Still no comments on my new submission, Lickety Split. I had hoped it would tickle someone's fancy! It is an erotic, romantic missive to my sweetie.

There are twenty-one new poems this Tuesday, April 26th. Here are a few that took my fancy.

Kaishaku’s - kaishasku-nin - haiku-like verses make a beautiful whole.

SZonder Man leaves his mark in Presence of Humankind – an immense subject whittled into a neat, expressive poem.

Angeline – gives us a breath of fresh air with The End of Rain……evocative as always.

Mcjessica - two poems from a new arrival Here I Am and Found. I liked them both but found the odd indentation and lack of capitals a distraction.

msboy8 – has that out-of-control feeling with Running Down The Highway a good spatial.

Tungtied is plagued by a stalker in Haunted and mourns the loss of love in Fool’s wager

bogusbrig gave us four today Art is Coup De Grace, Smoking and The Punch All well worth reading.

Remec offers – Street Music a bouncy, hip-hop poem that carries the reader along with it and Wintry night at work closing time.

And it's closing time for me too. I'm sure there are poems I've neglected or that you feel I should have mentioned. Bear with this neophyte, please and say your piece.

wow, you all have kept me busy this morning....I count 29 new poems for review today. no rest for the wicked I suppose

to start things off I give you words
by lindiana
a unique perspective indeed...we have become a visual society and this is an artful way to show your angst.

oh sweet sweet Tristesse
you had some wonderful sexy poems this morning...
Wet dream

these lines got me in particular:

"a guide to the map of your body
with short-cuts to pleasure."

also, don't miss out on Jungle Lovers

next on the list is one from chezcubby1 cookie crazy you brought a smile to my lips this morning...I have a craving now for...cookies? :D

now here is someone that has a busy little bee posting away with all sorts of poems today....SnapTamedME
you had a couple that caught my eye. I must say I found your constant rhyming recapitulate but on the whole you have talent for tale :rose: the two that stood out to me are:
Love Kills
and
I walk on

now on to one of my favorite authors at literotica

CMLseries~Deep Valentino by none other than
Wanton Vixen
your imagery, metaphor's and descriptions are enough to leave a priest on his knee's begging for more.
nice work Vixx <I blow you a  >

now on to the last one for the day...because I am a shameless braggart.

Carbon
I wrote this one not out of loss but acceptance for the end which comes for everything in this world. I will make the most of what I have, no matter how long it lasts. When it is gone I will enjoy my memories of such golden times.

alright now, I have to go to work and you all have some reading to do. lots of love to all our wonderful poets...keep writing. :rose: Sabina

New Poems of Thursday April 28, 2005

I saw 18 new submissions on this fourth Thursday of April, but as always I also bring you one non-erotic "spinner" from the archives.

Today's golden oldie:
This poem I spun-up from October of 2003. If you enjoy it, click on the name and go read some more of this longtime Lit. member’s work. It took me only 1 spin to find this poem by Senna Jawa.
poetry

poetry
don't you dare
leave me
leaving me all
to my grayself
you're hiding
in the repetitious dialog
of my washer and dryer
in the night rolling of the sea-like
city noise hear the highways
in the crowds
of tiny summer bugs
crawling out of the brown carpet
and exploring my notebook in a hurry
my life's an arrhythmic squeaky sequence
of mishaps and minor misfortunes
while you're longing for the whales wailing
for the song of love
to which
the whole blue ocean listens
how dare I ask poetry
to stay with me
just because
I am a poet

It is probably me, or maybe the drismal rainy days we have been having for the longest time, but I find little to send you off all excited to read today. Lauren Hynde, unarguably one of the best, most helpful, and influential of all Lit. poets, starts the list with the fourth in a series of illustrated poems called Al-Gharb-4 and I find it the least of the four so far. Neither the photograph nor the words do anything for me. If I hadn’t already looked up “Al Gharb” when the first poem came out this one would not make me rush to do it.

***

Next is evelyn_carroll who writes a series of four line strophes connected by the theme of an old British television show, Doctor Who?. It is fairly cleverly written, but as the author points out if you understand all the references then “you need to get a life.”

***

Third in line, with a Smithpeter referent/tribute poem, is Middleagepoet with Through His Glass. This work makes advantageous use of the window metaphor.

