New York roll call

Oh this made me smile, thank you!

Anyone want to come over and build a snowman and make some snow angels (or snowDoms and spread eagle snow subs if you prefer lol)

Ok so now we are getting a blizzard? Anyone want to come over and build a snowman and make some snow angels (or snowDoms and spread eagle snow subs if you prefer lol).. was looking forward to the Islander/ranger game Tuesday but might be cancelled with 2 to 3 feet of snow forecasted here and 50 MPH winds.. oh well..

On my way!

I have a nice lake to ice fish and hills to sled if you want. It's ONLY going to be about 30 inches here, I think.

can we build an igloo over the fishing hole? Only 30 inches by you? Schools don't even close in upstate NY for that..4 or 5 inches here and everything closes these days here on LI..

Looks like I will be shoveling (snow that is) all day. I have to shovel for two houses, but will not have to do so solo. At least there is one upside to having teenage kids..

Hee hee. I love my teenager. He works for food. Lots of food, but still...

Depending how far out you are on the island you could get SLAMMED. I think my beach house could be buried under snow till April.

Up early even though I don't want to be and watching the weather news. Was hoping it might start earlier today so I could come home early but looks like tonight and tomorrow are going to be bad

Just another l'il ol' nor'easter here on Long Island. Living on the more rural North Fork is great...until you have to shovel the long driveway. Wish me luck! DWM 55yo

Long islander here!

Ugh oh...snow time!

Nassau here!

A NY welcome to both of you.. which seems to involve food (often pizza) in this thread..
Nassau as well.. I thought politicians try to calm people.. watching the news and they are basically saying this will be the worst storm ever and we are going to be without power for days after this, not to mention flooding… sandy with snow? should have bought that generator last year. oh well..

Best of luck with the shoveling.. no teenager kids to do if for you? Some guys get cars to satisfy their midlife crises .. Snowblower and a generator will do nicely for me.. I already shoveled once, hoping to do it in increments but the wind may ruin that plan.

Woo hoo! Made it through our non-apocalyptic event! Still worried about my Suffolk County friends. Hope y'all are OK.

My back is very happy that I don't have two feet of snow but looks like I have some work cut out for me.. all in all not too bad with the white stuff..

Glad I got the day off yesterday even though it probably wasn't necessary! Surprisingly I don't have a lot of work to do today so if anyone is around, drop me a line!

For the most part, in the Bronx, we actually lucked out, with less than a foot of snow. Many friends in Long Island got slammed with over 2 feet. I think the highest snowfall on L.I. was close to 30 inches, around 28 or so.

I heard from a friend/former co-worker, my old firm located in Times Square shut our offices down on Tuesday and told everyone to stay home. Considering that people commute from CT and PA to that location, even if we didn't get as hard-hit as expected, it was better to encourage people to stay put.
