why am I thinking this thread is slowing dying..

To paraphrase Mark Twain, the rumours of NJ Signin's demise are always greatly exagerated. To be sure, we have our ups and downs (and ins and outs) but we always bounce back.

Happy July Third everyone! I hope nobody works for the state and is about to be furloughed or laid off (or whatever they're calling it) in the state budget battle.

Happy Birthday Candiman!

You may thank John Corrzine for the state being closed

"New Jersey - Sorry we are currently closed, please press one for English, leave a message, or call back later"

Everyone have a happy 4th!! i'll be celebrating mine on the 5th. Gotta work today!!

Happy 4th Everyone.....

My dad works for the state...and my sis works in a state office building....so both are "out of work" at the moment....

Welcome to July everyone. Hope the relative silence on the boards this weekend means everyone was out having a good time! I've seen enough fireworks to last at least until Labor Day.

Speaking of fireworks, Mr. Finn, did you get to see the fireworks in Bah-ston after all? How do they compare?

Half the year is gone, and the state is closed. Casinos, the tracks, road construction, Motor Vehicles, state parks, state beaches... what a world! On the other hand, if we lived in Alaska, this morning we'd now know that North Korea had a missle that could reach us... and that's Alaska. Not the Middle East or some Western African country torn by civil war.

On the other hand, while I am not happy about the state shutdown, I am happy that someone seems to be trying to do something about balancing the budget for a change. Instead of just moving some numbers around, congratulating themselves, and breathing a sigh of relief that they (the legislature) are done with the budget for another year, at least someone (Corzine) seems to be putting his foot down and forcing the issue.

Wowza. That was a little preachy for the start of the week! Thankfully, it's a short week!

Labor Dept is closed as well.....so that means anyone on unemployment now gets a $0 for the week.

Good Morning NJ...hope everyone's enjoying sunshine, it's raining here (Reading) I've got one more day to my weekend! YAY

hey everyone, just thought i would check in. rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated

Personally I'd love to start my work week with a hump -- all i need to do is find a willing partner

half the fun of being around so many people is seeing if you can find a quiet spot where hopefully you wont draw too much attention

I personally avoid that many people in a confined space like the plague.
