New Poll Numbers!

Considering Margaret Sanger’s views on immigration, Dumpington should be on her side.

YDB95 writes: "So now the Klan is a joke? Just when I thought my opinion of you couldn't get any lower..."

Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger certainly didn't see the Klan as a joke. She respected the KKK enough to accept an invitation to SPEAK before that virulently racist hate group. YOU claim she only wanted to discuss women's health issues, while I'M guessing that she wanted to explain to them how abortion could help keep the American south's black population in check.

Exactly, Dump. You're guessing. You're guessing she advocated for something the evidence shows she didn't support at all, because that makes it easy for you to hate the woman who founded Planned Parenthood. The belief that Margaret Sanger supported using abortion to keep the black population in check is a lie invented to fool people like you, nothing more! The evidence proves as much.

"First of all, Dump, you almost always put words in your opponents mouth - as you just did with me in this very post with your claim about Jussie Smollett. In reality, I have never once said anything in his defense."

No, YDB95, you haven't. But you HAVE demonstrated a very SHALLOW set of principles that you will abandon in a heartbeat, just like your heroes on the politically-progressive left so regularly do! In the immediate aftermath of Jussie's racist-hoax-attack, the outpouring of support for Jussie from the Trump-hating Hollywood-left was deafening, as were the tweets of love & support from Democratic Party presidential candidates, & Nancy Pelosi! They didn't CARE about the facts - they simply wanted to BELIEVE that a gay-black-Trump-hating actor had been jumped by a couple of MAGA-hat-wearing African men from Nigeria.

Or maybe they simply made a mistake that was very, very easy to make in an era when things like that really do happen with depressing frequency. But the point is, you have repeatedly accused me of supporting Smollett, and now even you admit I never have.

"I say yes. He brought attention to the very real problem of racist police brutality, and it made a difference."

Yes, Colin Kaepernick made a difference. He DAMAGED the NFL with lower attendence & television ratings. But are you now saying that he in any ways ENDED black guys getting arrested by police? Are race-relations BETTER than they were, thanks to Kaepernick disrespecting our flag?

Certainly more people are aware of the harsh reality of police brutality, and he helped get more people thinking and talking about it. That's the first step towards putting a stop to it.

"There was no such order. Get your terminology straight."

While Barack Obama was president, he issued an executive order (number 13672) forbidding businesses working with the government from discriminating against homosexual and/or transgender individuals. The president instructed public schools in May of 2016 to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms matching their chosen "gender identity," threatening to withhold funding for those schools that did not comply. Less than a month after taking office, President Trump REVOKED Obama's executive order.

Correct. But you said the executive order was "allowing transgendered guys to use women's bathrooms". Transgendered guys are men. They were not allowed to use women's bathrooms under Obama's order. Transgendered women were, of course, but that's not what you said. Hence my advisory to get your terminology straight! You're so full of hate you can't keep track of all the targets of your hatred anymore. Pathetic.

Ah, now, you're making Dumpy seem all stupid and such.

Well, he did get fooled by a photoshop from four years ago.

If dump could be bothered to read and not masturbate to his KKK buddies he'll note the talk was given in Silver Lake, NJ of all places. And that later on MLK wrote of Sanger after accepting an award from Planned Parenthood named in her honor "There is a striking kinship between our movement and Margaret Sanger’s early efforts. She, like we, saw the horrifying conditions of ghetto life. Like we, she knew that all of society is poisoned by cancerous slums. Like we, she was a direct actionist — a nonviolent resister."

So unless dump wants to argue that MLK was a secret Klan member he's, once again, very wrong about history.

When Trump revoked that EO, he favored Catholicism and violated the 1st Amendment.

KeithD writes: "Ah, now, you're making Dumpy seem all stupid and such."

