I watched on YouTube a few videos about a photographer named Clyde Butcher. He works primarily in South Florida and I've enjoyed his work for years. The videos inspired me to get out and shoot a few landscapes and this is what I shot earlier today:

I had my backup camera converted for use as a dedicated infrared (IR) body. This was one of my first experiments with it.

Infrared is interesting. The photos are surreal in that the green foliage is almost completely white while blue skies are very dark. The focus system is also changed as IR wavelengths arrive at the focal plane differently than visible light. I have to manually focus every frame until it looks terrible in the viewfinder and then check the preview for focus accuracy. (As an aside, older lenses will often have a red mark on the focus barrel that shows where to manually focus when using IR film. Lenses designed since the decline of film use no longer have these markings.)

Ekserb- Been a while since I checked in here, but I am glad to see you are still posting photos. You are very talented and I'm always impressed with your pictures. I wish you lived closer, I'd love to have you take pics for me.

I'm glad you continue to check this thread, if even only infrequently. :) I will someday be driving through Washington, so you never know what might happen in the future!

Something I was playing with tonight. I just used an inverse curve on a photo of cloud-to-cloud lightning.
