received.

According to my editors record reports, I he has edited at least five million words of mine. I'm not sure how he tracks it and what's mean by at least.

The luxury of still being a very new writer makes it easy to count the stories and lenght for each. I have a spreadsheet which has the word count and other metrics of every story and series I have done and am currently working on.

It has been interesting to see as my confidemce has grown that the length of each atorynhasngrown too. My first wasnjustnover 6K words and that seemed like a lot at the time. I was4 curious if anyone would bother to read that much. My newest in just under 10K since I am comfortable that I have built a small following that does enjoy what I write and is willing to invest the time to read what I throw together.

Not really a milestone, I suppose, because I don't know when it happened. But I just found out today that I have a poem in the all time top ten.
I read that poem a while back—it’s beautifully sad. I think I may have left a comment saying something to that effect. Congrats on its success.

Not sure if it's a "Milestone", but I'm going to count it as one.

Today, I received my first rejection from a traditional publisher. Not my first rejection because everything else has been accepted, but the first because it's the first time I've sent anything to a publisher.

I know every author will experience rejection, and I understand why this story was rejected. But still, it stings a little bit!

On the bright side that means I can let my historical romance stew for a bit, and focus on writing pure smut instead. 🔥

Trad pub is brutal. Good luck and I think it's awesome that you're querying agents/publishers!