Yes, Keith - I always thought of the Ku Kux Klan as a racist hate group, but badbabysitter & yourself have corrected me in pointing out that the ONLY thing the KKK women were interested in hearing about from Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger were women's health issues regarding things like birth control! The Klan thanks you both for setting the record straight!

phrodeau writes: "Considering Margaret Sanger’s views on immigration, Dumpington should be on her side."

I don't know anything about her views on immigration, phrodeau - but I'm pretty sure that Margaret Sanger would have proposed using ABORTION as a means to keep the Mexican-American population in check here in the United States. And her Ku Kux Klan audience would have warmly applauded that idea!

dan_c00000 writes: "So unless dump wants to argue that MLK was a secret Klan member he's, once again, very wrong about history."

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a registered Republican, Dan - so there's NO WAY he'd have been a member of the Klan - that's the wrong political party!

phrodeau writes: "When Trump revoked that EO, he favored Catholicism and violated the 1st Amendment."

It's too bad Robert Mueller couldn't have included that in his report, phrodeau! But perhaps the Democratic Party can use it as a campaign issue in 2020?

YDB95 writes: "The belief that Margaret Sanger supported using abortion to keep the black population in check is a lie invented to fool people like you, nothing more! The evidence proves as much."

I see what you're saying, YDB95 - an audience of virulently racist Ku Kux Klan women would have booed her off of the stage if Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger had proposed destroying black babies in the womb! After all, KKK mothers aren't monsters, right?

"But the point is, you have repeatedly accused me of supporting Smollett, and now even you admit I never have."

No, you never spoke out in support of Jussie - you're not that stupid! But most of the declared Democratic Party presidential candidates for 2020 DID tweet out their love & support for the anti-Trump Hollywood actor, along with Nancy Pelosi and countless celebrities! I think that we can both admit they they were a bunch of gullible fools!

"That's the first step towards putting a stop to it."

And how exactly was disrespecting our flag & national anthem every Sunday helping to put a stop to it?

I watched the nightly-news just last night about violent demonstrations in Memphis, Tennessee - after police there shot & killed a violent young black thug (named Brandon Webber). HOW is proclaiming that guy a civil rights' heroes helping to improve things? He was a murderous criminal!

"You're so full of hate you can't keep track of all the targets of your hatred anymore. Pathetic."

Seriously? I'm "full of hate" for wanting only GIRLS to compete in women's athletics events? If you want to witness REAL HATRED, just look at some of the things that modern political-progressives are saying about President Trump!

And... since this thread is supposed to be about Poll Numbers, here's today's latest: Biden is at 32.3%... Bernie's dropped a tad to 16.5... Liz is moving-up slightly to 11.8... Buttigieg is at 7.8... Kamala continues to fade, now at 6.3... Beto drops to 3.5... Cory is at 2.3... while the rest of the pack flounders at one-percent or less.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a registered Republican, Dan

Not true, we've been over that one before. He wasn't a member of either party.

The crazy thing is, I've been listening to you long enough now to see how you could really find that in what I said. But that isn't anywhere near what I did say, and everyone else can see that.

Or that when a person of color claims to have been abused by people wearing MAGA hats, it passes the smell test.

"That's the first step towards putting a stop to it."

And how exactly was disrespecting our flag & national anthem every Sunday helping to put a stop to it?

And how is asking us to live up to the promise of that flag and anthem, and acknowledging the reality that we aren't doing so yet, "disrespecting" anyone but bigots?

I watched the nightly-news just last night about violent demonstrations in Memphis, Tennessee - after police there shot & killed a violent young black thug (named Brandon Webber). HOW is proclaiming that guy a civil rights' heroes helping to improve things? He was a murderous criminal!
Not what I meant and you know it. Even you couldn't possibly be unaware of the long, long list of innocent black Americans who've been murdered by the cops in the past few years.

"You're so full of hate you can't keep track of all the targets of your hatred anymore. Pathetic."