***

My fourth mention today goes to bogusbrig who presents Imperfections today. It is one of two of his that are listed as “Erotic”, but I don’t find them so, just well written. This fairly new Lit poet has quite a vocabulary and doesn’t worry about sharing it with us. bogusbrig also has an interesting writing style. The combination of the two usually result in an interesting read. This poem is no exception and is the better of today’s IMHO.

***

Taste is always an individual thing so there may very well be other poems out there today that you will thoroughly enjoy. Go find the ones you really like on the New Poems board and then come back and tell us about them!

As always, please remember that our poets need your support, so RVCF. It won’t come back around if you don’t send it out! ;)

A New Lit. Poet

Today the sun is shining, and there is a new poet on the board. Her bio says she is a gay Scotts lass who signed up yesterday, Marie Marshall. She writes some very good words. My only complaint is that she showed so many of them at once; 11 poems in one day. (A tip to a poetess: Spread the paint of your words over time so that the colors last longer and each tint is more precious.)
When there is so much work by one poet at one time it all runs together. If I visit a beautiful buffet I can only eat to surfeit and I still may not have tried all the dishes. And I can guarantee that the last few bites were not as hungrily absorbed as the first. – Everything in moderation, please.

With the above in mind I recommend that you read some of this new Literotica poetess, and in keeping with the food figure of speech why not start with Pick Raspberries.

Then go and read a few others. Maybe, to use the paint metaphor, Body Paint 2. I think you will enjoy the verse you find. Just don’t read in haste and waste the taste. This is a new writer to keep an eye on! :rose:
(Unfortunately, she does not have the “Public Comments” turned on.) :(

I have just read all of Marie's 11 and I'm glad I started at the bottom and worked up as some of the stronger poems were towards the basement. I liked the fruity ones "Pick Raspberries " and "Who gets the Golden Apple" and "Yes I'll Spank you" :)

New Poems Reviews
for Saturday 30, 2005

"Where do you find inspiration for poetry?"
the student asked the teacher

"There is poetry in every thing you see,"
the teacher replied

the student laughed
"Does that include the out house?"

The teacher smiled
"Write a poem that overwhelms the reader
like the out house aroma does you!"

I was held captive with this enchanting and highly erotic poem, this series has multy levels of stories in an excellent poetic write and this addition is Paramount in a gripping poem about a rock star and his fans lustful apetite. <grin> I am enjoying this series and look forward to more!

I don't do reviews

excuse me, mentions.

'cept when I feel like it. I am a happy camper, after too long an absence, seems like years, two of my clique buds are back.

Maria2394 has Bandora's Pox ( her affliction) ; I've often wondered...what was in her head

WickedEve has S a poem about neither asses nor apples...

and at the risk of imparting 1201's kiss o' death, I just want to say I like this guy Kaishaku

offering Eating Vietnamese

all three made me smile....
a frightening thing to behold

Carry on...
I know you will

Halogenated Hydrocarbons

And the Poet named after the superceded fire extinguisher needs mention/praise/applause whatever you like for American Vignette#0

It is interesting and worth a read or three. :)

Sunday Reviews

Good Sunday all.. here we are again another week has past and Sunday is a power packed day of writing.... no more waiting just reading...

First up..

Eating Vietnamese Kaishaku

Simple complexity in both the writing and the subject, emotional and physical. Many layers to this write.
thank you for the read

Bandora's Pox ( her affliction) Maria2394

Summoned as if she were man's best friend,
she was top-cat heavy with her own self esteem,
and all the envious bitch-cats despised her.
Figment, I liked to call her,
when she would listen, and I admired

Dissection of the primal female using all her natural assets...from an outsiders insides.. excellent write

When Angels Fly My Erotic Tale
Creative, inspiring and simple. You allow the reader into the eyes of the poet. While some of the actual grammical issues can be debated.. I feel that this is strong on its own wings........
du~

American Vignette #0 twelveoone

Strong powerful truthful and stunning. Good job, I tried like hell to find something I did not like about this but I can't beside how the truth you speaks twists within my soul. Thank you

S wicked eve
I feel a zen movement in this work. A light sense to a true emotion. I mentally and physically enjoyed:

i fret over those snakes
curled in the crisscross of wood,
like taffy strings of phobia
when they pull through the lattice.

Good work..

and finally..

Lost Soul angelic one

This is a dark but truthful poetic subject. Kissing the dark night of the soul..

