I'm sorry if I offended you, but I always thought that the "end of the rainbow" was an imaginary, unreachable place -- and that the physics/optics of refraction & all that make it impossible to actually *be* there.

I'm not doubting what you saw or experienced. I just can't understand it. That's all I was saying.

I saw one on my way back from the Grand Canyon, took a pic and it can be seen in the photo (not a great pic and the colors are light but it's there).

I absolutely did NOT call GoatChick a liar. I don't doubt what she saw or experienced. I'm absolutely positive that it was some very impressive and memorable phenomenon. I just can't explain or understand it in terms of the science I've learned.

But that doesn't make me doubt her word, and I hope she'll accept my apology.

Not offended at all. Thanks for speaking up. In fact, I made a special point to especially thank the very few men who've visited in the past.

The western look just feels right on me, even though it looks somewhat out of place in CT. Fortunately I travel quite a bit and can get away with it more places than not.