Seriously? I'm "full of hate" for wanting only GIRLS to compete in women's athletics events?
I'll assume you mean "women" rather than "girls"; children shouldn't be competing in adult athletics. But my point was you ranted about letting "transgendered guys" use the women's restroom, when the EO you were whining about did not do that! (Because "transgendered guys" are men. Obama's order enabled them to use the men's restroom when otherwise they'd have had to use the women's.)

If you want to witness REAL HATRED, just look at some of the things that modern political-progressives are saying about President Trump!

Bob Dylan said it best: "Don't hate nothing at all except hatred." That's what I'm seeing from the Democrats, and my only complaint is there isn't enough of it.

YDB95 writes (about D. Martin Luther King, Jr.): "He wasn't a member of either party."

Perhaps you're right - but the National Black Republican Association has long used the slogan 'Martin Luther King Jr. Was A Republican' in its advertising - and during King’s lifetime, many (if not most) African-Americans were, indeed, Republicans.

Early in our nation's history, the Democratic Party was the party of slavery and segregation. The Confederacy was founded and run by Democrats, while President Abraham Lincoln was a Republican - and the Republican Party became the anti-slavery party in 1854. In 1866, it was members of the Democratic Party who founded the Ku Kux Klan to fight back against reconstruction, while Republicans continued to fight against segregation & racism. It was the Republicans who founded the NAACP in 1909. Which brings us into King’s time, and he would have certainly been influenced by these past events.

"The crazy thing is, I've been listening to you long enough now to see how you could really find that in what I said"

It's pretty obvious that I don't respect Margaret Sanger as much as you do, nor do I consider her connections to the Ku Kux Klan to be as innocent as you apparently believe them to be. I think that she was a racist with very little respect for human life!

"Or that when a person of color claims to have been abused by people wearing MAGA hats, it passes the smell test"

Jussie Smollett had no doubt been listening to his fellow Trump-haters in Hollywood going on & on for OVER TWO-YEARS about Trump-supporters beating up gays & black people without seeing any proof of it ever actually happening, and so he figured: "Hey, I'm an actor... I can stage my VERY OWN racist attack and everybody will love me!" And so that's what he did - he paid a couple of black Nigerian guys to put on red MAGA hats and pretend to abuse him! The problem is, NOBODY BELIEVED IT aside from his fellow Hollywood liberals and those gullible Democratic Party presidential candidates!

"And how is asking us to live up to the promise of that flag and anthem, and acknowledging the reality that we aren't doing so yet, "disrespecting" anyone but bigots?"

Modern liberal Democrats are ALWAYS ready to disrespect the United States! When I was younger, anti-war lefties liked to BURN the American flag, knowing that other lefties were always there to cheer them on! Colin Kaepernick decided to go one better - openly insulting his country by kneeling down on the sidelines during our national anthem as a sign of blatant disrespect. And YES, political-progressives predictably cheered him on!

But then the big baby started crying when no NFL team wanted him on their rosters anymore - seriously, what did he expect?

"I'll assume you mean "women" rather than "girls"; children shouldn't be competing in adult athletics."

At the high school level, I still call them "girls!" And I also continue to believe that girls/women's sports should ONLY be for girls/women!

"Bob Dylan said it best: "Don't hate nothing at all except hatred." That's what I'm seeing from the Democrats, and my only complaint is there isn't enough of it."

The modern Democratic Party is ALL ABOUT hating President Trump! They are the political party of endless hatred in the United States today!

The Republicans have said a LOT of things about Martin Luther King that are patently untrue. It's no surprise that's another of them.

Actually, Dump, it was the Republicans who put the nail in the coffin of Reconstruction in order to win the disputed election of 1876, thereby ensuring that the legacy of slavery would go untreated for the time being (it turned out to be about 90 years). Which doesn't mean the Democrats of that era weren't racist - plenty of them were - but the Republicans were no heroes to the cause either.