Okay all many reads out there so be nice and comment and vote! Hope you all have a great evening
Du~

Thread Hijack

by God I think.

Best of the lot;

Gran's thoughts at the Wedding by ishtat
which uses lines from the Book of Common Prayer, juxtaposed with thoughts from a mind of someone so familiar, but who I wouldn't want to get into.

The Wanderer by quietpoet
A flawed piece about a flawed world, and seems to have wandered in here from somewhere else, so not the standard fare.

Lastly, a new discovery for me, bogusbrig. Who has a real sense of consistency about words, check out his other stuff, too.
Space World
Ordinarily, lines like these really don't belong in poetry,

"Through the vitreous screen that convolutes out
Beyond my window stretched like a lamé skin"

"How our experience seriously contrives to understand
And light our minds to all that is impossible to know"

But he fits them all together so well,
and speaking of fits ...
the devil has a surprise for you in the middle.

Monday's reviews...

Good morning poets/readers/lurkers/etc. Yay for caffeine, and here goes:

Cimmaron
by pink_tulip

I enjoyed the smooth rhythm and imagery of this. Nicely done. My only complaint- I'm a nag for homonyms.

Warmed and comforted
in a cradle of mud

The Route Out Of Here
by bogusbrig

'Farted' is on that list of words that just gives me the icks in poetry. That said, the description of that grumpy bus and the route it takes isn't lovely in its description so much as it is real. In this case, real makes for the better poem.

The Wanderer
by quietpoet

The thoughts and questions raised by this are more than worth the read. On rereading, the first section is a bit weaker than the rest. Go read this and find out for yourself.

Language Lust
by Syndra Lynn

This would have been toasty without the audio. With, it had me wishing I hadn't read it directly before going to work. Sinful. Delicious.

fuck me with poetic words,
roll them gently ’cross my skin
then bite them deep into my flesh
leaving imprints shaped like consonants

And the New Poems list for today for your perusal and enjoyment. :)

I'll third it, I was sure that one would be covered; Space World is so freakin weird, I wasn't sure. Pulled it off, though.

Twenty eight new poems to review today (May 3rd). Lots of personal odes and angst but here’s my take on what I read and liked.

Kaishaku offers us hajj – A slightly profane pilgrimage and well worth visiting..

Maria Marshall submitted three poems – Kirby Rose/Osaka Rose .- Heaven or Hell ( the title says it all) - but I Used To Be Vanilla Until… a humerous look at BDSM with an oral analogy is my favourite of the three.

Fuckdoll gives us Words – I’m not much one for “Angst” poems but this one’s a cut above the norm.

annaswirls presents beauty, condensed as she begins to fill the recently depleted anna shelves. A great start.

“Sex and shiver of the sexual
being that moves beauty to its side
for a clear view of its closest companion.”

Doctorrose a new arrival and interesting poet offers Solitaire a rather sad but lovely tale of unfulfilled love

Dcpoet44 knows how words – both written and spoken -.can be effective Reader’s Choice It’s your choice but I recommend you read it.

I have to mention SeattleRain’sfuck and flip - she has given us greater quality but even Seattle’s trash can would be worth a read.

Last but not least Miss Oatlash tells of dividing up the spoils of a relationship some not so obvious in Extraction

So there you have it poets - go read, comment and vote.

Wednesday Review's

good morning everyone....I have my coffeee and have read the 23 new poems posted today, here are a few of them for your reviewing pleasure. :)

first on the list comes Senna Jawa 2004-03-14 (2004-02-04)
I couldn't pass up the "E" on this one and was drawn in to find two clear cutting lines. Very clean, meaningful & metaphoric. This is a nice way to show how it does not take much to leave a powerful impact...

Whispers by
wildsweetone
I really like illustrated poetry, it gives the reader a point down a path that might not have been achieved with just the prose. Bogus Brig had a good point in the comments though...which becomes more powerful in this genre, the art or the poem? :rose: any poem that gets the brain pondering this early gets a gold star for the day. nice work

Ablution
for those of you with a dictionary...go look it up. The name/definition gives this poem it's power.
Kaishaku You have an ancient quality to your work that gives it a strong vivid feel. <I bow to you> thank you for this poem.

