You know, I wasn't shy about registering.. I was more shy about trying to write with people that had so many things to say and the talent to say them.

I felt like I came home when I came here.

Funny. If you would have asked me last year to write anything, I would have said no way...

Pleased to have you join, have fun and mingle with some of the other writers or jump straight into a thread if its open.

If you have an idea for a thread , you can put it on the board as open or start one closed with any writer you feel comfortable with and like their style.

I've been doing it for quite awhile and wasn't aware I shouldn't be promoting thread I write in, but I'll certainly stop and since that's the case I know that you, too, will stop won't you Spellcaster, i.e. "The China Pearl Inn, China Pearl Bath and Teahouse and Rick's Rooftop".

Yes i know you've been doing it for awhile and i do believe that Lovelynice is quite capable of promoting her own threads.

From what ive seen she is quite talented as a writer but every welcome from you is a plug for that.


I haven't been promoting threads and think the starter of this thread would feel the same way.

They are all OOC's where writers mingle and test the water in a safe environment.

Yes it is but for some the places i promote all of which are were many writers hang out, they are not threads as such.

they are very good for newbies to test the water so to speak without drowning.

Not that they will, the whole of lit is a great place to be at.

Ok I speak as and oldie who once was a newbie, if someone had said to me "oh check out such and such a thread" when I was new i'd have been a very hapy bunny. As it was i sort of flailed around and tripped up over decent threads to look at.

I think if the thread starter is promoting the fact they're looking for players anyone on that SRP should be able to do the same. the more people recruiting the more response ones likely to get


so there is my two penneth worth on the subject!

I know you'll have a ball here, we all do. *G* Do take a few to read Hecate's Guide up top.. pointing above this thread, it's a great guide for newcomers.

If you happen to be female, we've got lots of males and need to balance or overbalance the ratio a bit toward the female side *g*, take a look at Hot, Wet Planet and also our diverged Lord of the Rings stories.

Otherwise, any not marked as "Closed" will very likely be open to new players. Dream up a character and post as OOC (out of character) and ask it the character and it's background is acceptable and if you may join in. Bet you'll be welcomed with open arms.

If I can assist you in any way don't hesitate to PM and ask me. I do my best.

Oh yes, to One and All Newcomers... about the PM's. I lost my first name (this one minus the 01) to PM error on my part. I didn't know that the "Saved Folder" will 'hide messages'.
Be Surrrrrre that you delete from the Saved Folder "From the Beginning" in the box upper left. If you don't it will keep messages you won't realize are there for they won't display.
