Is a non-erotic photo thread okay for Ampics?

To my PM'ers who like the pix of Brooklyn, my favorite walks take me down Kent Ave (love the views of Manhattan) and down Bedford ave. (I love the smells coming from all the cooking and baking going on). It is truly a five senses walk!

Two taken today in a makeshift studio on the dinner table:

These are parts of the internal mesh from a Nissan catalytic converter I removed from my girlfriend's car. The brown part on the right is clogged with buildup that had eventually ruined the car's acceleration. She could barely drive it to work until I ripped this crap out. Now it runs like new.

I had a bunch of old hard drives lying around and decided to tear one open just to see what it looks like in there. This is what I found:

I was discussing with a friend of mine earlier that I'd been spending a lot of time shooting scenic shots since I moved out west. So the question for the masses and mods is, can one get away with starting an Ampics thread for non-erotic photography. I'm sure there are a fair number of lit users who take artistic shots who would like to share them with the masses but don't necessarily want to friend every Tom, Jane, or Dick from lit on their Facebook page.

So Lit users and Ampics keepers, what say you?
Great idea. I added this thread to my subscribed list, however THAT works! Still learning my way around. Can't seem to be able to post a photo, only the link. Any pointers??

Thanks

If you use the Reply button or Quote a reply, you should see the standard post window with several formatting options at the top of the text window. One of them looks like a yellow postcard with mountains. This is the [/B] tag. Clicking it will open a dialog box into which you can type or paste the link to your photo. Clicking "OK" will insert the link with tags into the message and the image will display on the thread like this: [IMG]http://pdbreske.smugmug.com/Portfolio/Things/PICT6655/659630026_v32Xm-M-2.jpg

Thanks for the reply. This is all I get, I'll send & see if the image comes up.

Nope, didn't use my pic. Perhaps I'm too "new" at this to be allowed this privilege. I'll research that angle.

I can see the tags and link in your post when I look at the quoted text. Perhaps the image isn't displaying because it's hosted by nationalgeographic.com. Try sharing another image from someplace like Flickr or SmugMug.
Thanks for the tip. Looked at your website, great pics. I really like the way your website is organized, very easy to use.

Here I am at the downtown Ocala Art Walk. It's held on the first Friday of every month and this is my second time participating. I'd like to say it was a rousing success, but not only did I not sell a single print, but the large print on the top of the easel was knocked to the sidewalk by the very windy weather and it sustained some damage to the left edge and one corner. (I'm hoping the damage can be hidden with a frame.) Still, it's fun to get out and share my work in public.