now on to another Zen Master...
ZMP~driftwood by My Erotic Tale
I have always found the river to be a great sorce of inspiration and peace. The metaphors for life intwined in this poem are graphic and lucid. Bravo :D

and last on the list of the day is
breath stained wood by SeattleRain
very dark...it will take you someplace you might not want to be but that is the point of poetry, to make the reader feel something...even when it is twisted

hey, there were alot of great poems out there today <applause> keep writing.
I'm off for more coffee....Sabina

I don't quite know what to make of this:
40
by bogusbrig

I like it, I think it has some terrible lines, I'm not sure if the lines are terrible, I'm not sure if I love it.
But, still, you don't see lines like these, a reflection of a past.
"A hellish setting just right for mindless violence
A perfect arena for knuckles to rupture faces"

I recommend a read, a comment.

New Poems of Thursday May 5, 2005

I count 35 new submissions on this the first Thursday of May, but as always I also bring you one non-erotic "spinner" from the archives.

Today's past blast:
This poem I spun-up from November of 2002. If you enjoy it, click on the name and go read some more of this longtime Lit. member’s work. It took me 8 spins to find this poem by HomerPindar. I love the word play and assume everything is meant to be as is. (i.e. ‘Denom’ = Demon+denim, ‘slamed’ = slammed+slimed, etc.)
...Dead Poets. Bring Out Your Dead

The body of art crawled up from the dirt
be it a Denom on a tear?
Aiming low against the commoner?
Cad! Cod eyes, can you not see the art from the dead?
Shake off it's loam
hop on its hip
boned
slamed
forced down your own rear end
and watch us dig up this grave art
on shoved L's
spades, spics, spans
wash your hands
(4) on it, (3) hoist, (2) dust, (1)
words
***

Of the 35 poems posted today a large number are worth reading and I am sure some will tickle your specific fancy. – But while today’s crop is rather good, I found very few that standout enough to make me want to praise them above all the others.
So I am going to ask you to go find at least one you really like and come back and tell us about it. Which is your favorite of the New Poems and why?

Here are three to get you started:

Shakespearean Coupling by evelyn_carroll
This one is a ‘must read’ if you are a student of poetry. It is a collection of four humorously erotic sonnets each starting with a line from Shakespeare. The author obviously had fun writing them, and you should enjoy reading them. This is a demonstration of talent, an exercise well done. :rose:

*****

2-28-2002 by Syndra Lynn
I am not a student of Eastern philosophy but I think this one something of a koan. Read it silently, then think about it. ;)

*****

The Story Teller by bogusbrig
There are some interesting passages in this one, but there are too many stylistic ploys and changes for me to claim it is my favorite of this wordsmith’s poems. I would like to see this poem simplified; shortened and tightened. It deserves to be polished.

*****

That’s it from me today. Now it is your turn! Go find the ones you really like on the New Poems board and then come back and tell us about them!

And as always, please remember that our poets need your support, so Read Vote Comment Feedback. It won’t come back around if you don’t send it out! ;)

friday 5.6.05

Good afternoon Poets

Hey, long time no see.

Hopefully I'm not stepping on anyone's toes by doing Friday's New Poem mentions, but it's noon here in Seattle-ish, the sky is falling and I just have the time:

Since there were very few poems that hit the New Poem's page, I decided to pull one from Rybka's and do a spinner for illustrated poetry. I'm fully visual and I find that Angeline is exceptional in creating illustrated poetry.

Ange's Gemini is no exception.

angeline_gemini.jpg

With the new poems, a few piqued my interest:

The Gardening Heart by LuciousBi-Writes4U is essentially a illustrated poem to me with it's interesting description and texture.

Another descriptive bit, although on the questionable crass side is A Plain Simple Bloke! by Uncle Pervey. 'Some' of Unc's poems just make me laugh, period.

I'm a moody bastard any way, so it's given that I liked this short one, broke by 4degrees

That's all I saw for the New Poems today, check out the page and see if yo can find others you might want to mention as well.

Take it EZ,
- neo

Here's what caught my eye~

Still Pond
Great words and perfect pic.

Al-Gharb-5 includes this line-wow!
ochre blood flowers crushed by the sun by the skilful
instruments of light

You Came
Nice triolet with alluring illustration.

The beautiful words we have come to expect from Eve are here. Is that unfair to her? To no longer be surprised by her brilliance? Awestruck, yes. Envious, perhaps. But no longer surprised.

Go read the rest of the New Poems and share the ones that caught your eye.