It was the Republicans who founded the NAACP in 1909.
Wrong. It was founded that year to mark the centennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth, but that's the closest the NAACP came to any direct affiliation with the Republicans - then or at any subsequent time. One of the founders was a Republican, but another was a Socialist. The best-known of the founders, W.E.B. DuBois, was known for encouraging blacks to abandon the Republican party in the early years of the 20th century because he believed (rightly in my view) that they were insufficiently supportive of their rights.

Which brings us into King’s time, and he would have certainly been influenced by these past events.

The events you're referring to were 20 years before King was born, and half a century before he became a leader of the cause. A lot had changed in that time, and besides, you've got your facts wrong as usual.

That's because you know nothing about her true record, as you have demonstrated time and again.

"And how is asking us to live up to the promise of that flag and anthem, and acknowledging the reality that we aren't doing so yet, "disrespecting" anyone but bigots?"

Modern liberal Democrats are ALWAYS ready to disrespect the United States!

If by "disrespect the United States" you mean "want to see it live up to its true promise and set right what's wrong and unjust"...then yes, we always are ready to do that!

When I was younger, anti-war lefties liked to BURN the American flag, knowing that other lefties were always there to cheer them on!

There have been maybe a few dozen documented cases of flag burning since the '80s. Maybe.

Colin Kaepernick decided to go one better - openly insulting his country by kneeling down on the sidelines during our national anthem as a sign of blatant disrespect. And YES, political-progressives predictably cheered him on!

The only thing he was disrespecting was hatred and police brutality. I don't see why you have a problem with that.

But then the big baby started crying when no NFL team wanted him on their rosters anymore - seriously, what did he expect?
I don't pretend to know. But it's too bad the NFL felt the need to kowtow to right-wing political correctness.

"I'll assume you mean "women" rather than "girls"; children shouldn't be competing in adult athletics."

At the high school level, I still call them "girls!" And I also continue to believe that girls/women's sports should ONLY be for girls/women!

No one is disputing that, Dump. No one.

Endless hatred of hatred, yes.

YDB95 writes: "The Republicans have said a LOT of things about Martin Luther King that are patently untrue. It's no surprise that's another of them."

Fair enough - but here are five things that Republicans have said about the Democratic Party that are 100% TRUE:

1) The Democratic Party was the party of slavery and segregation.

2) The Confederacy was founded and run by Democrats, while President Abraham Lincoln was a Republican.

3) The Republican Party became America's anti-slavery party in 1854.

4) In 1866, it was members of the Democratic Party who founded the Ku Kux Klan to fight back against reconstruction, while Republicans continued to fight against segregation & racism.

5) It was the Republicans who founded the NAACP in 1909.

(Regarding the founders of the NAACP): "One of the founders was a Republican, but another was a Socialist."

Okay, I'll agree with you that that socialist founder was almost certainly a Democrat.

(About Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger): "That's because you know nothing about her true record, as you have demonstrated time and again."

We both agree that Margaret Sanger addressed an audience of Ku Kux Klan women in the mid-1920's. This was hardly surprising, as Sanger’s disdain for blacks, minority groups, and the diseased & disabled spawned the birth of an abortion corporation (Planned Parenthood) that profits from the killing of the weakest and most vulnerable among us.

(About athletics figures openly disrespecting their country in public): "If by "disrespect the United States" you mean "want to see it live up to its true promise and set right what's wrong and unjust"...then yes, we always are ready to do that!"

So you're saying that they CAN'T make the United States a better place while at the same time RESPECTING this country? Did you read that directly off of the Democratic Party's 2020 campaign website? THIS is why Trump won, YDB95! Your party is off the rails!

"The only thing he was disrespecting was hatred and police brutality. I don't see why you have a problem with that."

Once again, explain to me HOW kneeling down on the sideline of NFL games while our national anthem is playing prevents police brutality? Seriously, HOW does that work? THIS is why the American heartland has abandoned the Democratic Party!

(Regarding the House Democrats): "Endless hatred of hatred, yes."

