Torn Stokings, I think if you ask a co-writer will attempt to accomodate either first or third person. It may take a bit of acclimation to become accustomed to it if they're justed to writing in one or the other, and perhaps a gentle reminder, but I'll bet it will happen.
This may be a bit like preaching to the chior, but this is advice I was given several years ago, pre word prossors and comp *g*, so I'll pass it on to you and any others interested:
I met a famous Sci Fi writer at a convention once and we had a nice chat. When he found out I 'dabbled' in writing as intellectual gifts to special people this is the advice I was given.
"When you write you have to draw your reader into the story so completely that they can identify and become the character or characters.
The reader's have to have very complete word pictures drawn for them so they too can see and smell and taste and feel and touch and hear what's happening within the story.
They also need to be able to know what the character's are thinking and/or their motivation to 'flesh them out' and make them more real as 'people'.
Now you can go overboard and that's where experience comes in, but once you've found out you really don't have to describe every tree, blade of grass and rock just paint a good verbal picture and you integrate a "real person", i.e. the character(s), into that scene along with what's happening you've turned on their mental tv or movie and you've got 'em hooked until the story ends, if you keep it up."
To that advice, today, I'd add a suggestion to use a word processing program for a spell check and certainly to proofread either way.
Several I've read have spelllng difficulties for one reason or another and it makes reading what they write difficult to enjoy. Having to stop the flow of reading to puzzle out a word is, to me, like hitting a big pot hole on a highway. It just bounces me out of what was happening and I have to get back in the flow again once I have.
Copying and pasting is quick and easy and it would add to everyone's reading pleasure.
BTW, this is for one and all and not directed at any one particular writer here and certainly not to you TS. *S

Well, since my partner and I are currently paused on our thread, the feedback I've recieved from everyone has paused as well. I just wanted to say that I'm in awe at most of the writers here, and feel very much the virgin that this bulletin board names me as. Please continue to send me your encouraging words and suggestions.
