Alaska visits us this afternoon. My only hope is that it is a dry cold headed our way.

All in all it's just another day in the 'heel...

It's not dark ALL the time.

When it is dark, the all sky cam captures the aurora at the GI at UAF. These are real time cam shots. Update by refreshing.

The snow is over knee-deep in the yard. Not a soul on traversing the highway that I can see from my chair. Pitch dark with only the city lights in the distance. And quiet. Got to love the quiet.

So far, i'm not impressed.

10 minutes to 8pm and I can hear a helo pass by. Most likely, it's a rescue.

There was a Naked & Afraid episode filmed near Talkeetna. While some of the intro section was bs, most of the show was pretty accurate.

Actually haven’t seen any of those. I saw the first episode of Alaska Daily, it’s not a reality show but it looked pretty good and authentic. Although some of the place names are fake it was actually filmed in Anchorage and Turnagain Arm. A far cry better than Northern Exposure from what I’m told. Wonder how the other episodes fared.

Alaska Daily seems to be trying....

The total distain for law enforcement is a concern. I understand the premise and the lack of investigation with regard to the young lady's death, however, there are many good people in the police business.