I know that the Democrats continue to believe that their party only got control of the U.S. House of Representatives because of their DEEP HATRED for President Trump, but that's not how politics works. They've accomplished ABSOLUTELY NOTHING since capturing the House, and Nancy Pelosi is already beginning to see the writing on the wall in 2020. Either they impeach Trump and then lose the fight in the U.S. Senate (which would cripple them), or they continue to do nothing (which will cost Nancy her speakership)! Either way, their party looks weak & ineffective!

bodysong writes: "ABC News Obtains Trump Campaign’s Internal Polling Showing Him Losing to Biden in Key States"

Remember how badly Hillary Clinton was beating Trump back in June of 2015, seventeen months before the 2016 presidential election? And now you're saying that Joe Biden is leading him in the polls, just like Hillary? Yeah, that's a real concern!

If you go back to June of 1983, I'll bet that there were polls showing that former Democratic Party vice president Walter Mondale was well-ahead of Republican President Reagan in many polls! But on election day '84, Reagan landslided Mondale, setting the all-time record for the most electoral votes ever amassed (525) by any candidate ever!

Joe Biden is a terrible candidate, as he proved when he ran in '88 and '08. If the Democratic Party is foolish enough to nominate him next year, they fully deserve what they get!

If your point is that things can change in a year and a half, well, of course they can. But I'd still rather be ten points up than ten points down.

YDB95 writes: "The Republicans have said a LOT of things about Martin Luther King that are patently untrue. It's no surprise that's another of them."

Technically accurate, but ignoring volumes of context there, as you know because we've been over it several times before.

4) In 1866, it was members of the Democratic Party who founded the Ku Kux Klan to fight back against reconstruction, while Republicans continued to fight against segregation & racism.

Not really. The truth is neither party did much to fight segregation until the 1960s - and then it was the Democrats who took the lead.

5) It was the Republicans who founded the NAACP in 1909.

I just debunked that. Go ahead and cling to it like you always do, but it's wrong.

(Regarding the founders of the NAACP): "One of the founders was a Republican, but another was a Socialist."

Okay, I'll agree with you that that socialist founder was almost certainly a Democrat.

No, he was a Socialist. They were a substantial third party in that era.

Like I said, you know nothing about Margaret Sanger or her true record. Thanks for proving my point for me.

I can't think of anything MORE respectful of one's country than calling on it to live up to its promise of liberty and justice for all.

Did you read that directly off of the Democratic Party's 2020 campaign website? THIS is why Trump won, YDB95! Your party is off the rails!

No, Trump won because of Russian meddling, and because we sadly underestimated how much raw racism there still is out there. I was sure Trump's openly racist pandering was going to alienate usually-Republican voters in the well-educated suburbs, and it did. But there were just enough deplorables elsewhere to offset the difference, plus a lot of Democratic voters were apathetic because they weren't crazy for Clinton and they thought she had it in the bag anyway. Needless to say, no one will be so apathetic or sure of themselves in 2020, so I wouldn't count on lightning striking twice if I were you.

"The only thing he was disrespecting was hatred and police brutality. I don't see why you have a problem with that."

Once again, explain to me HOW kneeling down on the sideline of NFL games while our national anthem is playing prevents police brutality? Seriously, HOW does that work?

By bringing the issue to the attention of people who otherwise could (and mostly did) just choose not to notice what was happening. And it worked, which I suspect is really what pisses you off so much here.

THIS is why the American heartland has abandoned the Democratic Party!

I agree. Too many voters there either don't give a shit about systemic racism, or they actively support it.

(Regarding the House Democrats): "Endless hatred of hatred, yes."

I know that the Democrats continue to believe that their party only got control of the U.S. House of Representatives because of their DEEP HATRED for President Trump, but that's not how politics works.

