I have to say that I'm happy about the smoking ban. I'm allergic and it's such a bummer to leave a bar early because I can't breathe! Now I can have my drink and enjoy it!
Being from the northern (better --wink, wink) part of the state, don't get to the beach much because I can't stand the traffic. I love to go to Sandy Hook in the early spring though and walk along the beach and get windblown! We are truly lucky to have beautiful hills and wonderful beaches. Go NJ!!!

Firestorm-I know what you mean about Wildwood. I'm in Stone Harbor and we go to WW once a summer for the kids to go on the rides, but it's a very different place at night. My kids are old enough to want to go off by themselves and it makes me very nervous. That's one of the things I love so much about SH- it's very family oriented. Our biggest problem is gum on the sidewalks (They pay someone to clean it off), and the occasional drunk college kid after midnight.

Wow. I check out for a few days and I come back and this place has run amok! Too many newcomers to acknowledge individually, so a big welcome to all!

OMG Firestorm, I am having a coniption about the smoking ban too. Unfortunately, I do believe they're serious. I moved here from NY right about the time that NY enacted its smoking ban, and I used to joke that now I wouldn't have a reason to quit. But here we are... sigh...

As a smoker I've never felt the need to inflict my own bad habits on other people involuntarily, and I was totally cool about not smoking in restaurants, offices, etc. But a BAR?!?! That one's always bugged me. I mean, no smoking in a health club, fine. But a bar?!?! It'll be interesting to see how the court case pitting the rest of the state against the exemption for Atlantic City casinos plays out.

And is this not the nicest weather? Someone mentioned pork roll and someone else mentioned Jenkinson's. Well yesterday, to celebrate the 80 degree weather, had a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast and later in the day drove past Jenkinsons. Traffic was not "summer unbearable" yet, but pretty tight. Summer's coming!

Whoever mentioned the summer collegiate eye candy, they're not much in evidence yet, but there were quite a few people sunning themselves on the beach yesterday.

I tell ya, at this time of year, some crazy beautiful weather perks your mood right up! Everything seems possible again.

SH, maybe this'll turn out to be "your year" for hooking up with all those out-of-state chickies here for a good time.

One word for SH on the out-of-state chickies...just make sure you pack some ICE in a cooler! LOL Sorry hun...couldn't resist.

The smoking ban...I knew it would happen and can understand. Non-smoking friend of mine used to complain all the time that when she went out to bars, she'd have to take a shower as soon as she got home because of the smoke smell getting in her hair and on her clothes. Drove by a local bar last night and all the doors were open and tons of people standing outside smoking. Strange sight!

Shhhhh...I don't really like hockey...i'm a football fan! lol I was a hockey widow for 18 years...the ex even had a shrine dedicated to the Flyers in our living room! Used to love hockey...but got tired of being let down by my team....so i'm not surprised the Flyers are losing..yet again....

THE only way to watch any sport is topless (or naked), lying on the couch....the only thing better would be someone with me....to have fun during commercials! hehe

It's the best ice cream EVER (my son works there, so I'm partial....lol)!!!! Had a beautiful weekend at the beach, with lots of garden chores finished. I can't wait to be down there full time!
