You walked the whole parade;
Your feet are tired and heavy;
Check your Facebook page;
While sittin’ on a Chevy.

Sitting on the deck, drinking wine in the evening sun and the noise from the Air Force base is telltale. Either an exercise or they are off to greet our Russian neighbors.

"On July 1, 2023, at 6:23 pm, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a small float plane that crashed into the Susitna River. A witness reported that three individuals had exited the plane after it had crashed and made it to a nearby sandbar. EMS and Rescue responded and were able to safely retrieve the individuals from the sandbar, where they were transported to a nearby boat launch. All occupants of the aircraft were accounted for and received medical attention for minor injuries ultimately denying any further medical attention. The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time. The investigation is ongoing."

Dear Alaska,

Please send some cold down this way. It's starting to resemble Lago*.

Thanks,

Yesterday, "around 7:00pm, JPD received a report of a person who jumped over the Juneau Douglas bridge, into the water. It was reported that there were two people on the bridge and one person jumped off. The USCG responded to the area to conduct a search. A helicopter was later used to assist with the search.
A witness in the area told JPD that they heard someone on the bridge yelling too another person in the water. The witness saw a person in the water, swimming toward the whale park; the witness described the person in the water as a strong swimmer, but it was unknown if the person made it to shore.
At about 10:18pm, JPD received a call from someone who said they were having a picnic in the park and saw a dad and two sons in the area. The two sons went up the bridge and one of them jumped off. They made it safely to shore.
JPD has not been able to locate anyone involved in this incident, but based on witness statements, the person who jumped off of the bridge made it safely to shore."