Actually, that pretty much IS how it works. The president's party almost always loses seats in the midterm election because the opposition is fired up and the supporters aren't (because they haven't gotten everything they wanted out of the president). And before you spew your usual nonsense about Kavanaugh saving the Senate for the Republicans, remember the Dems had almost three times as many Senate seats to defend as the Republicans did, and they still won a large majority of the seats that were up for grabs.

They've accomplished ABSOLUTELY NOTHING since capturing the House, and Nancy Pelosi is already beginning to see the writing on the wall in 2020.

Every time you tell us what a prominent Democrat is thinking, we all know perfectly well you're just seeing what you want to see. Don't you get that?

Either they impeach Trump and then lose the fight in the U.S. Senate (which would cripple them), or they continue to do nothing (which will cost Nancy her speakership)! Either way, their party looks weak & ineffective!
I could give you a laundry list of things they have done or tried to do, and I could back it up with the harsh reality that there's no chance of compromise with Der Gropenfuhrer...but it wouldn't matter to you anyway.

YDB95 writes: "But I'd still rather be ten points up than ten points down."

When polls are ALL that your party has going for it, I suppose that's true.

"The truth is neither party did much to fight segregation until the 1960s - and then it was the Democrats who took the lead."

President Lyndon Johnson certainly took the lead, but he ONLY passed his civil rights legislation with Republican votes, as the segregationist southern Democrats opposed him every step of the way!

"No, he was a Socialist. They were a substantial third party in that era."

That was then and this is now - TODAY'S socialists are ALL in the Democratic Party!

"Thanks for proving my point for me."

And thanks for backing up my point that the abortion lobby RULES the modern Democratic Party, despite any obvious ties it may have with the Ku Kux Klan!

"I can't think of anything MORE respectful of one's country than calling on it to live up to its promise of liberty and justice for all."

And I hope that the American people notice that the modern Democratic Party "respects" America by insulting law enforcement & disrespecting our flag, along the ongoing twisted cultural changes that your party is attempting to force upon this country!

"No, Trump won because of Russian meddling, and because we sadly underestimated how much raw racism there still is out there..."

You're STILL peddling that bullsh*t that anybody who didn't vote for Barack Obama is a racist, and anybody who doesn't want Islamic Sharia Law here in America is a white nationalist, and anybody who opposes seeing men competing against girls in athletics events is "trans-phobic" - this is EXACTLY why Trump won in 2016, YDB95, and why he'll win AGAIN in 2020!

"The president's party almost always loses seats in the midterm election because the opposition is fired up and the supporters aren't..."

Hold it right there - and let's look at the U.S. Senate in midterm elections... Clinton's party LOST eight-seats in '94... Bush's Republicans WON two-seats in 2002... Obama's Dems LOST six-seats in 2010... Trump's party WON two-seats in 2018. It seems to me that only the Democrats do poorly in the U.S. Senate during midterms!

"I could give you a laundry list of things they have done or tried to do, and I could back it up with the harsh reality that there's no chance of compromise with Der Gropenfuhrer..."

When you write "Der Gropenfuhrer," is that supposed to be Joe Biden? I mean, we weren't even talking about the candidate of "Grope & Change," were we? But, like you pointed out, he's leading in the polls seventeen months before election day, so you might as well enjoy it!

YDB95 writes: "But I'd still rather be ten points up than ten points down."

When polls are ALL that your party has going for it, I suppose that's true.

Then it's a good thing polls aren't all the Dems have going for them, isn't it?

"The truth is neither party did much to fight segregation until the 1960s - and then it was the Democrats who took the lead."

President Lyndon Johnson certainly took the lead, but he ONLY passed his civil rights legislation with Republican votes, as the segregationist southern Democrats opposed him every step of the way!

The Republicans helped, but the majority of the vote for the Civil Rights Act in BOTH houses of congress came from the Democrats. The real divide was regional: Southern members of both parties voted monolithically against passage, while Northern members broke heavily in favour. And as LBJ correctly predicted at the time, the South responded by flipping heavily to the Republicans immediately. (Spare me the lecture about Jimmy Carter; one exception in 50+ years only proves my point.)

