New Poll Numbers!

dan_c00000 writes: "You know what all these states have in common? Obama didn't win them..."

Wrong, Dan - Barack Obama won the 2008 Democratic Party primaries in ALL of those above-mentioned states with large percentages of African-Americans! Black Democrats ABANDONED Mrs. Clinton's candidacy in overwhelming numbers - it was why she LOST the nomination that year to Senator Obama!

You are seemingly confusing my above post with how the south was before 1972 - back when the Democratic Party still dominated politics in that region, as the American south was governed by SEGREGATIONISTS who didn't want black people voting! They made it very difficult for them to participate in American democracy with their racist Jim Crow laws enforced by the Ku Kux Klan!

Today, the south is dominated by the REPUBLICAN Party, and that entire racist era is over! The south today is prosperous & growing!

"And just because a state has a large black population, like Alabama does, doesn't mean it's easy for them to vote."

You seem to believe that the modern Democratic Party refuses to allow black voters to participate in Democrat presidential primaries, which is complete NONSENSE! All of those segregationist Democratic Party U.S. Senators have died, and can no longer prevent black voters from dominating their party's primaries!

"Nice try dump but you got yourself double owned on that."

You insist that black voters LOVE Bernie Sanders, Dan - but the 2016 primary results PROVE you WRONG! In those states that have a large black populations, Bernie got SHUT-OUT by Hillary! The states where Senator Sanders defeated Mrs. Clinton ALL have very small black populations (by percentage!)

The states in the U.S. with the highest concentrations of black voters are MOSTLY in the south, Dan. Here are the top 10 U.S. states by percentage of African-Americans, and who they supported in the 2016 Democratic Party primaries:

1. Mississippi - 39% - Hillary Clinton
2. Louisiana - 34% - Hillary Clinton
3. Georgia - 34% - Hillary Clinton
4. Maryland - 32% - Hillary Clinton
5. South Carolina - 28% - Hillary Clinton
6. Alabama - 28% - Hillary Clinton
7. Delaware - 25% - Hillary Clinton
8. North Carolina - 24% - Hillary Clinton
9. Virginia - 21% - Hillary Clinton
10. Tennessee - 18% - Hillary Clinton

Next... here are the BOTTOM ten-states by percentage of African-Americans, and which candidate they supported in the 2016 Democratic Party primaries:

1. Montana - 1% - Bernie Sanders
2. Idaho - 1% - Bernie Sanders
3. Wyoming - 2% - Bernie Sanders
4. Vermont - 2% - Bernie Sanders
5. Maine - 2% - Bernie Sanders
6. Utah - 2% - Bernie Sanders
7. New Hampshire - 2% - Bernie Sanders
8. South Dakota - 3% - Hillary Clinton
9. Oregon - 3% - Bernie Sanders
10. New Mexico - 3% - Hillary Clinton

I am now going to REPEAT your above quote, Dan: "If you look at the numbers close you'll see Bernie was, and remains, popular with young black voters."

Actually, the bolded states are ALL in the South. MD and DE were slave states, although they did not secede, and are south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Did you guys see me short circuit dump? I've got him praising Obama. My work here is done.

Boxlicker101 writes: "You're right. Actually, it's east of the MD Line, but it would be considered part of the North."

Before the U.S. Civil War, Delaware was one of fifteen "slave states" in our country. But it never seceded from the Union.

The point I was making is that the American south has a much higher percentage of BLACK voters than does the northeast & midwest. Dan mistakenly argued that Bernie Sanders was popular with black voters, when the Democratic Party's primaries in 2016 showed the exact OPPOSITE to be true - as Bernie LOST in every state that had a large percentage of black Democrat voters!

And then Dan changed the subject and said that the segregationists still ran the Democratic Party in the south, ignoring the fact that Barack Obama defeated Hillary Clinton in ALL of the 2008 Democrat primaries in southern states! And that's when you guys began debating as to whether or not Delaware is in the north or the south!

I'm ALWAYS praising Barack Obama, Dan! In 2010, the guy almost single-handedly DESTROYED Democratic Party power in the U.S. House & Senate! And when he & Michelle began campaigning for Hillary in 2016, that pretty-much guaranteed that she was going to lose!

The latest poll numbers show the two old white guys both slipping somewhat... "Gropin' Joe" still leads with 31.9% support... Bernie's down to 15.0... Liz Warren is 3rd with 11.9... Buttigieg & Kamala are now tied at 7.1... Beto is 3.6... Booker's at 2.3... with the remaining 17-candidates at one-percent or less apiece!