"No, he was a Socialist. They were a substantial third party in that era."

That was then and this is now - TODAY'S socialists are ALL in the Democratic Party!

No, they're not. Bernie Sanders, for example, has never been a member of the Democratic Party.

"Thanks for proving my point for me."

And thanks for backing up my point that the abortion lobby RULES the modern Democratic Party, despite any obvious ties it may have with the Ku Kux Klan!

Want to guess what, if anything, the modern-day Klan thinks about abortion rights? It's most likely not what you'd like to think.

Since those cultural changes are making transformations nearly everywhere that are not going to go away, I hope so too! The share of Archie Bunker-style I-hate-everyone-but-me voters is shrinking all the time. There were just enough of them in the right states to elect Trump, but I wouldn't count on it happening again.

"No, Trump won because of Russian meddling, and because we sadly underestimated how much raw racism there still is out there..."

You're STILL peddling that bullsh*t that anybody who didn't vote for Barack Obama is a racist, and anybody who doesn't want Islamic Sharia Law here in America is a white nationalist, and anybody who opposes seeing men competing against girls in athletics events is "trans-phobic"

Nope. What I am saying - among other things - is that anyone who seriously believes anyone else supports bringing Sharia Law to America is part of the problem. And yes, we on the left underestimated how much of that there is. I won't even bother starting again on the reality of which party really is pushing policies that look a lot like Sharia Law.

And no, not everyone who didn't vote for Obama is a racist. But everyone who voted for Trump was, at the least, willing to vote for a racist. In some ways I consider that even worse than actually being a racist oneself, but I concede it doesn't mean they necessarily are one.

this is EXACTLY why Trump won in 2016, YDB95, and why he'll win AGAIN in 2020!

I fear you may be right: there my still be enough open bigotry out there to pull it off again. We'll see.

You're cherrypicking. Bush's Republicans lost a lot of seats in 2006, and the Dems under Clinton broke even in 1998. The Senate is different in that only a third of it is ever up at one time, and the makeup of that class depends on what happened the last time they were up. As I already explained - and you know it - that was a major factor in the last election, where the Dems had three times as many seats to defend as the Republicans because they had won big in 2006 and 2012.

You know exactly who I mean, and how utterly unwilling he is to meet anyone halfway on anything.

YDB95 writes: "Then it's a good thing polls aren't all the Dems have going for them, isn't it?"

Back in 2016, the polls were ALL pointing to Mrs. Clinton winning big right from the very beginning. The entertainment community and most of the mainstream national news media outlets were loyally backing her candidacy. But, in the end, none of that mattered - she lost - and it's going to be even worse for the Democratic Party's presidential candidate (whomever that may be) in 2020, as President Trump has a solid record of accomplishments to run on that he didn't have in 2016!

"And as LBJ correctly predicted at the time, the South responded by flipping heavily to the Republicans immediately."

Yes, President Johnson saw something that all of those southern segregationist senators (and lifelong Democrats) didn't see, and that was that his "Great Society" welfare-state programs would have, in LBJ's own words: "I'll have those n*ggers voting Democrat for the next two-hundred years!" But as it turns out, his prediction was more like FIFTY-years!

"Bernie Sanders, for example, has never been a member of the Democratic Party."

Bernie's NOT a Democrat... but in 2016 he almost defeated Hillary for that party's nomination (many Dems still believe the whole thing was rigged in her favor), and in 2020 he's currently running second to "Gropin' Joe" Biden! It's like the entire Democratic Party is moving TOWARDS Bernie!

"Want to guess what, if anything, the modern-day Klan thinks about abortion rights?"

The modern-day Ku Kux Klan, along with Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger and the Nazi Party, ALL share the exact same idea regarding abortion: it's a good way to keep "undesirables" from ever being born! Abortion is PERFECT for those people (and hate groups) who put a very LOW value on human life!

"There were just enough of them in the right states to elect Trump, but I wouldn't count on it happening again."

There were just enough anti-American-organizations & angry-hate-groups like Antifa and the #BlackLivesMatter movement to elect Barack Obama president, but by the end of his second term, it would appear that their racist/sexist hatreds had no more clout. They certainly DIDN'T help Mrs. Clinton in 2016, and judging by the sorry collection of candidates running for next year's Democratic Party presidential nomination, it won't be happening in 2020, either!

"But everyone who voted for Trump was, at the least, willing to vote for a racist."

You really can't help but label all Trump-voters as racists, sexists, and/or trans-phobes! Of course, in 2016, Hillary herself labelled Trump-supporters as "deplorables" - it's a badge that they would wear proudly! And in 2020, black & hispanic voter support for the Democrat nominee will be even MORE SHALLOW than it was for Mrs. Clinton in 2016! President Trump is giving minority voters JOBS, while Joe Biden is promising them that he'll cure cancer!

"The Senate is different in that only a third of it is ever up at one time, and the makeup of that class depends on what happened the last time they were up."

Again, two years into the Clinton & Obama presidencies, a total of FOURTEEN Democratic Party U.S. Senate seats were a net-LOSS - while two years into the Bush & Trump presidencies, a total of FOUR SEATS were a net-GAIN! Those numbers pretty much speak for themselves!

"You know exactly who I mean, and how utterly unwilling he is to meet anyone halfway on anything."

For anybody supporting Joe Biden (or Bill Clinton) to comment on Donald Trump's behavior towards women just seems to me to be the heighth of hypocrisy!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a registered Republican

More lies. Here's what King actually said:

“I don’t think the Republican Party is a party full of the almighty God, nor is the Democratic Party. They both have weaknesses. And I’m not inextricably bound to either party.”

When you get owned that hard how does it feel? Do you cry and feel bad? Or do you just get angrier and piss yourself?

By the way dump you still haven't told us why you support Trump's policy of murdering children.

You've got it completely backwards, Dan. Pro-choice people are the ones who support murdering unborn children.

President Trump is what's known as PRO-LIFE!

Trump has already placed TWO pro-life justices on our U.S. Supreme Court (Neil Gorsuch & Brett Kavanaugh) - why would he do that if he was pro-choice?

As for my supporting Joe Biden, my answer to you is very simple: I DON'T!

Like most reasonable people, I expect MLK voted for candidates, rather than a party. However, when you consider how, when he was 18 years old and able to vote in state and local elections, and the Dem. party in the South was dominated by the Ku Klux Klan, do you honestly believe that was his party of registration? I don't know for sure, but I believe he would have been registered either as a member of the GOP or as an independent.

hmmm.

of course,

trump would never support something that is available for all; he only supports his own way of murdering people. He only supports hospitalized deaths for the rich and influential, and alleyway deaths for the poor.

You're such a trigger bomber and a phony, you don't give a shit about either. Don't you have enough problems with your own brexit?

RubenR writes: "trump would never support something that is available for all; he only supports his own way of murdering people."

So you're saying that Donald Trump would NEVER support Planned Parenthood's way of murdering people, Ruben? Because I really can't argue with you there!

"He only supports hospitalized deaths for the rich and influential, and alleyway deaths for the poor."

Planned Parenthood prefers that children's lives be terminated in abortion clinics where PP can cash-in on marketing the body parts. There's no money in it for the folks at Planned Parenthood if abortion doctors do their grisly work in back-alleys!

icanhelp writes (about dan_c00000): "RACIST DAN; doing what you do best, irrelevancy."

Somebody told Dan (probably as a joke) that President Trump is pro-choice (e.g. wants taxpayer-funded abortions), and Dan actually believed it! He isn't exactly the brightest bulb on the shelf, is he?
